PCA—Yesterday Porsche unveiled a revised 919 Hybrid prototype race car, two of which it will campaign in the 2016 World Endurance Championship. The 2016 model is not entirely new, though it receives new bodywork with three different configurations and a more robust energy recovery and electric drive system.

PCA—Another chapter in PCA Club Racing history will begin April 1-3 at Road Atlanta as the PCA Club Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy East series makes its debut with one of Porsche's newest race cars.
 
AutoWeb—The crank starter was automated 100 years ago. The choke valve was automated 40 years ago. Cruise control was automated 20 years ago. Porsche—The highly anticipated volume Porsche Sounds is going to be published very soon and could make the perfect gift for Father's Day. With a wealth of stunning photos, this lavishly illustrated must-read has been produced in conjunction with the Director of the Porsche AG Historical Archives, Dieter Landenberger. The coffee-table hardback showcases the milestones and the most breath-taking moments in Porsche’s history. Enthusiasts will enjoy the accompanying CD with the original engine sounds of some of the most notable Porsche vehicles.
 
Porsche via YouTube—Join two Porsche enthusiasts on the road to perfect vehicle control – a driving training with Porsche works driver Patrick Long. In the third lesson, our participants will learn how to heel-and-toe downshift for a perfect corner entry. In the fourth lesson, our participants will learn how to find the ideal line on the Porsche test track in Weissach.

The Drive—For three days, famed Porsche tuner Akira Nakai visited The Drive's headquarters in Brooklyn, NY to overhaul a 911 as the public dropped by to watch him work.

Jalopnik—While other New York Auto Show people were going to lame parties, legendary tuner Akira Nakai built one of his famous RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF Porsche 911s at the HQ of The Drive in Brooklyn. I went there to to check it out, and I got a nice blast of noise.

YouTube via Motor1—It appears to be the same prototype caught on camera just last week while tackling the ‘Ring and it seems we are dealing with the Turbo variant. The shape of the quad exhaust tips along with the large brakes indicate it’s the Turbo and as you can see the prototype was being put through its paces by the Porsche test driver.
 
MultiBriefs—Spring is upon us, and quite predictably I have found another car to add to my garage. My primary excuses were:

  1. I just sold two cars
  2. My brown Porsche 944 project is finished and ready to go
  3. This was a good deal on what could be a ready-to-go "driver"

Road & Track—It's somewhat hard to believe, but the Porsche Panamera has been with us since 2009, which means it's high time for an all-new model. An Automotive News report says the new Panamera will show its face at the Paris Motor Show this fall, and that Porsche will offer a shooting brake version alongside the sedan.

Road & Track—2015 was a dominant year for Porsche's 919 Hybrid program, capped off with the manufacturer's record-extending 17th overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Needless to say, this left Toyota and Audi, who have poured their considerable resources into preparing for the same races only to find themselves without the pace to even compete with the electric-assisted V4 racers, desperate to catch up.

Motorsport.com—Toyota LMP1 driver Anthony Davidson feels the Japanese manufacturer is still not on the same level as reigning WEC champion Porsche, despite having made huge progress in the off-season.
 
Petrolicious—Tucked away on a nondescript industrial block in North Hollywood, California is a parking lot without a sign, behind a gate with no marking. Driving through this gate and about eight spots down on the left is a small door (with an even smaller sign) that reads “EMORY Motorsports”. Open this door and you’ll be greeted by a man named Rod Emory, whose handshake is as strong as his smile.

Porsche of the Week
Photo by G. Stanley Sangdahl. Chicago Region. “This is a photo of our 2014 911 Targa 4S on top of Trail Ridge Road just west of Estes Park, Colorado. We had just completed driving US Highway 14 from Chicago to Yellowstone National Park and were on our way to Boulder. In all, we drove 3,880 miles in 10 days and loved every mile. The car (nicknamed “Florio”) performed flawlessly in an environment that it was truly made for."​​​​​​​
