PCA—Porsche Panorama Editor Pete Stout is in Spain to drive the new 991-2-generation 911 Carrera and Carrera S for the first time. Their new, turbocharged 3.0-liter flat sixes mark the largest departure from 911 tradition since Porsche switched from air-cooled to water-cooled engines, threatening the character of the 911 that enthusiasts love. Find out if that's the case based off of Pete's initial impressions, and go ahead and ask him questions on PCA's Facebook page. There's a good chance he'll answer your question with input from Porsche engineers and representatives on hand for the road tests. Look for an in-depth review of the turbo Carrera and Carrera S in a future issue of Panorama.

PCA—Recently journalists were invited to Road Atlanta on a particularly stormy day to drive the 911 GT3 RS and Cayman GT4 on track, back to back. Though the rain-soaked track didn’t allow them to safely push the Porsches’ limits, all the journalists in the ensuing articles agree that the RS is better in the wet.

2015 PCA Halloween caption contest winner: John D'Angelo
PCA—We like to get into the Halloween spirit here at PCA National Office, so this year we ran a caption contest on our Facebook page for the picture above — a thoroughly burned 911 sitting on the side of the road. That's scary enough for most of us, but contest winner John D'Angelo of Golden Gate Region put forth an even scarier proposition: "Seven months until concours season 2016... Plenty of time!" Those sound like famous last words to us.

PCA—Porsche's decision to turbocharge its 911 Carrera line after more than 50 years of naturally aspirated flat sixes has polarized the Porsche community. The essence of the new 911 is under fire with questions such as: How does turbocharging affect throttle response? Does the new 3.0-liter flat six sound good? What differentiates a turbo Carrera from a 911 Turbo? evo's Henry Catchpole attempts to answer these and other questions fresh off a drive in the standard Carrera S.

What Car?—It’s fair to say the Porsche Macan doesn't require enhancements to the way it drives. We already think the standard car is stupendously capable for a small SUV, but Porsche still isn’t satisfied that it’s as good as it could be.
Road & Track—​Twenty years ago, when Porsche rationalized their sports-car products down to a single core design that could be built in both traditional rear-engined and mid-mounted orientations, none of us in the Porsche fanbase could have predicted just how many different Porsche sports cars you'd be able to buy today. Petrolicious—It takes great skill and a lot of time to peel away the layers of a machine and put everything together again, but it’s not an impossibly difficult thing to do. But imagine you’ve got to illustrate an entire vehicle by relying—much of the time—on photographs. That’s the easy part: the difficult part is in somehow figuring out how to show the viewer what’s behind the bodywork.
Reuters—Porsche SE, Volkswagen's majority shareholder, said nine-month net profit plunged by more than half on costs of the diesel emissions scandal.

Net profit slumped to 1.19 billion euros ($1.28 billion) from 2.5 billion a year ago said Porsche SE, which owns 52.2 percent of VW's common shares.

Parade is PCA's annual, weeklong event when thousands of members descend upon a new location every year to explore in their Porsches — often in Parade-organized driving tours — in addition to other events such as autocross, concours, time-speed-distance and gimmick rallies.
SportsCar 365—Porsche has confirmed Philipp Eng and Nick Catsburg for the FIA WEC Rookie Test at Bahrain later this month. The two drivers will drive the Porsche 911 RSR a day after the FIA World Endurance Championship season finale.

Fox Sports—Juan Pablo Montoya has been ruled out of making his debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year, according to Porsche LMP1 team principal Andreas Seidl.
Car and Driver—Southern California’s Angeles Forest Highway over the San Gabriel Mountains is almost flawlessly smooth. And though construction crews have been bringing this stretch of road to a halt for months, they’re almost done. Bloomberg—Here’s something unusual: A Porsche 911T that Steve McQueen used in his 1971 film Le Mans failed to sell at a Christie’s auction on Wednesday night in Paris. 
PCA—PCA—The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Jennifer Webb, Upper Canada Region; and Tom Provasi, Loma Prieta Region as members of the 2016 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Bylaws, the National Manual of Procedures, and the Region Procedures Manual. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to lead the Porsche Club of America for the next two year term. As part of this process, the Committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on National Staff. UPDATE (11-5-2015): The deadline to get suggestions to any member of the committee has been extended to no later than December 31, 2015.
