PCA—To celebrate 70 years of Porsche, the world’s greatest sports car, Porsche Design has created a timepiece exclusively for
Porsche Club of America (PCA) members: the Chronograph 70Y Sportwagen PCA Edition. Strictly limited to only 70 timepieces worldwide, this masterpiece pays tribute to the passion, commitment and camaraderie of PCA members, as well as the legendary Chronograph I, the first-ever timepiece developed by Porsche Design. Read More | | PCA—The 63rd Porsche Parade held at Tan-Tar-A Resort near Osage Beach, Missouri ended on Saturday night, with a couple thousand PCA members heading home the next day. Pirelli,
one of the event sponsors, documented the most well-attended event, the Porsche Day at the Concours, on video for us to remember and to share with others. |
PCA—Porsche Parade hosted all types of events relating to Porsche, and Hagerty joined in on the fun with a seminar on buying a car from our favorite marque on a sensible budget. One such car is the 944 S2, one of Porsche's last front-engined, water-cooled, four-cylinder vehicles.

PCA—Every few years, Porsche Panorama conducts a survey of its readership to ensure that we produce the Porsche content you want to read about. Make the magazine yours by filling out the survey in its entirety. It should only take about five to ten minutes. Only current members and Test Drive participants logged in to the PCA website are allowed access to the survey.
| | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1995 911 Carrera, 1999 Boxster, and 2004 911
GT3. |
PCA Club Racing—Terry Morris' love affair with Porsche started young.
"For years in junior high, I drove past a doctor's house in Winfield, Kansas who had a series of Porsche 914s and 911s to look at," Morris said. "I loved them."

| | Car and Driver—Last year, our friends at Road & Track told you about the Singer and Williams Dynamics and Lightweighting Study, which was a wildly reimagined Porsche 911 that went beyond Singer’s usual masterpieces. But where that first glimpse was computer modeled, the first actual restorations from the partnership have arrived: a white 1990 911 (pictured here) and a red
1989 911, both making their debut at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. They are a feast for the senses, to say the very least. |
Road & Track—Singer's restored and reimagined Porsche 964 powered by a naturally-aspirated flat-six enhanced by Williams Advanced Engineering is one the most highly anticipated cars debuting at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. 125 horsepower per liter from an air-cooled six-cylinder, which also happens to make an amazing noise? That's right.
PCA—Following the Porsche victory at Le Mans, the teams will be back in North America for some exciting racing this summer. Photo by Cole Pennington / courtesy Petrolicious | | Petrolicious—In an short video released by Porsche this past May, Dr. Wolfgang Porsche proclaimed his second favorite Porsche residing in his collection is his gorgeous 1952 America Roadster. In the clip, Dr. Porsche explains how the car came with an “emergency roof” in case it rained, and how the 70HP motor made this a very quick car for the time. |
Porsche Newsroom—The “Number 1” could be forgiven for being a bit daunted by this prospect, particularly given that the outdoor temperature had risen to an oppressive 31 degrees. Even the traffic lights in the Swiss capital of Bern seemed to be against the very first Porsche, the mid-engine roadster from 1948,
allowing what seemed like no more than three cars through each time that the lights turned green.
| | Jalopnik—Safari 911s have been the hot Porsche for a while now, with fanatics lifting their cars just to go to Cars and Coffee and congratulate themselves with an Instagram photo. That is not how Jason Lightner drives his 912 rally car.Watch Video |

YouTube—Watch as David Rawberts tears up the streets of an abandoned wasteland in a BBI StreetCup 997TT powered by a 9000 RPM BBI 3.8L. Making over 850 Hp through a Holinger sequential gear box, it powers the rear wheels and sends David barreling through the streets of this ghost town.
Road & Track—Mate Rimac's career as an inventor began in high school, where he designed a glove to replace your keyboard and mouse. He got his first paycheck for an automotive patent, filed for an automatic mirror that could reduce a vehicle's blind spot. Then came some drag racing with a 1984 BMW 323i, which soon blew its engine. Mate moved forward by turning his junked E30 into an electric M3-beater, using parts bought off the web. A few years
later, his company broke a few electric speed records, and the world started to take notice. |
PCA—Porsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all
Porsche clubs, owners, and enthusiasts to Werks Reunion Monterey on Friday, August 24. Werks Reunion was created by the Porsche Club of America as an event to celebrate both the Porsche marque as well as the camaraderie of being an enthusiast.

Petrolicious—Think 928 and the distended curves of the Wolfgang Möbius-designed car, almost as recognizable as the 911 itself, come to mind after the pop-up lights and the V8 in front of the windshield. As a Porsche fan thinking about Le Mans, many cars make up the marque’s decades of success at the Circuit de la Sarthe—from the 356 to the 917, the 956 to the most recent 919. But think
of the 928 and Le Mans together and you would be excused for drawing a blank. | | Photo by Robb Pritchard / courtesy Petrolicious |
| | Motor1—Any Porsche 911 that goes up the hill at Goodwood is worth a watch. That’s doubly true for classic 911s, especially if the driver has the chutzpah to go all-in with the throttle. That’s exactly what we have here, and frankly we’re tempted to say this could be the coolest run of the entire event. That’s a bold statement considering we still have many more cars to go, but we
challenge you to watch this video and not whoop and holler for this Porsche-of-many-colors. |
| | Roadshow by CNET—Porsche has a slew of updates in the works for its smallest SUV, the Macan. But before it pulls back the cover, it wants to tease us a bit. |
PCA—Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where vintage race cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. And what better way to enjoy this step
back into history than to watch the races from the PCA Car Corral and Hospitality Tent? The Car Corral and Hospitality Tent are open to PCA members and Porsche owners. This year our Corral and Tent are located inside Turn 5. For those of you that attended the Porscheplatz at Laguna Seca, you know this is probably one of the primo-viewing areas on the track.

| | Road & Track—Shattering Nürburgring’s outright lap record was always going to be an emotional affair for Porsche and its new fastest man, Timo Bernhard. Enough so that the German manufacturer had to ponder the ramifications of pursuing Stefan Bellof’s Nordschleife legacy–a flying 6:11.130 tour from 1983 set in his Porsche 956. |
PCA—PCA Hill Country Region (HCR) has worked with Circuit of the Americas to provide an exclusive ticket offer for PCA members planning to attend the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix, October 19 – 21, 2018 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas. COTA has dedicated seating exclusively for PCA members in the T12 and T15 grandstands. Turn 12 prices range from $325.00 - $395.00 per ticket. Turn 15 prices range from $445.00 – $645.00

| | Oversteer by Autotrader—For once, it appears I've done really well for myself with my latest Porsche purchase. My 1985 911 Carrera showed up mostly as described, and has been very well-behaved since the initial sorting by my mechanic. I've been putting some serious test miles on it, as I'm mulling over driving it from Kansas to Monterey, California next month to help celebrate 70 years
of Porsche sports cars. As I've gotten to know my first air-cooled Porsche, I've found plenty to love about this sports car icon -- but there are a lot of things that bother me. |
Motor1—Porsche is putting on quite a show this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to celebrate 70 years since it’s been making sports cars. An important part of the festivities is represented by the 911 Speedster, which harkens back to the old days of the 356. It comes with a lightweight tonneau cover instead of the regular top, but that’s not what the makes the car special.Watch Video
The Drive—Porsche announced Thursday that its sales in the first half of 2018 were more than 3 percent above their 2017 figures, which was the company's previous best-ever sales figure in the first half of a year, and eventually carried the company to a new annual sales record. |
Auto Classics—Let’s get this out of the way now, shall we? The Porsche 356 here is a B, from 1960. That means it’s 12 years shy of celebrating the same 70-year anniversary as the company that built it. The 356 was Porsche’s first proper production car, though – and it set a theme that remains at the company’s core today, that of evolution as opposed to revolution. This has stood the brand in good stead. Seventy years’ worth… |
Jalopnik—In the past few weeks we’ve seen former Formula One champ Nico Rosberg piloting a number of different battery-powered vehicles: his new Energica Ego electric motorcycle, a Tesla Model X, and the ES8 SUV flagship from China’s up-and-coming Nio. As he continues his world electrification tour, we now find him at the headquarters, and later testing track, of Porsche.
