| | PCA—Porsche has not yet delivered a gasoline-electric hybrid 911 to the masses, yet Northern California company Vonnen is on the cusp of releasing their aftermarket system this year, starting with the 991.1-generation 911. We drove the prototype in December.

| | PCA—The Porsche market is unique in the collector car world. Although it’s experiencing a generational shift along with the market as a whole, nothing seems to be left behind by younger enthusiasts. The earliest bent window 356s from the early 1950s are trading in record territory while the 911R from 2016 costs about twice its MSRP from two years ago. Our panelists will examine
this phenomenon and discuss why Porsches from the 1950s-1960s appeal to millennials as much as to boomers. They’ll also look at cars to buy, sell and hold in every price range, from every era.

PCA—Save the date for Tech Tactics East 2019 - February 16 & 17, 2019. Registration will open on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 12:00 PM (EST). while at the same time providing valuable training on the Porsches of old. Attendees will be treated to a day of presentations by auto industry experts, including PCNA Field Specialists, PAG Project Managers, members of the PCA Technical Committee, and representatives from other companies such as Michelin, LN Engineering, and Driven Motor Oil.

Bonhams impressive lineup, for example, will include a rare 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV and an even rarer 1964 Porsche 904 GTS once owned by actor Robert Redford.

Road & Track—As great as the Porsche 911 Turbo is at being an everyday supercar, with serious tuning, it also makes for one very good runway racer. The drivetrain is stout, overbuilt, and reliable, which means tuners can make big horsepower without breaking stuff. This results in some incredibly quick straight-line speed.
Let this video demonstrate.

| | PCA—Celebrating 30 years of the 964—Porsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all Porsche clubs, owners, and enthusiasts to the third annual Werks Reunion Amelia Island on March 8, 2019, the Friday preceding the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. this free-to-spectators event, from rare classics to current models and everything in between. Display your own cherished car in model-specific Porsche Corrals or enter the Porsche Judged Field and compete to win in more than 20 prize categories.

Automobile—Porsche’s latest 911 GT2 RS massively impressed us when we first sampled it last fall, so it came as no surprise when it soon went on to set the production-car lap record at the Nürburgring before being subsequently edged out by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

| | Autoblog—As we eagerly await the launch of the all-electric Porsche Taycan (née Mission E), would-be customers are signing up to place deposits on the performance EV. One such customer, contributor at The Drive, Alex Roy, received updated Taycan pricing and nomenclature from his local Porsche "Brand Ambassador." It appears the car will start in the low $90,000 range, and come in three
variants: Taycan, Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo.

Motor Trend—Porsche celebrated its 70th year as a sports car brand in 2018, and as you can imagine, it has developed many concepts and prototypes in those seven decades. So many, in fact, that there are likely more than a few you've forgotten about or never even heard of. In this video, Porsche dives deep into its collection
to choose the top five lesser-known prototypes from its past.

| | Autoweek—My whole life, there’s been a Porsche 911-shaped blind spot in my view of the automotive landscape. I’ve always known these things were out there, obviously, and I’ve always had a generalized respect for the model and its legacy. But I’ve never spent any significant amount of time in 911s, new or old. They’re unfamiliar territory -- and there’s a pretty high intimidation
factor when it comes to learning said territory’s curves and contours. There's a lot of 911 esoterica to take in, and almost a whole new language of model designations and milestones to internalize.

Motor1—In an odd way to welcome the New Year, CarWow pitted two old-timers on a drag race – the BMW E30 M3 and the Audi RS2. Now, if those two names are eerily familiar to you, congratulations, you are a car nut. Both names were important to these German brands as both were the start of something really, really beautiful.
(Ed.: Remember, the Audi RS2 was developed by Porsche.)

| | Road & Track—Like it or not, the season of self-improvement is upon us. For the next 45 to 60 days, your gym will be crowded, your local sidewalks will teem with suffering-and-puffering neighbors gamely run-walking in outrageous coordinated outfits, and your every meal plan will be slightly derailed by someone else’s sincere commitment to a new low-carb, no-carb, gluten-free,
cruelty-free, vegan-trending, vegetarian-respecting diet plan.

Jalopnik—There is a vintage wheel that, when equipped to a rare old Porsche 356 or Mercedes 300SL Gullwing will see collectors salivate and break open their piggy banks to shell out tens of thousands. If the car was optioned with them from the factory, it might be as dear as a 6-figure value add. Are these wheels really worth
the extra hundred grand? It’s a rarity and a fun talking point, but most don’t even know the history of this knock-off hub wheel known as the “Rudge” wheel.

The Drive—A Porsche is a Porsche, of course of course, unless the Porsche is an SUV. So goes the lament of the unappeasable purist, who sees every stilted hotcake built by an exotic automaker as an affront to history. Time for a reality check: Today's performance car market mostly rides on the subsidies provided by booming
SUV sales.

The Drive—The International Motor Sports Association, founded 50 years ago, has had a massive impact on sports-car racing, and its future appears brighter than ever as the 2019 season kicks off with the Rolex 24 at Daytona January 26 and 27.

| | The Drive—Let's be honest: all I want for Christmas is the wonderful ability to roast tires on demand, and Fannar Þór's turbo LS-swapped Porsche 944 delivers.

The Drive—I just signed up on the Porsche website to place a deposit on the Taycan EV — their alleged Tesla Killer — and got the most entertaining response. According an e-mail from their local brand ambassador, the base Taycan will be called a Taycan, the all-wheel drive version will be called the 4S, and the performance
model will be called the Turbo.

| | Sportscar365—In its 70th anniversary celebrations, it was almost a storybook year for Porsche in international sports car racing competition.
The German manufacturer captured key victories in the 24-hour classics at Le Mans and the Nürburgring, while nearly completed a clean sweep of North America’s ‘Triple Crown’ of endurance races along the way.

Photo by Steve Geldman. Santa Barbara Region. "After driving miles and miles around the country, I finally stopped for
the best-priced gas I could find. In reality, I drove down the street from my home in Southern California where a friend owns a 100-acre studio TV and motion picture ranch. He was kind enough to allow me to park and take a picture of my 2013 911 Carrera S."
Got a stunning shot you want to share? Submit your pictures to potw@pca.org. Be sure to include your contact information, your region name, and a few sentences about your picture.
