PCA—Air-cooled Porsche 911 owners from 1964-1994 are faced with several options when it comes to headlights.
| | Aside from replacing a blown bulb for your stock H5 headlights or sourcing a set of European H4s, there are several companies who offer modern LED headlights with superior lighting. In this video, we install LED headlights from Flat 6 Illumination, Audette Collection, and 9Eleven and compare them to the stock H5 lamps.

Porsche color experts wanted
|
PCA—As most avid PCA-ers know from Porsche Panorama Editor Rob Sass' column a few months back, we’re putting together one of PCA’s most audacious Web projects to date, a photo compendium that we hope will encompass as close to all of the colors offered by Porsche from the 356 era all of the way through the
end of the 997 era in 2012. Like most of what we do here, the as yet unnamed color site is going the be powered by volunteers. It’s getting close to the time to take the wraps off of it, but before we do that, we want a group of experts to take it for a test drive, so we’re looking for some volunteers.
What we’d like you to do it give us your thoughts on the general user interface, but more importantly, take a look at the images that we’ve pre-loaded and let us know if you think that some are mis-categorized. Since the site will encompass all eras of Porsche, we need experts on modern cars as well as classic Porsches. If you’d like to help out, please email us at ColorsBetaTest@pca.org and thank you in advance for helping us make what we hope will be one of the most entertaining and
engaging Porsche spots on the Web. We’ll respond with a timeline and instructions on how to participate.

| | PCA—First published in 1992, the limited-edition “Carrera RS” book written by Dr. Thomas Gruber and Dr. Georg Konradsheim instantly became the Bible for a very special and exclusive Porsche model. Republished again after three-years of intensive work and research — and hounding by collectors inquiring if there were any more RS books hidden away — the 2015 edition was no mere reprint,
but a thoroughly reworked and expanded version with almost 40% more material including many new insights and discoveries.

| | Roadshow by CNET—Porsche would have to be crazy to shake up a product as successful as the Macan. Not only is it one of the best-driving SUVs available at any price point, it's the brand's best-selling model by a long shot. Year to date, the Macan is outselling the Boxster, Cayenne, Cayman and Panamera families — combined.

| | Motorweek via YouTube—Motorweek shares a past review of the 1992 Porsche 911 Turbo, one of the last Turbos with rear-wheel drive.
|
Autocar—The seventh-generation Porsche 911 is, in Turbo S guise, a cruise missile of a sports car. With 580bhp being sent to all four wheels and a top speed of over 200mph, there are some supercars that would have a hard time keeping up with it in a straight line.

| | |
| | Motor1—Porsche revitalized its Top 5 series last week by going through the five most expensive models ever sold, with the 917 K at $14 million claiming top spot. For this week, the folks from Zuffenhausen have decided to show on video the five fastest cars they’ve ever built for the streets. Some will be surprised to see the Porsche 911 GT1 Straßenversion, essentially a road-legal race
car, didn’t even make the cut despite hitting 191.4 mph (308 kph) back in the day.
|
Autoweek—Porsche is collectively fond of using labels or phrases, almost like a spoken jingle, to describe or conceptualize its products. So it is with the next-gen 911.
| | |
| | Oversteer by Autotrader—I recently had the chance to drive a Porsche 959, which is one of the most famous Porsche models, one of the most famous supercars and one of the most famous overall vehicles in existence. These things are currently worth well in excess of $1 million, and the 959 is the grandfather of the modern Porsche supercars like the Carrera GT and the 918
Spyder.
|
Autoblog—The only appropriate way to honor and follow-up a legend is with another legend, and Porsche thinks it has just that with the new 935. At the 2018 Rennsport Reunion, Porsche released a modern version of the famed 935/78 racecar, complete with proper Martini "Moby Dick" styling. Two new clips released by 911 Magazine show
first-hand accounts of what went into the design and production of the updated show-stopper.
| | |
| | Road & Track—If you were to look at all of our Porsche coverage over, let's say, the last year, you'd find a lot on the 911, a little less on the Boxster/Cayman and a fair bit to the upcoming all-electric Taycan. You wouldn't find much on the Macan. In just this past year, we've only written one article dedicated to Porsche's smallest SUV—a review of the GTS
variant.
|
InsideEVs—The Taycan Cross Turismo is slated to be Porsche’s second battery-powered vehicle in the Taycan product range. Set to launch at the end of 2019, the Taycan is one of the most highly expected vehicles to become available next year. However, the short time frame and the overall overwhelming demand, mean that Porsche’s engineers
need to use the most cutting-edge digital development methods, employing something known as virtual prototypes. In a nutshell, these virtual prototypes allow Porsche to test these components even before actual real-life prototypes have been built.
| | |
| | Car and Driver—From its first appearance four years ago, the Porsche Macan has established itself as a beacon of Porsche-ness in a sea of luxury compact-crossover mediocrity. With its responsive powertrains and sports-sedan-like handling, the Macan is what to drive when a 718 Cayman is too small—and that has earned this Porsche accolades as our Best Compact Luxury SUV two years
running.
|
Motor1—As something of a swan song for the 991-series 911 Turbo S, Porsche made the limited-edition Exclusive Series. The package added all kinds of carbon fiber, unique badging, and special trim, not the least of which being the cool over-the-top stripes. It also added power to the 911’s already potent twin-turbo flat-six,
bumping it to 607 horsepower (453 kilowatts). Only 500 were built, and until now, we thought they were all hardtops. Apparently, we thought wrong.
|
Roadshow by CNET—When Porsche launched the last new generation of its 911, called the 991, the iconic sports car that defines the brand for many, I couldn't help asking whether that might be the time when the car took the controversial step towards hybridization. However, I was told it wouldn't happen, that the platform
wasn't ready, and that everyone would have to wait for the next generation.
| | |
| | Autoblog—It may be hard to believe, but the Porsche Macan was released nearly five years ago. That's forever in car years, and Porsche finally decided that the time had come for a "mid-cycle" refresh: a raft of small improvements that should keep the Macan fresh until the next major redesign comes around.
|
Motor1—The new Porsche 911 officially debuted last night at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a beautiful presentation that not only showcased Stuttgart’s latest supercar, but paid homage to its lineage with a delightful parade of classic 911s. At first glance (and a second, and third) the 992-series seems hardly any different
from the previous model. There are differences, however, and once you spend some time scrutinizing the 991 and 992 generations side-by-side, you realize just how different – albeit subtly – the new 911 really is.

Jalopnik—Porsche is going all-in on electric performance in the near future, with the launch of the Tesla-fighter-with-the-worst-name Taycan, likely a hybrid 911, and a new Formula E team. This weekend Porsche gave the car its first semi-public debut during their annual Night of Champions celebration in
Germany.
|
Motor Trend—Porsche initially estimated it would sell 20,000 units per year of the all-electric Taycan. But after receiving so many early reservations, the automaker decided it will build more to meet the strong demand.
| | |
| | PCA—On the tight and viciously twisty Mallorcan mountain roads, I watched the 2019 Porsche Macan S leading me handle a hairpin with more ferocity than a mid-size crossover has any right to. It leaned heavily into its suspension and from the outside, it looked quite precarious. But, as we were keeping up with it just fine in our test car, I knew that what the they were feeling on board
was exactly what I felt. And what I felt was confidence.
|
Bloomberg—Porsche AG sells its luxury SUVs for as much as $160,000, but one accessory worth just a few hundred dollars has caused a snafu.
The German automaker recalled 2017 and 2018 Cayenne and Macan models sold in the U.S. with a ski bag, according to a notice on the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website. The warning for the add-on feature, which retails for about $200, affects roughly 250 vehicles, the agency said.
| | |
| | Jalopnik—Life got you down? Sad about how the wagons seem to be dying across the board? Do those new Audi crossovers fail to stir anything in your rally-loving soul? Friend, if you’re willing to wait just a bit longer, I have the answer to your (uniquely American) woes: the legendary Audi RS2 Avant.
|
Fortune—Porsche AG is planning to boost its profits by 6 billion euros ($6.8 billion) by 2025 as it reduces costs and focuses on digital development, Chief Executive Officer Oliver Blume told German magazine Automobilwoche in an interview.
