PCA—Porsche Panorama, Porsche Club of America’s national magazine, was recognized at the 2015 Motor Press Guild Awards three nights ago with an overall win in the photography category and four runners-up in three categories.

PCA—My husband had broke the news to me that he’d purchased a 1999 911 Carrera. This was his dream, not mine, but I knew it had been a long-standing desire of his to own one. I was happy for him. I assumed it meant my truck would not be getting to stay in the one-vehicle carport now.

The moving company who brought us lock, stock, and barrel from upstate New York to southern Mississippi was gracious enough to transport Larry’s new acquisition for us.

Autoblog—The Porsche Club of America, whose motto is "it's not just the cars, it's the people," plans its annual Escape in a different city every year. This year's was particularly epic, as Porsche fans headed to the Black Hills of South Dakota for their gathering.

The scenery and the history are part of the attraction, but the winding roads are the real headliner. "This road right here is the reason why we chose the Black Hills of South Dakota to do the 2015 Escape," said Ron Johnson of the Nord Stern Porsche Club as he navigated the mountain range. "These Porsches really love these twisty, curvy roads."

PCA—On Saturday, Dec. 19, Maryland local and spring 2015 raffle winner Bill Caldwell took delivery of his brand-new Porsche Cayman GTS at Porsche of Silver Spring with his family by his side. (Special thanks to Chas Conklin and the team at Porsche of Silver Spring.) The car looks stunning in Agate Grey Metallic, and we appreciate his choice of a manual transmission.
 
Road & Track—The Porsche 718 isn't terribly well-known outside of Porsche geek circles, at least not compared to it's contemporaries, the 356 and the infamous 550 Spyder. Porsche's choice to revive this semi-obscure name for the next Boxster and Cayman, along with the decision to switch to turbocharged flat-four power, was bound to raise some eyebrows.

BoldRide—Over the years, Porsche has produced a number of highly decorated and acclaimed cars, in fact, it's hard to pin down a winner from the bunch. But this car—a 1600 Coupe—is not one of them, mainly because it wasn't made by Porsche at all.

Motor Trend—Call us crazy. Or mad, insane, demented, disturbed, affected—whatever descriptor you feel best suits our diminished mental state—but we really like gigantic SUVs with way, way more power than sense. When most people hear the term SUV, their thoughts gravitate toward a vehicle Gen. Patton could have used to invade Sicily. Road & Track—Refreshed versions of the mighty Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S made their debut earlier this month, which can mean only one thing: time to geek out with Porsche's car configurator. With the overwhelming amount of choices Porsche offers its customers (Deviated Floor Mats with Leather Edging, anyone?), I took it upon myself to configure my own Turbo.
 
Petrolicious—While organizing and promoting Luftgekühlt II, Porsche factory driver Patrick Long and enthusiast Howie Idelson insisted that that the event would happen "come rain or shine." Fortunately, the ever-compliant Southern California weather cooperated just long enough for the event to be a success before the heavens opened and the rains drenched Culver City this past Sunday.

Automotive News—Porsche named Volkswagen Group veteran Albrecht Reimold, 54, as its production boss to replace Oliver Blume, who was promoted to company CEO on Oct. 1.

The move was the latest management change announced at Volkswagen in the wake of its diesel emissions scandal.

Autoblog—The Volkswagen overhaul continues into next year with a raft of new executive appointments that CEO Mattias Müller says will enable "Faster decision-making and more efficient action." One of the headline moves is Porsche head of design Michael Mauer taking over VW Group design, succeeding Walter de Silva who retired in early November after running the Group's styling bureau since 2007. Among the sheetmetal on Mauer's resume are the Mercedes SLK and SL from the late nineties, the 2007 Porsche Cayenne, the Panamera, and, most recently, the 918 Spyder.
 
The Truth About Cars—Volkswagen executives may rotate in and out of key positions with the company to increase oversight and possibly reduce the chance for another massive cheating scandal that has engulfed the automaker, Reuters reported (via Welt am Sonntag).

Racer—Porsche North America will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2016 with two factory-supported entries. The pair of updated 911 RSRs will stage a season-long defense of the WeatherTech Championship GT Le Mans title, clinched this year by works driver Patrick Pilet.
 
PCA—As you may know, the registration process has been split into two phases this year: housing and event. Housing: Phase 1 ends at 11 PM EST tonight and is the last chance to secure a room in the PCA block.

Racer—Le Mans legend Derek Bell has added his name to nearly every iconic Porsche prototype since the Briton was introduced to the marque in 1971, and he'd like to place one more on the list. His wins in the Porsche 917, La Sarthe victories in the 936, 956, and 962, experience in the 908/3, 934, 935, and modern outings in a GT-1 make for an incredible CV.

PCA—PCA—The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Jennifer Webb, Upper Canada Region; and Tom Provasi, Loma Prieta Region as members of the 2016 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Bylaws, the National Manual of Procedures, and the Region Procedures Manual. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to fill the Officer roles in our Executive Council and lead the Porsche Club of America for the next two year term. As part of this process, the Committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on the Executive Council. UPDATE (11-5-2015): The deadline to get suggestions to any member of the committee has been extended to no later than December 31, 2015.
