PCA—Local Porsche Club of America meet-ups and other car shows usually start early in the morning, so of course coffee is a natural pairing to keep
attendees’ eyelids from drooping. But we would have struggled to see how else Porsches and the caffeinated drink are a perfect combination — until we learned the story of Mark Morgan, an illustrator whose career was boosted when people started to notice his drawings on used coffee cups.

PCA—More than a dozen GTC Carrera Cup drivers competed over the weekend of October 27 at the world class Daytona International Speedway, known for the prestigious Rolex 24 At Daytona endurance race and famous Daytona oval, including high-speed turns with 31 degrees of banking.

Motor Trend—“It’s the alpha animal of the GT stable.” In just eight words Andreas Preuninger, the man responsible for the creation of Porsche’s surgically precise 911 GT3 and the feisty Cayman GT4, neatly sums up the staggering new 911 GT2 RS.

PCA—PCA members, it's the time of year for the Fall 2017 Member Only Raffle! PCA will be giving away at least one grand prize, a Porsche 911 plus $25,000 cash. As with all PCA Member Only Raffles, there's a chance to add more grand prizes dependent on ticket sales.

PCA Club Racing—The PCA Club Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trophy East series wrapped up its second successful year over the weekend at the iconic Daytona International Speedway in Porsche Club of America (PCA)’s Oktoberfast 2017 event hosted by PCA Zone 12.
 
PCA—​​​​​​​The purpose of the contest is to design a logo for the PCA NATIONAL AUTOCROSS program. The logo will be used online, in print, on merchandise, including the need to resize easily and to look good in black and white as well as color. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing.

PCA—​​​​​​​The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Maggie Goodman-Garnett, Kansas City Region; and Ron Gordon, Chesapeake Region as members of the 2017-2019 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Manual of National Policy and Procedures (MNPP) and PCA National Bylaws. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to fill the Executive Council officer roles for the 2019-2020 term. As part of this process, the committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s Regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on the Executive Council. The timing to get suggestions to any member of the committee is no later than December 15, 2017.

Oversteer by Autotrader—Two weeks ago, I flew to Nashville to drive a Porsche 918 Spyder -- Porsche's latest and craziest supercar, which is currently commanding a $1.7 million average asking price on Autotrader. When I arrived to meet the car's owner, he handed me the key, he went over all the quirks and features he knew about, and then he told me that he had to get a meeting at his office -- and I should call him when I was done driving and filming with it.

Carfection via YouTube—The new Porsche Cayenne is the third generation of Porsche's best-seller and although it's slightly less economical than the outgoing car, it's still a lot of fun.

Car and Driver—Porsche has built its enviously profitable business around the luxury of choice. Choices such as 22 current variants of the 911 sports car that anchor its lineup and, within each individual model, hundreds of opportunities to select colors, materials, and features that can as much as double the already steep starting prices. But when you’re about to indulge and plunk down $100K-plus, it should take some time and care to get your car configured just so.
 
MultiBriefs—Tens of thousands of Americans die every year on our highways, and a large percentage of those tragedies are blamed on the relative speed of the vehicles involved. The greater the speed, the more likely an accident could end in serious injury or fatality — or so the thinking goes. But is this accurate?

Oversteer by Autotrader—​​​​​​​The I recently had the chance to drive the new 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo, which is a luxury sedan that is also, somehow, a hatchback. Have you ever noticed this? Everyone talks about the Panamera Turbo like it's a sedan, when it has a whole rear tailgate with a window in it. You can even climb from the rear tailgate right on into the car, in case you've been smuggled into a drive-in movie theatre in a Panamera.

Road & Track—It’s best to remember that you are only passing through, that you are a guest here: a 10-car conga line of lollipop-colored, wings-and-spoilers, hiss-crackle-and-pop dream machines, showing up unannounced at the gas stations and convenience stores of deeply rural Kentucky and Tennessee. You come to expect the instant appearance of smartphones in careworn cases, snapping for social media, even when upload speeds can seem slower than the sun’s unhurried march across the summer sky.
 
Jalopnik—SEMA cars don’t usually do it for me as they tend to be more show than go, but Kelly-Moss Road and Race built a ridiculous 911 that’s meant to go everywhere. Words cannot express how much I want to hoon a 911 through the dirt, and the car that won SEMA’s “Best Off-Road Vehicle” is extremely relevant to my interests.

Motor1—There’s no denying Porsche is one of the most technologically advanced companies on the automotive market today. It offers some of the fastest sports cars and has arguably the sexiest hybrid vehicle on sale – the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. The Truth About Cars—Established German automakers, partnered with Ford Motor Co., are beginning construction on their pan-European fast-charging network this year. The plan is to expand charging points along highways — thus making cross-continent easier for EV owners and, more importantly, future electric-car buyers.
 
Jalopnik—Some things are really heavy and awkward to load in a vehicle, like engine parts, coolers, caskets, and festive but delicate gourd centerpieces that you don’t want to break in two. Thank goodness for vehicles, like the 2019 Porsche Cayenne and some hearses, that squat down in the rear.

The Drive—You can brush your teeth and comb your hair by the strange new brake discs on the freshly redesigned 2019 Porsche Cayenne. The optional upgrade, dubbed the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB), acquires over time a smooth and highly reflective patina as the pads polish the rotor’s tungsten-carbide coating.

Porsche Newsroom—The German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has given its approval for the software update submitted by Porsche for review. Porsche will now go about bringing all affected vehicles in to garages to perform the software update, which is free of charge.
 
Forbes—While it's been a heckuva long time since the enterprise-tech industry sparked innovations that then jumped into the consumer world, luxury-car maker Porsche is revving up a totally new business model based on the cloud-computing paradigm: Porsche as a Service.

PCA—The editors of Panorama are working on some stories and they need your help: We’d love to tell the story of the long-time connection between pilots and Porsches. From the service men and women who discovered Porsches while based in West Germany in the 1950s to the present. If you’re an Air Force pilot or a Naval Aviator, or if there’s one in your family, we’d love to make it part of this story. Photos are key, we’d love some shots of the Porsche and its pilot owner taken with the planes that he or she flew (or flies).

We’re also looking for a really special Cayenne. One that’s been a family member for a long time, a Cayenne that’s been everywhere and done everything. Preferably one with crazy high miles.
