PCA—Just a decade after Porsche’s V10-powered flagship supercar, the Carrera GT, ended production, the newest coupe and Cabriolet versions of the 911 Turbo and Turbo S are now upon us, the latter of which matches the “old” CGT’s 205 miles-per-hour top speed. That’s what we call progress.

PCA—We invite you to join us in the scenic mountains and great back roads of northern Vermont June 19 - 26. The Jay Peak Resort will host our events with lodging in the base hotels and surrounding condos.

Parade is PCA’s most significant annual event. The size and scope of of them has expanded and grown, and so has the support from event sponsors. Clearly it is a full-fledged national convention. In an effort to avoid delays during registration, hotel reservations and event registration will be separate.

PCA— Porsche Parade is the Porsche Club of America's annual convention, and since the first one in 1956, it has grown into a massive event that attracts more than a thousand Porsches and even more club members. Autocar—Audi and Porsche have scaled down their Le Mans 24 Hour racing programmes as a consequence of cost-cutting associated with the VW Group emissions scandal - and as a result British race winner Nick Tandy will not be able to defend his crown with Porsche.
Road & Track—​I was looking down the nose of the Mercedes," Jim said, "and I expected to rotate at top speed and take off." Road & Track—​Two years ago today, Paul Walker was killed when his business partner Roger Rodas​ crashed his modified Porsche Carrera GT. The car left the road, struck a pole, and at some point, caught fire. Both men died on the scene.

Last month, Walker's daughter filed a lawsuit against Porsche, claiming the car her dad was riding in was unsafe to drive.

Bloomberg—Volkswagen AG’s billionaire owners are set to break their silence on Wednesday, more than two months after the carmaker’s admission to cheating on emissions tests, in a bid for workers’ support as the company seeks a path out of the scandal.

Wolfgang Porsche, chairman of family-owned majority shareholder Porsche Automobil Holding SE, will address thousands of workers in hall 11 of Volkswagen’s huge factory in Wolfsburg, Germany. He’ll be flanked at the 9:30 a.m. staff meeting by the other three supervisory board members who represent the reclusive clan: Louise Kiesling, Hans-Michel Piech and Ferdinand Oliver Porsche.

Chicago Tribune—Hundreds of years before Interstate 94 became the primary way to travel between Detroit and Chicago, the Great Sauk Trail was the most important Native American path in the Great Lakes region. Porsche—Rennsport Reunion V drew nearly 60,000 people from across the globe, all to celebrate one of the most accomplished, most magnetic, and most visceral sports cars on earth — Porsche.

Roughly 320 Porsche racecars took to the famed Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit. An additional 75 significant Porsche race cars, all with 24 Hours of Le Mans history, wowed the spectators while over 1,400 street cars overflowed the corral spaces.

Porsche—Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor in the United States of Porsche 918 Spyder, 911, Boxster and Cayman sports cars, Macan and Cayenne SUVs, and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up, today announced November 2015 sales of 4,450 vehicles.

November brings year-to-date sales to 47,820 vehicles, exceeding the 2014 record of 47,007 units sold. Year-to-date, sales increased 9.3 percent.

MultiBriefs—As I write this, it's an uncharacteristically balmy 60 degrees during the last weekend of November on the Connecticut shoreline. It's partly sunny, and the roads are dry — the perfect Porsche driving day. Days like these are to be savored like Thanksgiving leftovers.

We're entering the season in which vintage Porsches are prepped for winter storage in the Northeast. I still have to purchase some aluminum foil to stuff in the tailpipe to prevent an unwanted rodent from making its seasonal home in my 1976 911S.

 Car and Driver—Air-cooled 911s and 356s stopped being cheap about a decade ago, the 2.7 RS and any winning Porsche race car with the number nine at the beginning of its model designation are pure unobtainium, and yet we’re hopeful we’ll ride the next wave, maybe on a 914 or (likelier) a Boxster Spyder. Obvious fact: Most Porsches that aren’t SUVs or hatchback sedans have bright resale values ahead of them, and Stuttgart finally has awakened to the potential of making serious money on these classic rides.
PCA—PCA—The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Jennifer Webb, Upper Canada Region; and Tom Provasi, Loma Prieta Region as members of the 2016 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Bylaws, the National Manual of Procedures, and the Region Procedures Manual. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to fill the Officer roles in our Executive Council and lead the Porsche Club of America for the next two year term. As part of this process, the Committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on the Executive Council. UPDATE (11-5-2015): The deadline to get suggestions to any member of the committee has been extended to no later than December 31, 2015.
