PCA—Porsche Club of America is proud to report the Motor Press Guild last night awarded
Camden Thrasher with the Bob D’Olivo Award for Photography. It is the fourth year in a row one of Porsche Panorama’s contributors has won the award for their photos that appeared in the magazine.

Some Cayennes never find themselves off-road, but in "Meet Otis," by Randy Wells, learn how two members enjoy their Porsche SUV on anything but blacktop. A well-loved 1973 911T has spent its life with several owners; find out in "Time Traveler," by Bruce Sweetman, how it came to shine again in its Viper

/Drive via YouTube—Matt Farah and Grand Am Rolex GT champ Leh Keen test out a crazy
fast, race-ready 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo by BBI Autosport on the road and circuit. How will it stack up against its SHOOTOUT competitors?

PCA—Ed.: With winter officially starting tomorrow morning, much of North America braces for the cold white stuff to blanket its roads. Now's a great time to revisit a few videos from 2015 during our time at Team O'Neil Rally School, which cover vehicle-control tips and techniques for snowy weather. In the three videos that follow, learn the basics of rear-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive car control on loose terrain, plus the importance of
looking ahead.
PCA—Registration for Werks Reunion Amelia Island opened last week, and already, 300+ Porsches have been registered. If you plan to display your Porsche, head over to WerksReunion.com to register.
Autoblog—Well, this is cute. You may
remember that in 2014 Audi made a video to welcome Porsche, its corporate sibling, back to Le Mans racing. It involved an Audi race car, a farmer on an old Porsche tractor, and the street in front of Porsche HQ. With Audi leaving Le Mans after a successful 18-year run, Porsche is returning the favor with this sort of sappy video.
Petrolicious—A few months ago, I was hit by a car on my bicycle. Which you’d think would make me hate cars like many of my fellow two-wheeling friends who believe the world would be a better place with no cars at all. The wreck could have killed me and did leave me with significant concussion-related brain damage, among lots of
other frustrating soft tissue injuries and a broken rib. In short, it made getting out of bed difficult and enjoying much of anything at all even harder.
The Drive—Did you know Ellen DeGeneres is kind of a Porsche enthusiast? I mean, aside from the fact that she's married to a woman named Portia, she has been known to regularly drive Porsche sports cars as daily rides. Perhaps because of this, but more likely because of her average of 3.9 million viewers per episode, Ellen was invited by Porsche to their Experience Center in Carson for a day of
driving.
Six pistons had been fired awake without a clue they'd be pounding us down paths founders of this country had squatted, built and defended. Their needs were simple; air, gas and a bit of spark — and so were ours.
Forbes—Zotye Auto has launched the controversial new SR9 SUV on the Chinese car market. Why is it so divisive both in China and abroad? Because it’s a near-perfect clone of the Porsche Macan.
You’re not wrong. What
we’ve got here is the Porsche Macan Turbo with Performance Package – to give it its full and unnecessarily long name. The Macan, remember, is Porsche’s baby-SUV. One down from a Cayenne, it rivals the Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q5 and similar. We like it a lot.
PCAR
MOUNTS—The PCAR MOUNT® is purpose-built for the classic 911. The bracket, brace, and adapter system create a rock-solid platform for mounting any smartphone, portable GPS, or track day device in a perfect driver-line-of-sight location. Installation is clean, simple, non-invasive, and completely reversible. There’s no interference with windshield vision, ventilation, or switch controls. Check out our video and see the PCAR MOUNT in action.
The Drive—Instagram and Porsches pair quite well. We love how our cars are shaped, and we enjoy it when others enjoy our cars. Of course we're going to take lots of pictures of them and broadcast them for the whole world to see. There are some folks who are much better at it than others, however.
Car and Driver—The latest Porsche 911 RSR, a full-fledged race car for 2017 competition, has adopted a mid-engine configuration that has Porschephiles around the world speculating that this radical change might be reflected in the next production 911, too.
Forbes—In September 1954 Porsche successfully answered the request of U.S. distributor Max Hoffman for a lower cost Porsche, a car that could sell for less than $3000. Porsche had no choice but to listen as 75 percent of Porsche
production headed to the U.S. After the commercial failure of the alloy-bodied America Roadster, Porsche turned to its bodybuilder Reutter to cost-effectively develop a variation of the 356 Cabriolet, and the Speedster was born.
Automobile—The 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo is not a car. Well, yes, it has seats and four wheels and it moves under its own power much like a car, but anyone who thinks this brutal black bullet was conceived and built merely to convey humans from home to office to tennis club should immediately click off this Web page and head
somewhere more suitable to their world view. Panda videos on YouTube would be good.
Road & Track—Leh Keen loves Porsches. He's also extremely talented at driving them. For proof, look no further than this video of him passing almost everyone else on the track. Twice. He also managed to lap Laguna Seca in a Singer-modified 911 faster than a Ferrari 458 Italia. Clearly, the guy
knows his stuff.
Motor1—With the second-generation Panamera, Porsche
has managed to fix basically everything that was wrong with the first model: the bulgy and awkward rear end. Further changes will occur at the back as the folks from Stuttgart are putting the finishing touches on a first-ever wagon body style that will retain most of the sedan’s sleek body, but with a reshaped rear end to accommodate a larger trunk.
Petrolicious—No matter how hard you try to stop the triumphal procession of the turbocharger, it is a development you can’t run (or drive) away from. As one of the last mass production sports car manufacturers Porsche banned naturally aspired engines on the 911 almost exclusively for the upcoming model year 2017. It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time.
Road & Track—Aircooled Porsche 911s seem to get more expensive every day. Many are bought as investment pieces, stored in a heated garage and started once a month so they stay in tip-top shape. These 911s though, are not garage queens. These are flame-spitting Group 4 rally monsters.
Motor1—The most expensive new
Porsche 911 money can buy these days would have to be the Turbo S Cabriolet kicking off at a hefty $200,400 in United States. The aftermarket specialist at Wimmer RS were not completely satisfied with the 580 horsepower (427 kilowatts) delivered by the biturbo 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine mounted at the back and decided to invest almost $55,000 to bump its output to a massive 840 hp (626 kW).
Krispy Media via YouTube—Where do I begin. This project has consumed my life for the past month like no other has before. From sorting through 2TB of footage from 3 different cameras to sourcing music to 5am edits this documentary has really kicked my butt. However, watching this film back for the first time made me smile so big and realize how much ass we kicked right
back.
Reuters—Volkswagen AG has agreed to pay more than
$200 million into a fund created to cut diesel pollution, part of its agreement over about 80,000 3.0-liter diesel vehicles that emitted more than the U.S. legal limit, a person briefed on the settlement told Reuters.
The
Drive—Back in 2011, Porsche hired German engineer Alexander Hitzinger away from Red Bull's Formula 1 empire to head their LMP1 program as Technical Director. Though the car wouldn't race until 2014, there was a lot of work to do behind the scenes, getting the team up to speed before taking on the best and brightest at Audi and Toyota.
Business Wire—ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) and Porsche today announced a multi-year extension to their global framework agreement that has seen more than one million Porsches roll off factory lines filled with Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. This number continues to rise as Mobil 1 oils consistently deliver on their promise of fuel economy benefits and engine wear protection.
