| | PCA—Don Jacobs' first Porsche was a 1976 911 early Turbo clone purchased in the mid-1980s. Jacobs went on to buy a 1989 Turbo, which he still owns, and joined the Porsche Club of
America (PCA) in 1988.
After reading about High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) in Panorama, he decided to try his hand at an event. He recalls that his wife, Gayle, looked at him and said "Seriously? You're taking that car on a race track? You park it 300 feet away from any other car in parking
lots!"

| | PCA—This month's Panorama is dedicated to celebrating Porsche’s 70th birthday, with a look back at the defining moments in the automaker’s history as we celebrate its bold moves into the future. Starting with Jonathan Stein’s feature on the Gmünd coupe versus an MG TC in "356: Technology Trumps Tradition," the issue moves forward to "Fast When Nothing Was" by Art Mason,
about a time when regulations choked the U.S. automotive industry, but Porsche’s 930 Turbo brought hope. Nathan Merz's "On All Fours" looks at the 964 and Porsche’s innovations with all-wheel drive, and Csaba Csere delves into the history of PDK with "Dual-Clutch Pioneer." As we move forward, Nick Jaynes takes a look at Porsche’s first SUV, the Cayenne, and its effect on the company in "Moonshot," and Tom Voelk drives the electric future, the Taycan, in "Mission Accomplished." Last but not
least, in "30 Minuten mit Klaus" Editor-in-Chief Rob Sass talks with PCNA CEO Klaus Zellmer about Porsche's present and future. |
Road & Track—The cars that raced Le Mans in the late 1960s and early 1970s were true monsters. Machines like the Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512 S produced big power from their 5.0-liter, 12-cylinder engines, but virtually no downforce and not much thought put into crash safety. And yet, these cars, plus things like the V8-powered Lola T70 were raced hard for hours at a
stretch. | | |
| | Car and Driver—Boasting lofty horsepower ratings and prices that could be mistaken for mortgages, the Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S are two SUVs reserved for the rich and famous. While their bulky proportions and raised ride heights place them at the opposite end of the spectrum from the sports cars prized by Porsche purists, these Cayenne siblings nonetheless embody the company’s
trademark design elements and thrilling driving character. |
| | PCA—Join us for the Porscheplatz at the 21st Annual Motul Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA. You can also just relax in the tent, enjoy a cool beverage, and watch the races via live feed TV. Bring your member card or Porsche key for admittance.

Jalopnik—Thanks to the insane popularity and profitability of the Porsche Cayenne and Macan, Porsche has granted us an insane selection of the 911 to suit every single driver’s demands. But! With 24 different models in the U.S., it’s hard to sort out which coupe, Cabriolet, Targa, S or Turbo is the right 911 for you. But now we have the addition of the Carrera T in a crowded lineup.
The Drive—As vice president of marketing at the largest Porsche dealer in the country, Shiraaz Sookralli personally handled some of Champion Porsche's most valued and deep-pocketed clients. Over the last year, he collected over $2.5 million in customer deposits for dozens of the company's
ultra-exclusive 911 GT3 and GT3 RS models. |
| | Road & Track—If you haven't already heard, the Goodwood Revival happened last weekend, and it featured some of the best racing we've seen all year. This extraordinary run by British Touring Car driver Sam Tordoff in a Porsche 356 during the Fordwater Trophy is definitely one of the highlights. |
Motor1—Your future car could have a windshield with an augmented reality display to make the world have floating information straight out of the movie Minority Report thanks to a big investment from Porsche and Hyundai. The automakers along with JVC Kenwood and other companies have pumped $80 million into the Swiss firm WayRay that has been developing the AR tech to be roadworthy.
Oversteer by Autotrader—I recently had the chance to drive the 2011 Porsche 911 Speedster, which is a rather unusual vehicle. Actually, "unusual" is putting it lightly. The 911 Speedster is downright weird, and it's even weirder now that really pristine used examples are selling for something like
$300,000. | | |
| | Autoblog—With fewer than 1,000 examples in the world, and the small handful that go for sale bringing prices of over $1 million, odds are that no one reading this article will never own a 2016 Porsche 911 R. Well not a real one, anyway. However, we all could probably own this much smaller interpretation created by Ravensburger. And unlike those smug real 911 R owners, owners of this
one can take pride in the fact that they built theirs, because it's a jigsaw puzzle! |
Road & Track—Porsche is making some amazing performance cars right now. The 911 GT2 RS obliterated the Nurburgring production car lap record. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds with a seamless hybrid drivetrain that gives crazy acceleration no matter how fast or slow you're going.
| | Porsche Newsroom—Together with the former owner of the original 911, Bernd Ibold, Trödeltrupp host Otto Schulte has driven the car in the 11th running of the “Hamburg-Berlin Classic” classic-car rally. |
Motor1—People do crazy things to cars – lowered suspensions, massive wings, and wide body kits on already larger vehicles. Cars are a canvas for the owners to express themselves – stickers, decals, or wraps are just part of the equation, but some take it a step further, working directly with the manufacturer to create something unique. No, it doesn’t mean you have to like the one-off creation; however, you should at least respect the owner’s wishes. Take
this Porsche 911 GT3 for example.
| | Road & Track—We asked you on Friday what's the best cheap mid-engine sports car out there. As always, there were a ton of responses, but here are the answers we saw repeated the most. (Ed.: Can you guess the Porsches that made the list?)Read More |
Motor1—While there have been plenty of spy shots of the next-gen Porsche 911, we haven't seen the future 911 Turbo testing since July, and the last photos of the upcoming turbocharged Cabriolet arrived in June. Finally, these shots provide a fresh look at the roadster with forced induction, and it even has the roof down. |
Road & Track—The 356 has rapidly become one of Porsche's most desirable classics. As prices rise, more and more 356s are getting tucked into garages, only to be driven to Cars & Coffee events on days with perfect weather. This 356 does not live that sort of life.

| | PCA—Every few years, Porsche Panorama conducts a survey of its readership to ensure that we produce the Porsche content you want to read about. Make the magazine yours by filling out the survey in its entirety. It should only take about five to ten minutes. Only current members and Test Drive participants logged in to the PCA website are allowed access to the

PCA—To celebrate 70 years of Porsche, the world’s greatest sports car, Porsche Design has created a timepiece exclusively for Porsche Club of America (PCA) members: the Chronograph 70Y Sportwagen PCA Edition. Strictly limited to only 70 timepieces worldwide, this masterpiece pays tribute to the passion, commitment and camaraderie of PCA members, as well as the legendary Chronograph I,
the first-ever timepiece developed by Porsche Design. Watch purchasers have the option to receive their new timepiece during a ceremony at Rennsport Reunion VI.
| | Motor1—Getting access to a Lamborghini Aventador S is an opportunity that most people would ever have. Adding a Porsche 911 GT2 RS to the mix makes the experience even more special. Having an empty airport runway in Switzerland to unleash them is the final icing on the cake. All of these things come together in this clip that challenges the two supercars against each other in a series
of drag races. |
