PCA—Porsche’s GTS family just got a little larger when the automaker announced last night the 2017 Macan GTS, a twin-turbocharged compact SUV that slots between the Macan S and the Turbo and aims to provide a more involving driving experience.

PCA—Porsche is recalling 25,325 Macan S and Turbo models in North America due what the automaker describes is "a possible leak in the low-pressure fuel line inside the engine compartment." Porsche states the safety recall is voluntary and there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the suspect fuel line.

PCA—The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) alleges certain Volkswagen Group models with the 3.0-liter diesel V6, which includes the Porsche Cayenne Diesel, are equipped with an emissions-test defeat device, entangling more vehicles and brands in a scandal that has enveloped Volkswagen Group.

PCA—So you just purchased a case of what you believe to be high-quality synthetic motor oil from your local auto parts store or online retailer. How much of it is really the high-quality synthetic you think you bought? Although the majority of the big-name manufacturers offer them, it is widely accepted among industry experts that oils labeled “synthetic” are not equal, and some are not fully synthetic.

Let’s start our analysis with some background on the current, loose definition of synthetic oil, which is, an oil containing base stock that was synthesized through an intended chemical reaction. Crucially, there are no federal guidelines for using the word synthetic in the sale and distribution of motor oil in the U.S. As a result, the current definition stems from a complaint brought before the Better Business Bureau‘s National Advertising Division (NAD) on March 1, 1999 by Mobil regarding Castrol Syntec motor oil.

Road & Track—Porsche couldn't ask for much more from the second year of the 919 Hybrid program; Through seven World Endurance Championship races, they have seven 1-2 starts, five wins, and their first overall victory at Le Mans since 1998. Today they add to that distinguished resume, taking the FIA WEC's manufacturer's championship to take the marque's first FIA World Championship in over 30 years.

Autoblog—The Porsche 911 GT3 is still a strong enthusiast choice in the 911 range, and the GT3 RS has gone more hardcore. But both versions are PDK-only. The upcoming Porsche 911 R, spied undergoing testing in Germany, is tipped to adopt the naturally aspirated engine from the aforementioned GT3, producing somewhere in the neighborhood of 475-500 horsepower. Only instead of an automated dual-clutch transmission, it'll feature a proper manual.

Reuters—Oct 28 Porsche Automobil Holding SE , the family-owned holding company that controls a majority stake in Volkswagen, cut its full-year guidance, citing effects from the Volkswagen emissions scandal.

PCA—The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Jennifer Webb, Upper Canada Region; and Tom Provasi, Loma Prieta Region as members of the 2016 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Bylaws, the National Manual of Procedures, and the Region Procedures Manual. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to lead the Porsche Club of America for the next two year term. As part of this process, the Committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on National Staff. Stanceworks—While it's not a brand that dominated the racing world, Coca-Cola is arguably one of the most world renowned brands in our history. It seems fitting that such a brand would grace the body panels of one of the last Porsche 935s built for competition.
Bloomberg—Porsche SE’s failed bid to take over Volkswagen AG in 2008 faced hurdles in the wake of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.’s bankruptcy in September of that year, a police investigator told a Stuttgart court Friday.

Four banks that Porsche had asked for a 20 billion-euro ($22 billion) loan to finance the potential bid said that the plan to acquire a 75-percent stake in VW was unrealistic in light of the Lehman crisis, according to the investigator.
