PCA—Several years ago Akira Nakai's Rauh-Welt Begriff (RWB) Porsche 911 tuning company stomped onto the world stage from its humble shop outside of Tokyo. It wasn't hot-rodded engines or comprehensive suspension upgrades that had the attention of car enthusiasts everywhere, but outrageously wide and radical body kits with a Japanese flair that hinted at racing 911s from the '70s, '80s, and '90s. Today RWB operates worldwide, including in Southern and Northern California and in Atlanta, but each RWB body kit is still installed by Nakai.

PCA—The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Jennifer Webb, Upper Canada Region; and Tom Provasi, Loma Prieta Region as members of the 2016 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Bylaws, the National Manual of Procedures, and the Region Procedures Manual. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to lead the Porsche Club of America for the next two year term. As part of this process, the Committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on National Staff. Road & Track—Ed.: There is no doubt that the 996-generation 911 is one of the best Porsche values. This article is a good rundown of why, but keep these points in mind while reading:
1. 996-generation model years are 1999-04 (with Turbo S holding over as 2005 model)—not 1997-04
2. Maintenance and repairs can be prohibitively expensive. Always get a pre-purchase inspection.
3. Plan to spend more than $400-700 on replacing the IMS bearing if you have a shop do it for you
CarScoops—It’s not easy to improve a distinctive, well-proportioned design, but some nicely thought out aerodynamic bits and pieces will probably do the job. Techart's latest proposal isn’t spoiling the 911’s clean and iconic looks, as it blends with the vehicle’s character in a technical and stylish way.
