PCA—As the Los Angeles International Auto Show was opening to the press today at 8 AM sharp, Porsche unveiled its newest car, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, a 700-horsepower track weapon that is intended for track day enthusiasts,
club racers, and other types of racing. It will be limited to 200 units.
| | PCA—The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a fascinating car, one that’s clearly related to lesser 911s yet costs three times as much as a base Carrera and set a Nürburgring production car lap record. Porsche is no
stranger to ultra-high-performance track machines, but as you’ll see in this video, TPC Racing Owner Mike Levitas shows us how the GT2 RS is special.

| | PCA—Each fall and spring, Porsche Club of America opens a member only raffle, in which you, the member, may purchase entries for a chance to win a brand-new Porsche. For the Fall 2018 Member Only Raffle, the grand prize is a 911 Targa 4 GTS plus $25,000 in cash.

Porsche color experts wanted
|
PCA—As most avid PCA-ers know from Porsche Panorama Editor Rob Sass' column a few months back, we’re putting together one of PCA’s most audacious Web projects to date, a photo compendium that we hope will encompass as close to all of the colors offered by Porsche from the 356 era all of the way through the
end of the 997 era in 2012. Like most of what we do here, the as yet unnamed color site is going the be powered by volunteers. It’s getting close to the time to take the wraps off of it, but before we do that, we want a group of experts to take it for a test drive, so we’re looking for some volunteers.
What we’d like you to do it give us your thoughts on the general user interface, but more importantly, take a look at the images that we’ve pre-loaded and let us know if you think that some are mis-categorized. Since the site will encompass all eras of Porsche, we need experts on modern cars as well as classic Porsches. If you’d like to help out, please email us at ColorsBetaTest@pca.org and thank you in advance for helping us make what we hope will be one of the most entertaining and
engaging Porsche spots on the Web. We’ll respond with a timeline and instructions on how to participate.

PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1970 914-6,
2015 Macan S, and 1990 944 S2 Cabriolet.

| | PCA—Gary Jensen is competitive and his eccentric foray into Porsche racing has touted the same resiliency that Porsche manufactures - excellence.
"I started racing motocross when I was a kid. I didn't think about car racing until my son got into go-karting in 2002," Jensen said. "I started racing in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) in the open-wheel Formula Mazda Series."

| | Road & Track—When it comes to racing videos, nothing gets us more excited than in-cabin clips, especially when they come from vintage cars like this 1974 Porsche 911. If you have a few minutes to kill, we'd recommend watching this one.
This particular video comes from a 3.0-liter vintage racing 911 driven by Leh Keen, a Porsche racing driver, Safari 911 builder, and co-host of NBC Sports' '80s themed TV show Proving Grounds.

Porsche Newsroom—At the start of the third season, Porsche welcomes Ted Gushue, who has made a name for himself as an expert on rare and exclusive cars during his long-standing tenure as Editorial Director of Petrolicious. Gushue introduces the five most expensive Porsche cars in front
of Castle Solitude in Stuttgart.

| | Motor1—We’re all patiently waiting for Porsche to finally take the wraps off the hardcore 718 Cayman GT4 and its track-only Clubsport counterpart, but the folks from Stuttgart could have another model in the pipeline based on the baby 911. Remember the rally-spec concept unveiled back in August? It went on to become a fully fledged course car for the ADAC Rallye Deutschland later that
month and it’s still of great interest to Porsche.
|
Jalopnik—Yesterday, Porsche debuted a new 911 GT2 RS Clubsport in a charming black Martini color scheme. I don’t know how many recognize the car or the race it pays tribute to, but both were among the sketchiest I’ve come across.
| | |
| | The Drive—This looney LS swapped Porsche 911 with twin snails strapped to the side of the engine is a purist's nightmare, which seems to be a growing trend in the scene. It's been a long time in the making, and now that it’s done, it’s time to see how it does when taken to the track—as you can guess, it's a bit...out of hand.
|
Motor1—The 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show is in full swing, but more than 5,600 miles away in Essen, there’s another major event worth covering. It’s the place where the tuners at TechArt have brought a car with an impossibly long name – Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. Other than the body graphics, new exhaust, and those
flashy wheels, it looks just about the same as the regular version, if you can call a 680-horsepower wagon “regular.”
| | |
| | Autoblog—The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 is an ethereal thing, a car unstuck in time. While everything is getting bigger and more complicated (the 911 included), the GT3 feels delightfully anachronistic with its naturally aspirated engine, six-speed manual transmission and relative lack of creature comforts like automatic climate control, adaptive cruise or keyless entry. It's a refreshingly
simple machine, the exact sort of car I grew up worshiping in magazines and video games.
|
Porsche via YouTube—This car quickens the pulse of any motor racing fan: Porsche is planning to build just 77 units of the new Porsche 935, firing up the club sport scene. The 700-hp race car celebrated its premiere at the Rennsport Reunion 2018.
| | |
| | Automobile—We pick the winner of PCOTY with our hearts. The numbers aren't everything, there's more to a car than how quickly it gets to 60 or how many gs it pulls in a corner. But we also can't ignore the numbers. And that you don't want us to. So here's the hard data for all eight of this year's contenders.
|
Jalopnik—The 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S is all-new, and it’s bigger, faster and a little more awkward-looking. Here are the major differences between the new 992 generation and the outgoing 991.2.
| | |
| | The Drive—Porsche revived the iconic 935 race car and is planning to build just 77 examples of its successor. Unfortunately, all these cars will be only for track use unless someone decides to transform his car into a road-legal beast but that’s highly unlikely. If you want a 935 for the street, you’ll have to look back to the original race car.
|
Road & Track—Eight years after the 991 arrived on the scene, there's a new Porsche 911, the 992. It made its debut this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show in Carrera S and Carrera 4S form and it's a big deal. After all, it's only the eighth new 911 in 55 years.
| | |
Motor1—The new Porsche 911 officially debuted last night at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a beautiful presentation that not only showcased Stuttgart’s latest supercar, but paid homage to its lineage with a delightful parade of classic 911s. At first glance (and a second, and third) the 992-series seems hardly any different
from the previous model. There are differences, however, and once you spend some time scrutinizing the 991 and 992 generations side-by-side, you realize just how different – albeit subtly – the new 911 really is.

| | Top Gear—Porsche’s fascination with the Nürburgring shows no sign of abating. Speaking to TopGear.com at the LA Motor Show, Porsche Motorsport boss Frank-Steffen Walliser laid down the gauntlet for the core of whichever car supercedes the 918 Spyder hypercar.
|
Auto Express—A hybrid version of the new Porsche 911 is at least four years away from showrooms, bosses have announced.
The new 992 generation of the iconic sports car, which was launched at the LA Motor Show, has been developed to adopt hybrid technology, but 911 product line director August Achleitner has confirmed we won’t see such a model for some time. “It will be the next evolution of this car, that means at least four years from today,” Achleitner told us.
