PCA—The Mission E, Porsche’s electric-powered sedan concept unveiled in 2015 and subsequently approved for
production, has been seen in | | various levels of development. They’ve all worn camouflage or a body similar to the concept’s — suicide doors included — so we’ve wondered when we’ll see something that’s more representative of what you’ll be able to buy come 2019. Porsche just dropped a big hint with the world
premiere of the Mission E Cross Turismo today at the Geneva Motor Show. |

PCA—With the addition of PCA’s Werks Reunion, Amelia Island has solidified its position as a magnet for incredible Porsches, both on display and for sale. Gooding and Company
and RM are bringing incredible special collections that we’ve highlighted previously. In fact, the Amelia Island auctions this year have what is likely the most incredible and wide-ranging assortment of Porsches for sale that we’ve seen at auction. Because of this, picking just five to highlight winds up being an essentially random task. Nevertheless, here are five stand-outs from a totally stand-out crowd. | | PCA—Werks Reunion in Amelia Island is this Friday, March 9, from y AM to 4 PM at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort. Join us for a day of celebrating Porsche! Free admission for spectators, $20 parking fee.Read More |
Jalopnik—As we’ve written about previously in these parts, Johnny Bohmer, like us, likes the cars to go fast. One of his latest runs? A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach, that he got up to 218 mph, or a hair faster than Porsche says the car should go.

| | Jalopnik—You’re probably thinking the car in the picture above is some sort of modified Porsche 911, but then you’d be wrong, because—despite its looks—it’s not a 911 at all. It’s a RUF SCR 2018, and its platform is completely custom-built. |
Autoblog—Stefan Weckbach, the head of electric vehicles at Porsche, devoted an interview to filling in more of the Mission E picture. The guiding principle behind the battery-powered four-door sports sedan with room for four people is to "deliver on the promises customers are familiar with from our conventionally powered vehicles." The company's hired more than 1,000 employees to work on
combining future powertrains with modern detailing, so the Mission E buyer can expect thought-out details such as recesses built into the battery compartment and the floor to provide more legroom for backseat passengers.

| | Road & Track—Manufacturers use test mules to develop future cars on the road without revealing production designs. Sometimes though, these mules are as cool — if not cooler — the the final product. Here are nine of our favorites. |

Petrolicious—A quick glance through the advert section in the back of many magazines will show you what prices a (relatively) common 911 in good condition commands these days. It’s been the topic of much talk over the past half-decade, but what about a much rarer example of the breed? How do you value an ex-works rally car, one of only ten 4×4 cars Porsche ever competed with, including the
959s? And what if it was the only one of those ten cars that was privately owned? That Porsche would be held aloft in the realms of motoring mythology, and the value would be simply priceless, in my opinion. | | Photo by Robb Pritchard / courtesy Petrolicious |

| | Road & Track—Porsche's "Paint to Sample" scene is pretty big right now, and judging by all the cool, individualized colors the manufacturer has on offer, it's easy to see why. Hell, there's a whole Instagram account dedicated to GT3s ordered with special Paint to Sample finishes. But we think this color, painted on this 1979 911 Turbo, takes the
cake. |
PCA—Porsche Parade 2018 Phase 1 Registration is open! Have you reserved your housing? Ample options are still available. Phase 2 Event Registration will open April 2.
Porsche Parade, PCA's annual weeklong event, takes place in a new location each year. For 2018, we're heading to the midwest — the summer resort town of Osage
Beach on the Lake of the Ozarks. In addition to traditional Parade activities such as concours, autocross, time-speed-distance and gimmick rallies, the location provides family friendly fun with watersports, boating, golf, an indoor waterpark, and more.
| | Road & Track—The 908 series caused a lot of headaches at Zuffenhausen. It was developed from the 907, so Porsche could have the largest engine the FIA allowed: a 3.0 flat-eight instead of a 2.2, producing 350 horsepower instead of just 270. The new race car started out as a coupe in 1968 (908/1), lost it roof for the following season (908/2), and then became even lighter and
shorter for 1970. |
Autoblog—The two Dutch entrepreneurs behind Voitures Extravert (VE) want to forestall the day when classic vehicles can't be driven through European city centers. Their method of doing so is by converting vintage Porsche 911 donor cars, from late Sixties models through to late Eighties models, into electric vehicles. The result is called either the Quintessenza SE if it's done with a pre-1974 911 body, or the Quintessenza TE when performed on a late
Seventies or Eighties body.
Jalopnik—I am neither proud nor ashamed of my coffee habit. I learned to drive in the Seattle area as Starbucks was well on its way to world domination, so I knew from an early age that a cupholder is one of the bare necessities a car must have. Even my race car! Adding a cupholder in my Porsche 944 is the best $3 I’ve ever spent. In fact, it may have even saved my engine.Read More |

Autoblog—They're out, they're back in. Following a report a week ago that Porsche was planning to discontinue production of all its diesel vehicles, the brand's head of sales and marketing tells Automotive News that Porsche expects to launch a diesel version of the Cayenne in 2018 and maybe even the Macan crossover.

Canada Region. "My 2008 Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 seems to get very little recognition. Perhaps that’s because only 500 of this limited edition Carrara White model were produced, and just 38 were delivered in the USA and 12 in Canada. My local dealer just outside Toronto sold five of them, so you could say they’re pretty common around here! I often get asked about the number plate, S PD ED2, and usually respond by asking people to look at the car for
clues." Got a stunning shot you want to share? Submit your pictures to potw@pca.org. Be sure to include your contact information, your region name, and a few sentences about your picture. |
