PCA—Rene Robichaud used a last-lap pass to win the PCA Club Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy East series endurance race Sunday at Watkins Glen International (WGI).

PCA—Pete Stout has resigned as Editor-in-Chief of PCA’s Porsche Panorama. Though he will be missed, we wish him well as he pursues another opportunity.

The Porsche Club of America leadership hired Pete in late 2012. During his tenure and with his vision, he successfully prepared and executed a major publication makeover in 2013. Early on, PCA identified him as the person to assist in preparing Panorama’s long term sustainability plan including assembling a highly professional editorial team.

“Pete has been responsible for exciting Panorama innovations,” stated Dr. Caren Cooper, PCA National President. “We thank him for his guidance and for leaving us with a strong product and a talented team in place.”

PCA—Werks Reunion, the premier Porsche event during “Monterey Car Week,” is back on August 19. The concours and car show at Rancho Cañada Golf Club is free to spectators and will have a field of up to 1,000 Porsches, with 924/944/968 and 928 as the featured model ranges.

AutoEvolution—We have to admit that, when we came across the drag race shown in the video at the bottom of the page, we expected the Porsche to be the winner. However, this straight line adventure raised more than one eyebrow in our office thanks to the categorical manner in which the Rennsport machine walks the Jaguar.
 
PCA—Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. Motorsport.com—​​​​​​​Stuttgart - The 2016 Le Mans event has begun: The Porsche Team has used the official pre-test to set up the two Porsche 919 Hybrids for the 24-Hour marathon on June 18/19. Today provided the only opportunity to test on the 13.629 kilometre long Circuit de la Sarthe. The track includes 9.2 kilometres of what are normally public country roads. This part includes the famous Mulsanne straight on which the 900 HP strong Porsche Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1) go significantly over 320 km/h.
 
Motoring.com—It outsells the Audi Q5, the BMW X4 and the Volvo XC60, and now the Porsche Macan range has been bolstered once more; thanks to the addition of the faster, grippier GTS.

Photo by Mary Borden. Sacramento Valley Region. “Here is a photo of our 1974 911S that my husband fully restored. The car was originally purchased at Niello Porsche in 1974 in the Salmon Metallic color (less than 1,400 were imported into the US in this color) and had always been in the Sacramento Valley area. We purchased the car in great disrepair and my husband did a full tub-up restoration. The car won Best in Class at the 2012 Niello Concours at Serrano.”
