PCA—The Porsche Club of America is set to begin a new tradition on the East Coast in 2017 with the inaugural Werks Reunion Amelia Island. The new, premier Porsche event will take place on Friday, March 10, during the famous Amelia Island Concours weekend.
PCA—One of the most common misconceptions is Porsches are expensive to purchase. Tell the average
person you own one, and they’ll think you either had to sell a kidney or shares on Wall Street for a living. As many PCA members know, it’s just not the case for all Porsches.
PCA—The PCA Club Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy East series wrapped up its inaugural 2016 season with a thrilling endurance race Sunday at Daytona International Speedway with rookie Curt Swearingin passing David Baum in the last lap to get his first win of the
season.
PCA—Identifying
individuals for the Executive Council Slate was a two-part process that required nine months of activity to complete. First, it was of paramount importance to identify both the current state of the club and what is anticipated to be the club needs for leadership in the near future. Second was the need to identify individuals possessing the characteristics and abilities to meet these anticipated future needs.

PCA—It's that time of year again: The Fall 2016 Member Only Raffle has begun, with a new Porsche 718 Cayman S (plus $25,000 cash) as the grand prize. Purchase tickets today to enter—more tickets equals more grand prizes.
PCA—The PCA Club Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy East series has grown from six events in its inaugural season to eight events for the 2017 season at some of North America's most challenging courses, including a new addition in Canada.
Top Gear—Porsche’s new Boxster – sorry, 718 Boxster – arrives with a new engine. Out goes the lovely six-pot, in comes a turbo’d four. Is it still the benchmark?
Car and Driver—Fewer than one in 10
new Porsche 911s has three pedals, which means the vast majority of 911 buyers are happy to shell out an extra $3200 to let a PDK dual-clutch automatic do the shifting. We get it. It’s a great gearbox. PDK is quicker than the manual, it’s easier to live with, and it’s smart enough to make you look like an ace on a road course. And yet, to someone adept at shifting gears, letting PDK handle everything is like watching two computers play chess.
COBB Tuning Products—Welcome to our first edition of a new series entitled “Tuning Tuesday.” This week we will lay out the differences between flash tuning with an Accessport and “chip tuning” from the days of yore. Vehicles have come a long way in the technology department; luckily, so have tuning
options.
Jalopnik—How do you slay tires and hearts at the drift event? Bring a car that’s not your standard drift missile and leave a gargantuan trail of smoke and rubber behind you. I am in love with this ludicrously sideways blank white Porsche 944 Turbo.
Petrolicious—“I was a bit skeptical about the color in the beginning, but I kind of like it now. It
stands out, definitely,” says Torfi Sigurjonsson of his Speed Yellow 928. With a small list of cars to collect, the brightly-colored Porsche was actually #2. “On the top of the list was the E500, which I bought in 2006, and this is a US model. I bought it in New Jersey.” Torfi’s day job? Airline pilot.
The Drive—This year, I answered the call of La Carrera Panamerica. For the uninitiated, the Pan-Am is a seven day race where vintage race cars tear through 2,000 miles of Mexican city streets and backcountry. The race began in 1950, as an initiative of the Mexican government to showcase a then-new system of roads, called the Pan-American Highway.
Top Gear via YouTube—It used to be if the Nissan GT-R was involved in a drag race, it crossed the line first. But against the McLaren 570S, Porsche 911 Turbo S and Audi R8 V10 Plus, we’re not so sure. All have around 600bhp, but each deploys its differently. So sit back and let the race begin, this is Top Gear: Drag Races...
The Smoking Tire via YouTube—The Porsche 997.2 GT3 featured several significant improvements over the 997.1 which preceded
it. Center lock wheels became standard, the front and rear fascias were updated, but most importantly, Porsche moved away from the Mezger-based 3.6L engine to a new 3.8L engine, good for 435 HP and more low-end torque. This stock example is a clean, low-mileage car which can be driven and enjoyed, as well as collected.
MultiBriefs—Having lived in California for 15 years before moving back to the East Coast, I've always harbored a love-hate relationship with a state that's beautiful, exciting and demanding.
PC Magazine—The LaCie Porsche Design Mobile Drive ($149.95 for 2TB) has style in spades. With a slim, all-aluminum body, this is an attractive external hard drive that's also capable of super-fast transfer speeds.
Road & Track—Just last month, a Porsche 993 GT2 sold at auction for a frankly absurd $2.4 million. The owner of this one-of-57 produced collector car in this video doesn't seem to notice, or care.
The Garage via Jalopnik—I just bought the cheapest Porsche 911 I could find, a manual 1999 Carrera with 243,000 miles. But naturally I had to know how much power it puts down, and that meant taking it to the absolute limit on the dyno. My inaugural test of this car
starts with a bang, a roar, and some really odd facial expressions.
Motor1—Porsche continues lapping the
upcoming Cayenne at the Ring, and the many development laps there make us look forward to experiencing the new CUV.
Road & Track—Most people remember the Porsche 924 as the automaker's first front-engine, entry-level sports coupe. It only came in a two-door hatch bodystyle from the factory, but that didn't stop German tuning firm DP from converting nine 924s into stylish shooting brakes. And now, one of those cars is for sale.
Slash Gear—Porsche is putting all luxury sedan automakers on notice: beware the one-two punch of the 2017 Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo. Completely redesigned, in the four-door’s first major overhaul since its debut in 2009, which one you decide upon depends heavily on both your pocketbook and your appetite for raw performance.
New York Times—Buying a new car is special. Buying a new sports car is very, very special. Buying a new sports car together with your adult son and then driving on a racetrack is an experience that lacks enough adjectives.
Reuters—The Piech and Porsche families that control more than 52 percent of Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) have vowed to back senior management, setting aside past disputes as the carmaker struggles to overcome an emissions scandal, Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.
Motorsport.com—Porsche LMP1 boss Andreas Seidl says there is no reason for Mark Webber’s 2017 replacement to be a “big name”, suggesting that Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber are the leading candidates for the drive.

Delivery Carmine Red Cayman GTS, I shot the photo on the San Bernardino Pass in Switzerland, which I stumbled upon by pure luck as I was headed back to Stuttgart from Italy to return the car to Porsche after putting almost 3,000 miles on the clock.”
