PCA—Remember back in the day when Porsche 356 Speedsters were cheap and disposable? I don’t, but I’m sure some reading this do. This is the story
of one such Speedster, which met its end one afternoon decades ago. It was being used more like a pickup truck — an odd purpose for such a valuable Porsche nowadays, but at the time it was just a car. | | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche
Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1974 911 race car, a 2009 Boxster, and a 1987 944S.Read More |

| | Porsche via YouTube—Episode 6 of 9:11 Magazine shows the highlights from SEVENTY years of Porsche sports cars. On June 8, 1948, the first car bearing the name Porsche made its debut: the 356 “No. 1” Roadster. A journey in time through seven decades and into the future, from the forefather of
the 911 to the Mission E.

Motor1—Think of a Porsche engine, and your mind likely immediately goes to one of the company's flat-six mills. Whether air or liquid cooled, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, these are the powerplants that the brand remains famous for. However, the company's engineers have shown impressive skill at developing other engine layouts, too, particularly four cylinders.
Photos by Chris Koch and Madalina Ene / courtesy Petrolicious | | Petrolicious—My favorite road trips count their kilometers by the thousand, and I’m lucky enough to have married someone who shares my enthusiasm for exploration. My wife Madalina and I have spent 10,000km glued together on a Harley Davidson, we’ve trekked across Patagonia in a Jeep Wrangler, and we showed up to the airport on our honeymoon pushing my 356 Speedster replica through the tunnel where it conveniently decided to take a mechanical nap. The
point is, she’s a terrific sport, and my absolute favorite person to have next to me regardless of the means of locomotion. |
Motor1—Driving a rear-wheel-drive car on a damp and twisty road is a bit tricky, especially when the car in question is a 700-horsepower monster. That being said, in the hands of professional driver Dolf Dekking, suddenly the 911 GT2 RS doesn’t seem to be that scary widowmaker some people like to call Porsche’s range-topping 911.
| | Forbes—There are some icons that shout and there are others that quietly enjoy their privileged status. Porsche Design P’8478 Aviators are the latter.

Autoblog—The last Porsche 911 Speedster capped off the old 997-generation 911. It was basically a convertible Carrera GTS with a slight humpback and a number of performance and styling changes. A new Speedster has been rumored to be in the works for a while. These new spy photos show that Porsche is indeed working on a new drop-top 911, and it looks far more GT3 than GTS. |
Petrolicious—Roger Kaege first saw a Singer-modified Porsche in a magazine back in 2009 and was drawn to the car’s appearance and ethos. He’s not alone in that regard, but looking into the cost of ownership put him on a different path toward parking a “modern vintage” Porsche in his garage—Roger happens to be a vehicle and chassis engineer, so he decided to take the project on himself. He’s poured 2,000 hours into the build since he bought the base
car, a rear-wheel drive 993, and though he was inspired by Singer he didn’t set out to recreate their work.Watch Video

Motor1—After a few months of seeing Porsche test the upcoming 718 Boxster Spyder in cold weather on snow-covered roads, the upcoming droptop is finally on more appropriate ground in new spy shots of the model at the Nürburgring. The roadster continues to look great, but we hope Porsche take the bikini-style top off soon to reveal how the new nacelles flow into the open-roof design. |
InsideEVs—Generally, most of the races we find and share are of the quarter-mile variety, which makes sense since that’s really a standard metric, like zero-to-60-mph times. One big complaint from many is that an electric car with huge initial torque may perform well in a short race, but not so much in the long run. Of course, the other battle comes down to how well would these Tesla’s do on a winding track, but that’s another story,
right? | | |
| | Jalopnik—This is what Porsche calls the “Porsche Lego Big Brick 911 Turbo 3.0,” which is based off of a real car and has a name that’s just as complicated as most other real Porsche cars have. Porsche calls this Lego rendition “unique,” but all I can see when I look at it is a homicidal cartoon frog that’s also a battle car. |
Road & Track—Many Porsche enthusiasts consider the 997-generation GT3 RS 4.0 the greatest 911 of all-time. A step up from the already magnificent 997 GT3 RS, it represented the pinnacle of Porsche performance from the 2000s into the 2010s, with amazing handling characteristics, a six-speed manual transmission, and a lovely 4.0-liter flat-six capable of revving to 8400
rpm.Read More | | |
Motor1—Controversial tuner Mansory had a busy 2018 Geneva Motor Show where it brought everything from a Mercedes-AMG S63 to a Bugatti Veyron, with a golf cart thrown in to spice up the lineup. Now, the aftermarket specialist based in Brand, Germany has turned its attention towards the Porsche 911 in the Turbo S specification.

Petrolicious—There’s still a lot of white stuff falling down around the world, but most of the snow in Europe has been reduced to islands of dark grey slush at this point, and there are few better ways to symbolically step into springtime than going on a drive with some friends. | | Photo by Rosario Liberti / courtesy Petrolicious |

Motor1—Porsche is investing billions in its electrified future, but it’s also not neglecting its gasoline and diesel engines. In fact, through the voice of its Chairman of the Executive Board, Oliver Blume, the company has declared it is committed to keep the ICE alive, because it will be an integral part of the industry in the next decade. Even more, Porsche thinks the diesel engine is far from being dead.Read More |

$2,091) and only gets pricier.Read

Photo by Mike Dirkes. California Central Coast Region. "I had just purchased my 2016 Cayman GTS and my longtime friend Peter Lane was down from Seattle with his 1957 356 Speedster for the Porsche 356 Registry North Meets South event in Paso Robles, CA. So, we took our cars wine tasting. The 'Generation Gap' photo is taken at the Baileyana Winery in Edna Valley, San Luis Obispo, CA. The cars are as different as night and day, yet both are fun to drive in their own unique ways. We had a
great time driving the back roads of San Luis Obispo County." Got a stunning shot you want to share? Submit your pictures to potw@pca.org. Be sure to include your contact information, your region name, and a few sentences about your
