PCA—Last weekend PCA held its annual Tech Tactics East at PCNA's training facility and parts warehouse in Easton, PA. This time we brought along some cameras and filmed nearly all of the presentations for your viewing pleasure.

PCA—1. The front bumper is straight GT3, but uses a new and smaller lip to balance the aero due to the 911R's lack of a rear wing. Porsche says the car achieves the same aero balance front to rear as the 991 GT3, which is not to be confused with the same lift or downforce. Due to less drag, the 911R is said to "run away" from the wider, bewinged GT3 RS at high speeds.

PCA—Pirelli has been named as an Official Series Sponsor and Tire Provider for the PCA Club Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy East series, which starts its inaugural season in April. All competitors in the new series will race on Pirelli tires, with the global tire giant also providing technical and engineering support at all events.

Road & Track—Meet the new Kremer K3.

It's the work of the Kremer Racing, a German team that's been successfully modifying and racing Porsches since the 1970s. Hidden under the K3's incredible skin is a 997 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Top Gear—This, friends, is a Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution. And very shortly, it will go up for auction at the RM Sotheby’s Monaco sale in May 2016. That alone would ordinarily be enough to send you into a minor meltdown, were it not for the fact this particular GT1 has two very, very special claims to fame.

PCA—Porsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all Porsche clubs, owners, and enthusiasts to the third annual PCA Werks Reunion to be held Friday, August 19, during the world-famous Monterey Car Week on California s Monterey Peninsula.
 
The Orange County Register—Rusted and holey, the old car seemed like a piece of junk.

Its owner thought so little of the thing, he traded it for an $800 lithograph called “La Femme Dans Le Cosmos Dominant Le Monde” (The Woman in the Cosmos Dominating the World). It was 1982, and it seemed like a fair trade at the time.

MultiBriefs—Porsche recently unveiled the 718 Boxster at the Geneva Motor Show. The new version of the roadster is more efficient yet more powerful than the 981 variant that it replaces.
 
Road & Track—Porsche's 911 R was easily one of our favorite cars of the Geneva Motor Show. Its combination of light weight, an 8800-rpm 4.0 liter flat-six and a proper six-speed manual gearbox is just about perfect, but its development is a rather interesting story. This car is very much a response to those who complained about the choice to use PDK only in the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS.

Road & Track—The glorious new 911 R only has one transmission option: A fantastic six-speed manual. Many are viewing it as Porsche making a concession to those that were upset there was no option of a manual in the new 911 GT3. At the Geneva Motor Show, Porsche's head of GT cars, Andreas Preuninger, confirmed that the next 911 GT3 will get a manual gearbox option, and it will be the six-speed from the 911 R.

Edmunds.com—Porsche dealerships grabbed the top spot in a new study that measured how auto dealerships responded to online queries by car shoppers.
Lexus dealerships took the 2nd spot in the study, followed by BMW.

Road & Track—We know Porsche has committed to building the Mission E electric sedan and that a new hybrid sports car (likely a 911) will probably follow it. But other than some hints, the company hasn't said much about this follow-up sports car or any sort of timeline for it. Well, now it has. According to Porsche, don't expect any sort of hybrid 911 or 718 until after Porsche puts the Mission E on sale.

Nasdaq—In Germany Inc. versus a group of American hedge funds, the hedge funds just got a leg up.

The move was seen as a boost for prosecutors who are trying to prove two former Porsche executives concealed their company's intention to buy Volkswagen AG for months in 2008 then manipulated the stock market to avert insolvency.

Black Flag via Jalopnik—Once you see the face in the Porsche 911 GT3-R, it cannot be unseen. It’s particularly noticeable on Michael Schein’s No. 16 Pirelli World Challenge car, as the entire “face” is one big expanse of red. It’s one big :D smiley in car form. This is the happiest race car known to mankind.

USA Today—Nike, TAG Heuer and Porsche have suspended their relationships with Maria Sharapova after the tennis star failed a drug test.

Sharapova admitted she failed the test in an announcement at a news conference Monday.

Photo by Ellen Beck, submitted by Judy Hendrickson. North Country Region. “Here is a photo of ‘JellyBean,’ my 1995 911 Carrera 2 coupe in Riviera Blue (993 generation). Photo was taken by Ellen Beck (owner is Judy Hendrickson of North Country Region) at sunset in Badlands National Park, South Dakota. We were returning home to New Hampshire from what turned out to be an 8,000+ mile round trip to the 2000 Parade in Sacramento. The trip included numerous side trips and two days of a Driver Education event at Thunderhill Raceway in Northern California. We brought home numerous trophies - Long Distance Award, Concours, autocross, Tech Quiz, etc. While retired from ‘competition’ Jelly Bean is still looking good and gets a lot of looks when out and about. As a factory delivery during the Zone 1 Treffen in October 1994, she is only one of 24 Riviera Blue 993s brought into North America in model year 1995. Riviera Blue was a standard (not special order) color only in model year 1995.”
