Road & Track—"Honestly a 4cyl doesnt ever belong in a porsche, I mean why would people pay all that money to hear a 4cyl lawnmower ..."
This is, unedited, the first comment on my first Instagram post from my test drive of the new 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster. It's a big story, this
car and its four-cylinder turbo motor.
The Guardian—That the racing at the opening round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship would be intense was never in doubt; the ultimate result of the meeting, however, proved more elusive.
Black Flag via Jalopnik—Modern endurance races have gotten a bit of a reputation as “really long sprint races” due to the reliability of the cars and the skill of the drivers. Just kidding! Jalopnik—As much as I love Porsches, there’s always been something off about the Panamera. It’s basically the Hunchback of Notre Dame in car form. “They should have just made it a wagon!” I’ve said. MultiBriefs—Downtown Thomasville, Georgia, is a dreamy historic village with brick streets and family-owned businesses operating from storefronts circa early 20th century. A recent Saturday monthly sidewalk sale on Broad Street had attracted a pleasant society strolling under lush trees and eating ice cream cones as temperatures hovered in the mid-70s beneath a satin blue sky.
Road & Track—With the benefit of forced induction, four-cylinders are replacing their six- and eight-cylinder counterparts faster than ever. Automakers are in an arms race to produce more and more powerful fours, and the results can be pretty absurd.
The New York Times—When Porsche added the Cayenne sport utility vehicle to its lineup in 2003, loyalists reacted as if Beelzebub himself would ride in to usher in doomsday. Funny how it became the best-selling vehicle the company makes.
Bloomberg—Lawsuits filed by hundreds of Porsche SE investors over the company’s use of complex financial instruments in 2008 before its failed takeover of Volkswagen AG will be combined under a special procedure to handle some large civil cases in Germany.
