Grassroots Motorsports—I’m a frugal mechanic. I have a selection of hand tools, a device capable of melting metal together, and a floor jack. I don’t have a lift or special manufacturer’s tools. My workplace will never be featured in “Garage Journal.” In short, I’m typical of most of the GRM “hive.” (Ed.: This is an online forum, but well worth a read. AutoEvolution—Judging by how effervescent the Internet rendering scene has gotten, a title such as the one above was bound to happen - it was only a matter of time until some pixel master out there pursued the idea of fitting a Porsche 356 with a Rauh-Welt Begriff kit.
 
Rennlist—While Ferraris are known for their ability to become rolling fire pits, the picture proves no marque is completely immune to a car-b-que. Unfortunately, a long-time Rennlist member recently had a close encounter with the other side when his recently-tuned 928 caught fire as he was driving. He's not even certain what caused the fire.

PCA—Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. Approximately 550 race cars are invited to compete in the world’s premier motoring event, and are accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness. Car corral tickets are sold out, but bring your Porsche key and/or member card for access to hospitality tent.

Engineering Explained—Cars with electronic fuel injection do not need to be warmed up before lightly driving off. This is because fuel injected engines can compensate for temperature changes. Cold engines run rich to compensate for poor fuel atomization. This means extra fuel is injected into the combustion chamber.

Motor1—Porsche talks about the optional 3D surround sound Burmester stereo available as an option on the 2017 Panamera in the same terms that it talks about its cars. ‘Benchmark-setting performance’, ‘powerful and efficient’ components and ‘enhancing the emotional experience’ are all mentioned. You’ll find similar terms used in reference to the Panamera itself in official Porsche material.

CarScoops—First held 110 years ago, the legendary Targa Florio through the scenic roads of Sicily was one of the most recognizable road races ever.
 
Motor1—Not a lot of people will remember, but almost six years ago a tuner by the name of Merdad came out with a so-called Porsche Cayenne Coupe which was nothing more than the regular version sans rear doors. Since then, many rumors have emerged about a coupe-ified version of the SUV straight from Porsche and now it seems the model has received the stamp of approval.

Top Gear—As technology whisks us kicking and screaming into a world of autonomous cars and 3D-printed pizza, there’s something satisfying about stepping off the conveyor belt and indulging in objects of the past. Teasing a crumbling cork out of a bottle of Cabernet Franc, for instance, despite screw-tops keeping your tipple just as fresh and fungus-free, is oddly reassuring.

Reuters—​​​​​​​German prosecutors on Thursday dropped an appeal against a court ruling that acquitted former Porsche SE (PSHG_p.DE) chief executive Wendelin Wiedeking of market manipulation during a 2008-9 takeover battle with Volkswagen.
 
Reuters—U.S. authorities have found three unapproved software programs in 3.0 liter diesel engines made by Volkswagen's Audi unit, German weekly Bild am Sonntag reported, without saying where it had obtained the information.
