PCA—In the hyperactive/hyper-competitive Porsche world, it can seem like there’s nothing | | truly new under the sun — no car undiscovered, no collection so obscure as to be unknown, and no collecting theme unexplored. Having said that, walking into one of the largest and most secretive Porsche collections in the world is a surreal enough experience, until the realization that nearly everything in it is white. |

PCA—It seems the quest to conquer the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is still alive and well
after a street-legal McLaren P1 LM clocked 6:43.2 and a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ did a 6:44.97, both beating the GT2 RS Weissach Edition’s 6:47 record from over a year ago. Porsche and Manthey-Racing’s latest attempt at a lap record, on October 25, allowed a lightly modified GT2 RS to take the record back with a 6:40.33. | | PCA—How long have you been working at your job? 20, 30, maybe 40 years? That’s quite a long time, and you’ve earned the right
to be proud of your service. But even 40 years pales in comparison to the longest-serving Porsche dealership technician, Larry Moulton, who’s been working for Porsche Salt Lake City since 1962. That’s 56 years and running! |
| | PCA—With spy photographers — and smartphone cameras in virtually everybody’s hands — it’s tough for automakers to keep their upcoming models a secret nowadays. So Porsche, like other automakers, has chosen to get ahead of the game by releasing “spy” photos of their own showcasing the forthcoming 992-generation 911. We love a good teaser, and the latest from Porsche doesn’t
disappoint. |
PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a backdated 1982 911 SC, 2004 911 GT3, and a 2008 Cayenne
S.

PCA—Register for Tech Tactics West, either Saturday, December 1 or Sunday, December 2, 2018. Tickets for each day are $75. Tech Tactics West attendees will be treated to a day of presentations by auto industry experts, including Porsche Cars North America employees. Presentations range from the extremely technical (brake theory,
fuel-injections systems, new model overviews, etc.), to updates on the Porsche market, and theory on upcoming Porsche technologies. This year we'll be hearing from 919 Hybrid EVO Chief Engineer Stephen Mitas!

| | PCA—Each fall and spring, Porsche Club of America opens a member only raffle, in which you, the member, may purchase entries for a chance to win a brand-new Porsche. For the Fall 2018 Member Only Raffle, the grand prize is a 911 Targa 4 GTS plus $25,000 in cash. |
EverydayDriver via YouTube—After a long hiatus, the Cayenne is back
with a story. Todd waited until there was something new and different to tell. With the Cayenne recently passing 100k miles, something happened.
2019-2020 PCA National election — cast your vote by Dec. 1 |
| | PCA—Our club is fueled by volunteers, and every two years PCA National holds an election to inaugurate volunteer members of the Executive Council. The voting process is important, and we encourage eligible voters to participate in the election of candidates. Members should have received ballots (like the one below) with the October issue of Porsche Panorama. Be sure
to cast your vote by December 1. |
Roadshow by CNET—In a world of big luxury sedans, the Panamera has always been the alternative choice. Somewhat compromised on the comfort side of the equation relative to cars like the Audi A8 or Mercedes-Benz S-Class, its performance has consistently been on another planet than those land yachts. The new generation of Panamera, introduced in 2017, cleaned up the controversial look of its predecessor, while myriad handling tweaks (like rear-wheel
steering) delivered the kind of poise you wouldn't expect from a machine weighing in the neighborhood of 4,400 pounds.
| | Road & Track—Porsche is defined by the 911, but it's made plenty of other great models over the years. In fact, we'd happily own any one of these over a 911. Here are some of the best non-911 Porsches out there, according to you. |
Motor1—Apparently, 86% of people who own Porsche vehicles adore coffee as much as they like driving their German sports car. Okay, that number's made up, as there aren't really any study that shows the correlation between consuming coffee and driving a Porsche; at least there's none that we know
of.

| | InsideEVs—The Porsche 918 Spyder is a specific plug-in hybrid, because owners (only 918 were made) probably don’t care much about the all-electric range. |
Automobile—Lights. Car. Action! It’s our turn on the Bahrain International Circuit and we hustle out of the pits and onto the track’s 15-turn, Formula 1 layout—banks of floodlights basking the desert night in a pale beige glow. A canary yellow 911 Turbo sets the pace; we attempt to keep up in a 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS, specifically a Sport Turismo model in this stint.
| | Jalopnik—I know that Halloween is over, but I came across this press release from Porsche during a hunt for news this afternoon and I just needed to share because it is simply too over-the-top for me not to. In short, Porsche took a travel blogger vampire hunting. |
Motor1—Emory Motorsports specializes in tuning the classic Porsche 356, and rockstar John Oates of 1980s iconic band Hall & Oates now owns one of the company's special machines. Oates asked the firm for the perfect 356, and Emory delivered.
| | Autoblog—Hammer down on the German Autobahn, the new 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS sedan has a top speed of 181 mph. But here, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the twin-turbo V8-powered super sedan is all maxed out at 84 mph. How can this be? |
Motor1—If you ask me, parking lots are the most unfortunate places to be involved in an accident in, especially when you're not inside your vehicle or at least within the vicinity when the mishap happened. Without CCTVs, you'd be left without any clue as to who wreaked havoc onto your beloved ride. Some people are lucky to have a bystander or another motorist capture the incident for them, such as the Toyota Camry that got hit multiple times by an
inconsiderate driver on this video.
Atlanta Journal Constitution—Porsche is putting greater emphasis on its Porsche Classic business initiatives in order to capitalize on the booming auto restoration and parts market, said officials of the German sports car manufacturer. |
| | Jalopnik—What if you took the best parts of the latest Porsche 911 GTS and put them in a package you could use to haul your family around? That may be a question nobody’s asked until now, but here’s the answer to it: the 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS. |
The Chicago Tribune—Walter Payton’s cherished 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo fetched a whopping $324,500, plus buyer’s fee, in an auction this weekend at the Schaumburg Convention Center. The winning bid was made online and the car is headed to California, according to a spokesman for Mecum Auctions. The name of the buyer was not disclosed.

The Drive—Rauh Welt Begriff Porsche 911s aren't only instantly recognizable, but also regarded as future classics thanks to their devil-may-care swagger and cult-like following. After all, what can be more polarizing than an air-cooled Porsche with
extra wide fenders that hardly contain monstrously wide tires, fat side skirts that end just millimeters off the ground, and comically tall GT wings? Read More |
| | PCA—To celebrate 70 years of Porsche, the world’s greatest sports car, Porsche Design has created a timepiece exclusively for Porsche Club of America (PCA) members: the Chronograph 70Y Sportwagen PCA Edition.
