PCA—Porsche released arguably the ultimate version of its iconic sports car this year — the 911R — yet very few people who did not purchase the 918 Spyder hypercar got the chance to buy one. While this video may pour salt in fresh wounds, Motor Trend's Jason Cammisa's road test makes us yearn even more for a manual GT3.

Motor1—The best Hill Country roads dig deeply into the terrain, the topographical features that name the place rising around you like seemingly engineered bulwarks of dry, loose soil. In the deepest trenches of ribboned asphalt, the sound from the Cayman’s exhaust rockets off hillsides, echoing a punchy, high-decibel riot behind me as I careen over the Texas expanse.

Kelley Blue Book—The remake of the now-renamed 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman and its more-potent 718 Cayman S sibling has raised performance and endowed these coupes a bolder look that closely resembles their just-introduced soft-top 718 Boxster/Boxster S siblings. But the most controversial element in the reboot involves abandoning the established naturally aspirated flat-6 engines for a new turbocharged 4-cylinder alternatives.
 
Porsche—Two worlds, two global debuts: At the Paris Motor Show, Porsche is celebrating the debut of two sports cars with completely different characteristics – the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and a 911 racing car.

MultiBriefs—I had none left.

It was late Thursday afternoon. I'd decided to change the 968's oil on Saturday, but I had no filters left. There were Mahle filters under the workbench — six OC229s and five OC213s for the 993, two OC46s for the 928 — but not one OC142.

Motor Trend—Our 2016 Best Driver’s Car competition is the most competitive in the award’s nine-year history. Forbes—If you listened closely to Porsche freaks back in February, you heard a collective, worrying gasp. The sports car maker announced that the redesigned 2017 Boxster and Cayman models would jettison their six-cylinder engines, a long-time Porsche staple, for turbocharged flat-fours.

Lockton Affinity Motorsports—Being on the track is one of my highlights every summer. It’s very important to keep cool while you’re participating in HPDE events during the hot months. Below are a few simple tips to keep you safe while out on the track.

Hydration: It’s a fact you are going to be sweating a lot because that’s how your body cools you down. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day to maintain hydration.

Cool down: When you have a break from driving, you need to cool down your body temperature. You might want to get into the shade, sit in front of a fan, take some deep breaths of fresh air, or even pour cool water over your hands and neck.

Know the Warning Signs: Heat is nothing to mess around with, so be alert to the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. They include:
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Confusion
  • Excessive sweating
  • Fatigue or weakness
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Muscle cramps
  • Difficulty seeing
  • Increased heart rate

If you start experiencing any of these symptoms while you’re in the car, pit in immediately so you can get cooled down and rehydrated.

Wired—Shortly before driving the all new second-generation Porsche Panamera sedan, I spent a little time hammering a 911 Carrera 4S on the serpentine roads outside Munich. The 911 is fantastic, in all the ways you expect a Porsche to be.
 
Jalopnik—The Big News about the 991.2 Porsche Carrera and Carrera S was that the flat-six went from being naturally aspirated to twin-turbocharged. As you know, turbocharging a car usually deadens the sound a bit and drops the redline. And since sound is a big part of the 911's following, I’m sure there was some lamenting from the diehards.

The Smoking Tire via YouTube—​​​​​​​The Porsche 997 Turbo can now be had for just under half it's original $160,000 MSRP, and at that price, it's a screaming deal. Much prettier and with a better interior than the "Value Turbo" 996 that came before it, the Mezger-engined GT coupe takes well to modifications and provides a sporty and comfortable place to spend your time. This one's been modified a bit with a Speedtech exhaust and, more importantly, the DSC Sport Controller, which turns a passive adaptive suspension system into an active one.
 
Autoblog—With the sun setting over Circuit of the Americas, the magnificent new Ford GT Le Mans racecar roars, snarls, and pops as the driver lifts going into a series of chicanes flanked by broad red, white, and blue stripes. A bald eagle flies overhead. Maybe. It's quite the spectacle. But it's all rather put to shame when a four-cylinder Porsche blitzes past the GT at full throttle as if it was a rental Mustang that took a wrong turn out of the nearby Austin, Texas, airport.

Motor1—I recently spent meaningful hours fussing with a spreadsheet, in an effort to see which convertibles measure out best for drivers of large stature. It’s fair to say that I dig cars with a roof-free mode.
 
The Drive—Key the term “Rijkspolite” into Google Images, and it’ll return pages upon pages of awesome and unusual police vehicles. Vintage Range Rovers, Volvo and BMW E30 wagons, a Mercedes 190E sedan, Citroën H vans. But the Rijkspolite, the Netherland’s state police between 1945 and 1996, are best known for their affinity for Porsches.

But I got in before the boom, and now I’m stuck with a car I can never sell, as I’ll never be able to afford to get another. I’m just a regular guy with no money who stumbled into a 911. Here’s what it’s really like to own one.
 
Petrolicious—Nobody should need an excuse to go to Circuit Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, but when you can say that it’s to follow a pair of beautifully prepared SWB Porsche 911s, the journey immediately gets more interesting. For the second year running, I was invited to join the team from JAZ Porsche on its way to Spa to watch it push its 911s for six hours, against more than 100 other classic cars in one of the world’s best historic endurance races.
