Motorbooks based in Germany has always been respected for its incredibly well-researched, written, and produced motor books, including the iconic Carrera RS by Dr. Thomas Gruber and Dr. Georg Konradsheim, which was reissued to much acclaim in 2015. The logo will be used online, in print, on merchandise, including the need to resize easily and to look good in black and white as well as color. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing. ​​​​​​​Submission deadline has been extended to December 15.

Motorsport.com—Porsche is continuing development work on the planned successor to its LMP1 engine, despite exiting the category, but its bosses will not be drawn on rumours of it entering Formula 1.

PCA—​​​​​​​The Executive Council has appointed Ken Hold, Bluegrass Region; Maggie Goodman-Garnett, Kansas City Region; and Ron Gordon, Chesapeake Region as members of the 2017-2019 Nominating Committee. The committee is carrying out its responsibilities in accordance with the Manual of National Policy and Procedures (MNPP) and PCA National Bylaws. Its goal is to consider, identify, and select the best possible slate of candidates to fill the Executive Council officer roles for the 2019-2020 term. As part of this process, the committee actively seeks feedback from PCA’s Regions on those talented individuals who have the enthusiasm, dedication, and leadership to serve on the Executive Council. The timing to get suggestions to any member of the committee is no later than December 15, 2017.

Petrolicious—I recently went to São Paulo for the Formula 1 weekend at Interlagos, but my stay in the city was part of a longer trip I’d taken around South America. I visited several collections, met some noteworthy drivers, and made more than a few new friends, and now that I’m back in one place again, I’ll be sharing those experiences over the coming weeks and months. We started with the Autoclasica, and today we’ll be looking at a unique 356.
 
Motorsport.com—Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt tested a Carrera Cup Porsche at Winton in Australia earlier this week.

Top Gear—You know what a Panamera is. It’s Porsche’s riposte to the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8; big, sumptuous barges that for the most part deploy as much technology as is humanly possible to keep their drivers far removed from the business of, you know, driving. This is not Porsche’s aim. Theirs is quite the opposite, in fact.

Motor1—Whether we like it or not, the future of autonomous cars is upon us, but some automakers have already made the promise to keep the steering wheel for as long as legally possible. At the end of September, Lamborghini said it will be the last brand to offer an autonomous car and now another member of the vast Volkswagen Group has made a similar statement.
 
The Drive—One of my dreams has always been to order up one of my favorite cars from the factory then go take delivery right off the assembly line. Something about meeting your new car steps from where it was born sounds like such a spiritual experience. Just outside of the Porsche’s development center near Stuttgart there’s a group of passionate individuals that meet relive this experience again and again.

Porsche Panorama wants to hear from you!
PCA—The editors of Panorama are working on some stories and they need your help: We’d love to tell the story of the long-time connection between pilots and Porsches. From the service men and women who discovered Porsches while based in West Germany in the 1950s to the present. If you’re an Air Force pilot or a Naval Aviator, or if there’s one in your family, we’d love to make it part of this story. Photos are key, we’d love some shots of the Porsche and its pilot owner taken with the planes that he or she flew (or flies).

We’re also looking for a really special Cayenne. One that’s been a family member for a long time, a Cayenne that’s been everywhere and done everything. Preferably one with crazy high miles. If you think you might be the owner of that Cayenne and have some great stories to tell, let us know! If so, please contact us below.
