PCA—During a weekend in SoCal in November, PCA held its annual Tech Tactics West event at Porsche Cars North America's (PCNA) West Coast training facility.
True to form, there was a variety of nice Porsches in attendance — a collection that would satisfy even jaded Porsche enthusiasts. Amongst a handful of Cayman GT4s, GT3 RSs, 944s, Boxsters, and more, there was a conspicuous 911 Turbo S in yellow and black that caught our attention.

PCA—Perhaps you've watched an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee hosted by Porsche fanatic Jerry Seinfeld. If you haven't, now's a great time to start. Author Sean Cridland went behind the scenes for this month's issue of Porsche Panorama, so it makes sense to watch the episode starring Garry Shandling and a 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo.

PCA—Larry and his 1999 911 Carrera spent some quality time together in October when he attended a PCA Driver’s Education course. Sponsored by the Mardi Gras Region of PCA and held at the NOLA Motorsports Park just south of New Orleans, it was a weekend long, intensive training in understanding your car, driving your car, and how to not crash your car. It boasts a 2.75 mile road course with 16 fun-filled turns.

PCNA CEO Klaus Zellmer receives honorary membership, Board of Directors Meeting attendees tour PCNA's Atlanta HQ
PCA—Last weekend PCA Board of Directors Meeting attendees were invited to tour the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, where they were welcomed by newly appointed PCNA CEO Klaus Zellmer. PCA President Caren Cooper gifted him an honorary PCA membership and a commemorative plaque to mark the special occasion. Following two full days of business meetings on Friday and Saturday, the PEC tour was a refreshing break for National Staff and Zone Representatives and capped off a busy weekend.

Road & Track—It could be the perfect salvo for boring car races the world over: Take a bone-dry track and unleash water jets on the most crucial sections of selected turns, each jet sending a cascade of grip-killing liquid over the surface at exactly the point when upsetting the balance of a car could send it into a spin.
 
The Globe and Mail—Rivers of water are flowing across the Kyalami circuit. Early morning rain washed away a brutal heat wave in Johannesburg, but it’s made this old F1 track even more intimidating, as if the elevation changes, bad camber and high-speeds corners weren’t enough.

PCA—Won't be able to attend the 25th annual 48 Hours at Sebring PCA Club Race? Have friends or relatives competing in the kick-off race of PCA's 2016 season? Follow along on the 48 Hours of Sebring Live Blog. The goal of the blog is to give you a feel for what you would experience if you were there. The cars, the racing, and the people will all be featured. Coverage will begin Friday morning, February 5, and continue through Saturday.
Friday evening will feature special coverage of an exciting new feature of the event called "Speed Showcase." Speed Showcase is a social event which allows vendors to interact with club members. The highlight will be a very special presentation by Porsche Motorsports North America. Watch for it.

Motor Trend—At the 2014 Best Driver’s Car competition, the 911 Turbo S put down a sizzling lap time of 1:35.62, making it the second-quickest Porsche we’ve ever run at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, right after the ridiculous 887-horsepower 918 Spyder (1:29.89). Well, make that the third-quickest Porsche.

 MultiBriefs—The 959 supercar was specifically built to race in the FIA Group B rally class. Porsche decided it wanted to use the racing regulations as a test bed for future models.

Green Car Reports—Porsche is moving forward with plans to produce and sells its first electric car, but the German automaker is already seeing success with plug-in hybrids.

Over the past few years, Porsche has launched three plug-in models, including the Panamera S E-Hybrid sedan, Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUV, and the now-defunct 918 Spyder supercar.
