 PCA—To many people, it was a shame when the 991.1 GT3 and GT3 RS both arrived with no option for a manual transmission.
Porsche wised up and will offer a six-speed manual with the 991.2 GT3, but you’ll have to wait until later this year before it’s available. In the meantime, the first reviews of the PDK-equipped car are starting to trickle out — and the verdict is quite good so far.

PCA—Scotland might not spring immediately to mind for an epic road trip — it didn’t for me — but after perusing the stunning scenery captured within the eighth and latest entry in publisher Delius Klasing’s “Curves” series, one might do well to reconsider, because it is plainly evident from the mountain passes and forest trails to lochs and coastal views that Scotland is an underappreciated driving paradise.

Automobile—When the Porsche Club of America puts on an event like the California Festival of Speed, a weekend long extravaganza at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, you best believe you’re going to see Porsches — lots of Porsches. Everywhere. From the parking lot to the track, where streetcars and purebred racecars from every era in Zuffenhausen’s history did battle. 356s. 928s. 944s. 912s. Even the mighty Carrera GT made a star turn.
 
Oversteer by Autotrader—After a successful cross-country drive in Apollo 911, my 1999 Porsche with 248,000 miles, I asked the Oversteer and YouTube peanut gallery what I should do next. The resounding answer: TRACK IT! That's an insane proposition, given there's nothing more abusive -- but Apollo 911 is like an aging 1990s action-film star: Despite being well past his prime, he can't stop making macho movies. So I said Hasta la Vista to prudence -- and I hit the track.

Automobile—The Toyota Tundra may have towed a near-300,000-pound space shuttle back in 2012, but Porsche’s latest feat is just as impressive. A Cayenne S Diesel has towed an Airbus A380, setting a new world record for the heaviest aircraft pull by a production car.

The Drive—On the eve of my great road trip, I'm starting to get a little nervous. I went to the gas station to fill up on 87 octane. I checked, and re-checked the oil. I am leaving at 5AM tomorrow, and at this point all I can do is cross my fingers and hope.

Autotrader—In the world of high-performance sports cars there is no more recognizable silhouette than that of the 2017 Porsche 911. Coveted for its performance abilities, styling and sheer driving pleasure, the Porsche 911 truly has no equal. One can't even talk about the 911 as a single car because Porsche offers such an enormous number of models and trims.

Car and Driver—Although South Africa is far from Porsche’s largest market (that’s China), it does hold the distinction of housing the Porsche dealership with the largest footprint anywhere in the world.

Road & Track—Porsche stopped building the 918 Spyder in 2015, but for some reason, the company was recently testing a Weissach Package-equipped example at the Nürburgring. In fact, the 918 seen testing wears the same Martini livery as the car that ran a record-setting sub-7:00 lap back in 2013, though with a slightly different Stuttgart license plate.

The Drive—Call it a disservice or a keen investment, but RM Sotheby's has a 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8 that, in their words, is "unused," with only six miles on its odometer. And, judging by the untouched dusty and dirty body, it looks more than just unused—it looks forgotten.

Car and Driver—When Porsche revised its roadster line last year, rechristening it the 718 Boxster, restyling it slightly, and swapping in turbocharged 2.0- and 2.5-liter flat-four-cylinder engines for its beloved 2.7- and 3.4-liter flat-sixes in standard and S models, respectively, we knew we would have to test every powertrain permutation of each to see exactly how the changes would affect their characters and capabilities.
 
Road & Track—The active rear wing on new Porsches may soon be joined by a rear diffuser that automatically deploys itself in similar fashion. That's if a recently published patent filed by Porsche with the United States Patent and Trademark Office makes the transition from idea to reality.
 
Motor1—Porsche has patented an A-pillar-mounted airbag that could conceivably make a convertible much safer in a crash. There’s nothing stopping the company from incorporating this idea into fixed roof models, too.

Jalopnik—This is no ordinary Porsche Cayenne S—it’s been kitted out with a mild lift, meatier tires, under-body armor, snorkels and a lot of other trick gear to race in Germany’s GORM Open Rally Raid. Has there ever been a more perfect Cayenne? I’m going to say no. It’s beautiful.

Car and Driver—In the late 1950s, Porsche’s rear-engined 356 line was edging up on a decade in production, and the company had its eye on a successor to its venerable and beloved runabout.
 
The Drive—Even though the Rothsport team cars could do no better than 3rd and 4th in class (115th and 117th overall), the team is happy to have completed the five days of racing relatively unscathed.
 
Motor1—The average car has a life cycle of about 7-8 years, but a hypercar is far from being average. These high-end automobiles are available for a limited amount of time and only a few hundred are produced. Case in point, the Porsche 918 Spyder made its official debut in production guise in September 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and in June 2015 after 21 months in production, the 918th and final hybrid hypercar reached the end of the assembly line. And it’s not coming back.
