| | PCA—The sports car that took the reigns from Porsche’s stalwart 356 in 1964, the 911, was an improvement in almost every way. Yet the basic formula to which the 911 adhered — engine at the rear, rear-wheel
drive, sporting pretentions — were all present in the 356. And so it goes at Porsche, an automaker obsessed with finesse and fine-tuning rather than radical change.
Leading up to tonight’s debut of the newest generation of the 911, Porsche has sought to explain how the 911 has evolved over seven generations.

Petrolicious—In the 1970s, the Belgian gendarmerie had its stable of national police cars bolstered by the likes of BMW’s 2002ti, and later on they counted the Golf GTI and Volvo 240 Turbo among their mechanized ranks, but no cop in the country — or the rest of the world — had ever kept the streets safe with the same pace as
provided by the 2.7 RS-powered 911 Targas.

| | Fast Lane Travel—After forty five dynamic years Fast Lane (link is external) is still creating NEW tours each year that underscore the quality, ambience and enjoyment their PCA guests have become accustomed to.
From the eyes wide-open unlimited speed sections of the German Autobahn, to the hair-raising world-famous Swiss and Austrian Alpine Passes, to the very narrow, pedestrian-only, streets of ancient medieval villages, where Peter Sontag has organized special police permission to drive and park... Fast Lane Travel does it all.

| | Porsche Newsroom—Alongside Vice President Product lines 911 and 718, “Mr 911” August Achleitner, who was keen to learn what the former racing driver thought, Webber had the chance to inspect the car with its camouflage almost completely removed.

Jalopnik—Historically, the Porsche Boxster and Cayman never received the same amount of love as their 911 older sibling. Sure, there were great variants like the Cayman GT4, but never any absurd Turbo or Turbo S models, as if the mid-engine cars were purposely undercut to keep the 911
on its king’s throne. This, I suspect, has led many to believe the 911 to be inherently the superior car. They are wrong. The 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS is as perfect a sports car as they come.

| | Petrolicious—Boats are known to bob quite idyllically on the azure waters in the harbor of Rovinj, a stunning mediaeval town on Croatia’s Istrian coast. Carefully, we park the 356 on a pier so the patchwork of pastel-colored houses in the background are visible for the photoshoot, but we have to wait patiently for a crowd of tourists to take their fill of the 1963 BT6 Super 90 before
we can get to it.

Road & Track—If there's one car that represents vintage Porsche racing best, it's the 917. With a roaring engine, iconic looks, and bundles of race wins under its belt, it's truly a legend to see (and hear) out on the track. We got to witness it on the move first-hand, and it was a true delight.

Road & Track—We pick the winner of PCOTY with our hearts. The numbers aren't everything, there's more to a car than how quickly it gets to 60 or how many gs it pulls in a corner. But we also can't ignore the numbers. And that you don't want us to. So here's the hard data for all eight of this year's contenders.
