PCA—Vintage Porsches have been arguably one of the most active sub-markets in the overall classic
car market of the last five years. Certainly, there’s been some cooling-off of late, particularly among long-hood 911s, but even still, many of the nice ones remain above six-figures. It might be time to pay more attention to the overlooked and the up-and-comers in the Porsche world.

PCA—2017 marked the 25th running of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which has now become the de facto British motor show. Started as a hill climb up the drive of Lord March’s West Sussex country house, the Festival is now a four-day motoring extravaganza.

The Porscheplatz is located trackside at Turn 6, and provides great view of all the racing action. PCA—Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Car Week, and is the only event where classic race cars are doing what they were originally intended to do — race. Road & Track—Porsche only offered its latest 911 GT3 RS with a PDK dual-clutch transmission, but the company developed a six-speed manual gearbox that works with RS's 4.0-liter flat-six for the 911 R and the current GT3. Now, Florida Porsche shop BGB Motorsports and its owner, John Tecce, says they're the first company in the world to swap a 911 GT3 RS' PDK for the six-speed from the R.

These cars require patience, deliberate inputs, and respect for their significant rear-wheel weight bias. YouTuber Showdown911 just put on a masterclass driving a 993 at the tricky Nurburgring, keeping up with the more modern, track-ready Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

Road & Track—Porsche's GT2 RS world premier at the Goodwood Circuit couldn't surprise anybody, mostly because the car has already been revealed by Microsoft nearly a month earlier. As for the specs, we could guess them: a GT3 RS, plus more, and some.

Inside EVs—We may have to wait until 2023, but Porsche plans to make its half its lineup electric by then.

Porsche wasn’t on board with electrifying many models last we checked. The company believed that the configuration couldn’t give its cars the power that is expected of the brand. However, now the luxury car maker is singing a different tune.

Porsche—Porsche has seen a clear upwards trend in the first six months of this year: With 126,497 vehicles delivered worldwide, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG exceeded the high figure from the previous year by seven per cent in the first half of 2017. The sports car manufacturer has never before delivered so many vehicles in the first six months of a year.
