PCA—Mixed in with the numerous activities PCA members experience at Porsche Parade is the Michelin Drive Experience, in which members may drive brand-new Porsches on Michelin's latest tires, free of charge. This Parade Michelin showcased the Boxster GTS on Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

PCA—Werks Reunion concours and corral parking spots are selling out fast as more members register, and the event is on track to surpass last year's attendance of 500 Porsches. PCA—In a recent edition of e-Brake News, we shared with you racer/photographer/commercial director Jeff Zwart’s run at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in late June in a turbocharged Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which netted him a class win. While that video was shot entirely from inside the car, the “feature” video shows us a variety of camera angles as Zwart charges up the mountain.

Motor Trend—I'd been conflicted for two days, but when I got the call, I knew which car would be our winner. I don't often get calls from co-workers on the weekend, especially when none of us is working, but when Jonny Lieberman called me out of the blue to rave about the drive he just finished, it all fell into place. Each of us has a long list of cars we like, but actually calling someone just to babble about a car is unusual. This was one of those cars.

Reuters—German sports carmaker Porsche will spend 1.1 billion euros ($1.21 bln) through 2020 to upgrade its main production and research sites for more models.

Volkswagen-owned Porsche is building a new engine plant and body shop at its core factory in Zuffenhausen, in southern Germany, which will take over production of the Cayman series from VW in 2016, adding to assembly of Porsche 911 and Boxster models.

The Porsche 907 was first released at the 1967 24 Hours of LeMans and with it, Porsche hoped to capture the World Sportscar Championship.

CarScoops—Porsche may have a big surprise for its fans at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The automaker will reportedly unveil an EV concept that previews the upcoming Pajun (short for Panamera Junior).

According to a report from France’s L’Automobile Magazine, Porsche’s study will feature an all-electric powertrain which is likely to be offered in the production model as well, making it a rival for Tesla’s Model S.

Rennsport Reunion V: Call for PCA volunteers
