PCA—Let's face it: Car publications love Porsche sports cars, they're regularly included in car-of-the-year comparisons, and many times they win the top honor. EVO named the 911 GT3 its 2013 Car of the Year, and it beat contenders such as the Audi R8 V10 Plus, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, to name a few. Is the new GT3 RS on the same track?

PCA—Rennsport Reunion has gained quite the following since the first event was put on in 2001. And because it's so popular with Porschephiles, commemorative posters were made for the second, third, and fourth reunions. It comes as no surprise that one was produced for Rennsport Reunion V.

The poster highlights the German automaker's rich history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, featuring a 1951 356 that was the first Porsche entered in the race — and happened to win its class; the 917 that gave the company its first overall win at the round-the-clock race in 1970; and the 919 Hybrid, a contender at Le Mans this year.

PCA—We’re quickly approaching PCA’s annual Porsche Parade, which kicks off on June 21. Not only will we be at a beautiful locale this year, the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana, we'll also be celebrating PCA's 60th Anniversary. Special guest Dennis Gage, host of the television series My Classic Car, will be on property, so keep an eye out for him — and his signature mustache. Judging from this video, it looks like he’s as excited as we are to be attending this year’s Parade.

PCA—Last weekend PCA members Charli Tameris of Keystone Region and Robert Pepper of Potomac Region took part in Rally America’s Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally (STPR), a grueling stage rally in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.

 Stanceworks—On October 27th, 1973, drivers from all corners of the motorsport world met on the tarmac of the Riverside International Raceway. The 12 drivers each held their own titles for their endeavors in racing, but IROC, the International Race of Champions, had drawn them all in as a true test of driver skill to see who would come out on top as the best racer of their era. Roger Penske approached Porsche to have them build 15 identical cars.

MultiBriefs—You may have heard that the Porsche 911, Cayman and Boxster are scheduled to get a refresh for the 2016 or 2017 model year. This update will include small styling changes to the 991 and 981 models, but it's the engine that will be getting the biggest update.

Jalopnik—For those of you who don’t believe in reading quoted text, Murray is asking here how the hell Porsche always scores near the top of J.D. Power reliability surveys. And this is an interesting question, because Porsche is German, and luxurious, and high-performance, and usually when you combine these things, what you get is a water pump that has to be replaced with every oil change.

Autocar—Porsche is working on a new GT model to go with the existing 911 GT3 and GT3 RS that is unrelated to the GT2 RS already believed to be in the pipeline.

The new car is thought to be an entirely distinct entity from any that has been seen in the 16 years since the introduction of the original GT3 in 1999.

The Guardian—Porsche’s new Panamera S E-hybrid is a 410bhp supercharged V6 car. It can hit 62mph in a shade over five seconds and has a top speed of 168mph. It has barely there CO2 emissions of 71g per km – that’s about a third of what a Porsche 911 pumps out – and will do more than 90 miles to the gallon.
Digital Trends—This Saturday at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, three Porsche 919 Hybrid race cars will line up on the grid for one of racing’s most brutal challenges. Normally, it takes skill, dedication, and low body mass to join the elite group of drivers that pilot these Porsches, but now there’s a much easier way.

Motorsports.com—Audi boss Dr Wolfgang Ulrich has ruled Audi out of any serious attempt at trying to match Porsche in qualifying at Le Mans this week.

Speaking to Motorsport.com Ulrich said: "I don't ever remember Audi focusing on qualifying in the past years at all. 

"There is no reason to do that especially.

Motor Trend—I'm at a Frankfurt rental car counter, and the nice fräulein says I can choose my vehicle, so long as it's a Volkswagen — a reminder that Germany's largest automaker owns Porsche. The two have shared roots, all the way back to the People's Car. (And you must know that's the only reason the engine in the otherwise highly advanced 911 GT3 RS is in the rear: tradition. Well, that and the market demanded it.)

Thousands of spectators are expected to descend on the fairways at Rancho Cañada Golf Club and will be treated to a stunning display of more than 700 Porsches — from “rat rods” to garage queens — and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts.

Inside EVs—We often find it interesting to look at the official EPA test results for similar plug-in electric cars.

Both the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 are crazy expensive, plug-in hybrid hypercars.  By the numbers, these two cars would appear very similar, but the EPA ratings tell a different story:

As you’ll notice in the first graphic below, the Porsche 918 Spyder is far more efficient than the P1 when both vehicleshave their gas engines firing.  The 918 returns 22 MPG combined, whereas the P1 manages only 17.
