PCA—Like a fine wine, Porsche Club of America’s Treffen North America event keeps
improving with age. These biannual get-togethers are continually gaining popularity among PCA members, a perception that was on full display at Treffen Tamaya in New Mexico two weekends ago. | | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online
and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1991 944 S2, a2007 911 GT3, and a 2009 Cayman. |
PCA—Join
us at the Porsche Club of America Car Corral for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park, Detroit Michigan, June 1-3, 2018. The event will feature the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship, the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks and the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli.
| | PCA—Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where vintage race cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race.
And what better way to enjoy
this step back into history than to watch the races from the PCA Car Corral and Hospitality Tent? The Car Corral and Hospitality Tent are open to PCA members and Porsche owners. This year our Corral and Tent are located inside Turn 5. For those of you that attended the Porscheplatz at Laguna Seca, you know this is probably one of the primo-viewing areas on the track.

| | Road & Track—Performance-car engineers are naturally very competitive, but that doesn't mean those from rival automakers can't be friendly. Case in point—while testing the new ZR1, the Corvette team gave Porsche an hour of Nürburgring time to test its new 911 GT3 RS, when it set a stunning 6:56.4 lap time. |

| | Jalopnik—When buying a used performance or specialty car, a pre-purchase inspection is key. This is true even when you’re working with a legit dealer who makes a convincing argument that their car is top notch. In fact, that’s when your guard should be at its highest. This story should convince you to always get an independent evaluation. |
Motor1—Germany's DP Motorsport is undertaking a multi-part project that aims to create the ultimate version of the 1989 911 Speedster. The car still awaits the major mechanical upgrades, but the aesthetic upgrades show that this could be an incredibly impressive creation when the job is complete.
| | Motorweek via YouTube—We take our turn in the naturally aspirated Porsche 911 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring. Spoiler alert...it's basically a race car. |
Road & Track—Porsche brought its Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid race car to New York City, and drove it on the streets. The pictures are ridiculous.

| | The Drive—Former endurance racer Hurley Haywood turned 70 last week, an occasion recognized by Porsche's U.S. headquarters in Atlanta. |
Oversteer by Autotrader—I recently had the chance to drive a 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo, which is the most expensive production station wagon ever. The sticker price on the one I drove was something like $183,000, which is a lot of money for any vehicle, but especially for a family truckster. Naturally, being a fan of station wagons, I loved it.
| | Motorweek via YouTube—The 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS stay true to the driving experience they're known for. We test both of them on the track and the street. |
Motor1—They say a (spy) picture is worth a thousand words, but when it comes to seeing prototypes of future models undergoing testing, a video is always better. Here we have the hardcore 718 Boxster Spyder that Porsche has been working on for quite some time. The Boxster may be the company’s entry-level sports car, but this one is significantly different than the others as it’s expected to borrow the engine from the 911.
| | Road & Track—As a part of the upcoming Nürburgring 24-Hour race festivities in May, Porsche has announced it will bring the upgraded 919 Evo Le Mans race car to the track for a demonstration lap just before the green flag drops. It will be joined by a Porsche 956C, the car that still holds the overall lap record on the Nordschleife.Read More |

CNET—How do you improve on a car that is already punching well and truly above its weight? The 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS was a machine that, in our testing, utterly vanquished two of my favorite track-oriented sportscars, the Mustang GT350R and Dodge Viper ACR. There and elsewhere, the GT3 RS easily stood toe-to-toe with nearly any track-focused car on the road, including those costing many times more.
Motor1—Porsche has been caught testing a lime green test mule of the refreshed Macan. While not immediately obvious, this model does still wear a little camouflage, these photos are still among the best look yet at the upcoming changes for the German automaker's popular SUV. Read More |

| | Automobile—A flimsy air fence is the only thing separating my borrowed Porsche 911 GT3 RS from the baddest-ass racetrack on earth. The proximity is so tempting, you could hardly blame me for my smoldering fantasy to ditch the Nürburgring’s sterile Grand Prix circuit and hit the hallowed Nordschleife, unfettering all 512 horses on the forest-lined über
track. |
Motor1—Sorry, Porsche 918 Spyder owners because you'll need to take your supercar to the dealer for a recall. Porsche will repair 305 examples of the 2015 model year 918 in the United States because the connecting shafts for the suspension control arms could crack. |
