| | PCA—Steve Dimakos, the owner of a new Porsche 911 GT2 RS, had a burning question: With 700 horsepower, how well would the lap times of the most powerful road-going 911 stack up against his 460-hp 991.1 GT3 Cup race car at Road America? Watch this video to find out. |

PCA—The 993 in all its configurations was the fourth-generation Porsche 911, and sold in North America for model years 1995-98. Design sketches for the 993 were first started in 1989, the year the 964-generation 911 Carrera 4 was
launched. The exterior styling design responsibilities were given to Tony Hatter, and his objective was to revise the shape and flow of the 911 body that he (and others) felt had become to some extent a little ponderous with the 964. The result was a well-balanced layout that became popular right away. | | PCA—Last year, Porsche Club of America initiated a logo contest to find an image that best represents our National Autocross program. We received over 200 submissions and narrowed the field down to five. The PCA membership voted on
the five finalists, and tabulation of thousands of votes produced a winner. PCA would like to congratulate and thank William Simon from the Rocky Mountain Region for designing the winning logo. William will receive a set of Pirelli tires and a $450 cash prize. And of course, thank you to all who voted! |
| | PCA—Save the date for PCA's annual Tech Tactics West 2018 - Saturday, December 1 or Sunday, December 2, 2018. Tickets for each day are $75.
Tech Tactics West attendees will be treated to a day of presentations by auto industry experts, including Porsche Cars North America
employees. Presentations range from the extremely technical (brake theory, fuel-injections systems, new model overviews, etc.), to updates on the Porsche market, and theory on upcoming Porsche technologies. A surprise new Porsche model is always present to get excited about as well.

PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1987 911 Carrera, 1971 911E, and 2011 Cayenne S.

Track—It's like one of those unsettling dreams where everything seems familiar but nothing makes sense: The car is obviously a Porsche 911, instantly recognizable to serious students of the marque as a 964, manufactured from 1989 to 1994. But the details don’t compute. Extra-wide black fenders have been crudely riveted to tatty dark-blue bodywork in order to clear deep-dish Fuchs-style center-lock wheels, which exist only in the fevered imagination of Porsche fanatics. The white
ducktail matches the roof’s color, but it belongs on a ’73 Carrera RS 2.7, not a 964. Pink zip ties serve as door pulls, and aluminum sound-deadening tape is slathered all over the unfinished interior. The car looks less like one of Magnus Walker’s Outlaw 911s than Dr. Frankenstein’s personal hot rod. |
Jalopnik—Somewhere inside Porsche must be a secret directive to race everything they make. Someone has to race the Porsche—or else it is no Porsche. We’ve seen everything from rally Cayennes to Panamera touring cars, and now, at last, I got to watch Porsche tractors race on Laguna Seca. Yes, tractors. I even got to drive one after the race to see how it worked! My life is now complete.
| | Racer—Porsche factory driver Patrick Long was headed for an open-wheel career until sports cars became his permanent home. Although he missed out on a life spent in IndyCar, he achieved a dream at Rennsport Reunion VI by shaking down the newly restored 1990 March Porsche at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca — the last place it ran 28 years ago. |
Motor1—Ah, parking mishaps. These are the worst things that could happen to you as a car owner. We've seen a driver unable to get out of a perpendicular parking spot, and scratching and denting an unsuspecting Camry as it happened. It could have been one of the ugliest moments as a car owner, and it just got worse when the driver irresponsibly left the scene without a trace.
| | PCA—Join us for the Porscheplatz at the 21st Annual Motul Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA. The Porscheplatz tent will be the hub of activity for PCA members and Porsche owners at the races. There will be presentations by Porsche Motorsports North America and Porsche GT team drivers. Other activities include Porsche team garage/paddock tours. Mobil 1 and Michelin
will also give presentations. Special drawings will be held both days, including ones for "Hot Pit Experiences". "Hot Pit Experience" winners are given the exclusive opportunity to have a personal tour into the hot pits during the races. You can also just relax in the tent, enjoy a cool beverage, and watch the races via live feed TV. Bring your member card or Porsche key for admittance.

| | Motor1—The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is for folks looking to get the ultimate version of the German brand's mid-engined sports car. For customers who only intend to use the machine on the track, there's the stripped-down Clubsport version, and a test mule for this circuit-spec variant is lapping Monza in this clip. |
Denver7 / TheDenverChannel.com—Riley Tinkham has done something very special with his Dad's prized Porsche.
| | Road & Track—We've heard
about it, and we saw it at the Geneva Motor Show. But to fully understand the significance of RUF's brand new scaleable chassis, I had to drive to Pfaffenhausen to take my sweet time looking at its details, and learn about the possibilities it brought to RUF's table. |
Jalopnik—One thing to know about the Porsche 917, the top-rung prototype that went from beating Ferrari at Le Mans to beating McLaren at CanAm: The pedal box sat ahead of the front wheels. That is to say, if you crashed, your feet were your crumple zone.
| | Jalopnik—The Porsche 911 Carrera T is pitched as a purist 911 for the everyman—or at least, the everyman who can afford a $100,000-plus car. It brings some of the spirit of cars like the 911 R and GT3 Touring to the bottom end of the Carrera range, with old-school styling touches, shorter gearing and a sportier chassis setup. August Achleitner, chief engineer of the 911, is a fan of
the T, so he's bringing it back for the next-gen 911, the 992. |
Jalopnik—The upcoming 2019 Porsche 911 992 generation won’t look vastly different from the outgoing 991.2. I know this because I’ve seen the mules already. So have you. They’ve been running around Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Nürburgring and now, apparently, Salt Lake City, Utah. What’s weird is that Porsche is still taping them up in the back. |
Road & Track—If you haven't already noticed, prices for the once reasonable Porsche 356 are going nowhere but up. This dealer in Santa Ana, California, has something impossibly cool: an unrestored 1952 356 Pre-A coupe. You should buy it.
| | Motorweek—We constantly rave about Porsches and particularly the 911; being the very definition of effortless performance with precision. But there is a more sinister side to Porsche and the 911, it’s the GT2 RS. Like most cable news talking heads, it’s bold, brash, borderline offensive, but also very fast; and we just can’t get enough of it! |
Road & Track—RUF, Gunther Werks, and Singer are very different companies, but all three have one thing in common: the Porsche 911. Each has based its greatest cars off of Porsche's rear-engine platform, and each has a different idea of what would make the ultimate version of Porsche's iconic creation.View Gallery |
Petrolicious—A T-shirt that says “No Fuchs Given” in capital letters down the front of it is preteen humor in car pun form. It would be funnier if it just spelled the naughty word out normally and kept a stylized rendering of the famous five-spoke wheel below it—like an Alibaba rip-off made by someone who doesn’t understand
subtlety nor their Porsche pronunciations. | | Photo by Alex Sobran / courtesy Petrolicious |
| | Road & Track—Not everyone likes the look of the 996-generation Porsche 911, but it's hard to hate that flat-six sound—especially in GT3 form. Let this 996 GT3 rally car video convince you. |
| | PCA—To celebrate 70 years of Porsche, the world’s greatest sports car, Porsche Design has created a timepiece exclusively for Porsche Club of America (PCA) members: the Chronograph 70Y Sportwagen PCA Edition. Strictly limited to only 70 timepieces worldwide, this masterpiece pays tribute to the passion, commitment and camaraderie of PCA members, as well as the legendary Chronograph I,
the first-ever timepiece developed by Porsche Design. |
Petrolicious—With Porsche celebrating its 70th anniversary this year there has been somewhat of an over-abundance of Porsche displays, so to add another to mix, it needs to be something special. | | Photo by Robb Pritchard / courtesy Petrolicious |

PCA—PCA Hill Country Region (HCR) has worked with Circuit of the Americas to provide an exclusive ticket offer for PCA members planning to attend the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix, October 19 – 21, 2018 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas. COTA has dedicated seating exclusively for PCA members in the T12 and T15 grandstands. Turn 12 prices range from $325.00 - $395.00 per ticket. Turn 15 prices range from $445.00 – $645.00

CarBuzz—In a bid to offer a more flexible ownership experience, Porsche has jumped on the subscription model bandwagon with its Porsche Passport Pilot program. Starting at $2,000 per month, subscribers will have monthly access to eight model variants including the 718 Boxster S and Cayman S as well as the Macan S and Cayenne. For $3,000 per month, subscribers will gain access to more expensive models like the 911 Carrara S, Panamera 4S, Macan GTS,
and Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Spending $24,000 to $36,000 just to essentially "rent" cars is out of most people's budgets but Automotive News reports that Porsche has already been so successful with this pilot, it's set to expand.

Sportscar 365—Porsche has unveiled retro liveries for its pair of factory GT Le Mans class entries that will compete in this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans.

| | Motor1—It’s been a very busy day for Porsche spy video. We caught the next-gen 911 turning laps at the Nürburgring, followed by a camo-wrapped 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport clipping apexes at Monza. Now, we see another 911 also straightening curves at Monza. This one, however, is a bit more mysterious than the rest. |

Photo by Rosemarie Consunji. Connecticut Valley Region. "This is a photo my wife
took during a visit to a 'cars and coffee' type event in Greenwich, CT last fall. She snapped a few photos of some of the attending Porsches. "Six months prior to the cars and coffee event she had no interest in photographing cars, but now she is a bit hooked. She went to the Porsche Delivery Center in Atlanta and had a great time ... not driving the cars but taking photos. I'm pretty sure she will
be bugging me to go to some local PCA events just so she can take photos.
