PCA—Earlier today, five PCA members who decided to go to extra lengths and make the first days with their Porsche 911 GTS Club Coupes a truly unique experience took delivery of their cars — at Porsche AG's headquarters in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.​

PCA—Please take our 60-Second Survey included twice a month in e-Brake News. We want to know more about our members! All primary, family, or affiliate members are encouraged to participate.

We are gradually introducing new membership questions in addition to questions from the previous survey in 2012. We hope to learn how our club’s demographics have changed over time, and, more importantly, how we can improve your membership experience. Each month, two surveys will be available, which will be specific to a particular section in the survey.

PCA—Porsche Club of America National Office is hosting its open house on September 12, and we want to see you here!

We host an open house annually, and tons of PCAers make the trip. Space is limited, and you must register to attend. Once registered, you'll be sent a confirmation email.

Expect a special guest, special cars, door prizes, and more! Michelin will give away a set of tires and Chesapeake Region member Charles Visconage donated a Fuchs wheel clock he made by hand (pictured) for one lucky guest. The PCA 60th Anniversary Museum will also be on display.

Los Angeles Times—The 2016 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS boasts a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that makes 430 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque, on a vehicle that weights only 3400 pounds. It goes from 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds, and hits a top speed of 187 miles per hour. The MSRP starts at $132,000 and can go up an additional $30,000 with options.

Jalopnik—Do you know what you have if you own the worst Porsche ever made? That’s right, a Porsche. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe 996 has a rep for being one of the least desirable iterations of the 911 ever… but it’s still a Porsche.
MotorAuthority—It’s a well-known fact that racing driver Mark Webber is a huge fan of Porsche, with the Australian even purchasing the last 911 GT2 RS during his days driving for the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One team. Top Gear—As I write this, the GT3 RS is parked outside my window. I’m finding it a struggle to remain indoors. It’s a lovely warm day, I could just take off, go and get another hit.

It’s not long since my last. I got home at 3am this morning, having driven 700 miles in two days all over north Wales. And all I want to do is drive some more.

CarScoops—There’s been lots of talk about the updated 911, code-named 991/2 rumored to launch in Frankfurt, yet somehow, the current Turbo is being sidelined.

One can argue that, a) the adoption of forced induction by the plain-vanilla 911 is much more important, b) everyone is still busy raving about the GT3 and GT3 RS (and rightly so), and, c) the Turbo is, well, not that much of a headline-grabber anymore.

Automobile—“The sad thing about it all,” observes Seamus Taaffe, Singer Vehicle Design’s test driver and R&D specialist, “is that Rob Dickinson has made me as anal-retentive as he is. I saw a Ferrari California and its license plate was misaligned side to side by probably half a millimeter. I saw it from three lanes away on the freeway, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?'"

Autoblog—Porsche is back at the forefront of sports endurance racing, and it has no intention of leaving anytime soon. The German automaker announced that it will stay in the LMP1 class of both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship through the end of 2018. So its rivals can look forward to a good three more years of heated competition at least.
