| | The Drive via YouTube—[Chris] Harris got to drive the Porsche 919 Tribute race car. Here's a partial segment. |
Road & Track—You can't really blame Porsche for celebrating its history. Especially not when an assemblage of cars like this is put together.
Any 911 with an RS badge—which stands for Renn Sport, or Racing Sport in German—is going to be something usable on the road, but designed for the track. To celebrate the launch of the new GT3 RS, Porsche decided
to bring every previous GT3 RS and a sweet 1973 Carrera RS 2.7 to a place that blends the concepts of road and track like nowhere else on earth—the Isle of Man.

| | Porsche via YouTube—Rod Emory’s comeback as a race car driver in a Porsche at the Rennsport Reunion 2018, premiere of the new Porsche 935 – an homage to the legendary “Moby Dick;” Walter Röhrl’s favorite rally Porsche, the 911 SC; and a rematch of the cult race between Rötger “Brösel” Feldmann and Holger “Holgi” Heinze. All this and more in the
current 9:11 Magazine. Watch Video |
Motor1—Without a shadow of a doubt, the next-generation 911 is in the top three debuts we’re eager to see at the end of the month in Los Angeles. Porsche has had a comprehensive teaser campaign in the build up to the highly anticipated reveal, with teaser images (see below) and first drives of near-production prototypes. The eighth generation of Stuttgart’s sports car is currently in the final stages of testing, and what better place to perfect the
Nine Eleven if not at the Nürburgring?
2019-2020 PCA National election — cast your vote by Dec. 1 |
| | PCA—Our club is fueled by volunteers, and every two years PCA National holds an election to inaugurate volunteer members of the Executive Council. The voting process is important, and we encourage eligible voters to participate in the election of candidates. Members should have received ballots (like the one below) with the October issue of Porsche Panorama. Be sure
to cast your vote by December 1. |
Forbes—Longtime Chicago resident Pamela Brundage is not your average vintage sports car owner. There are mainly two types: hoarders and drivers. |
| | The Smoking Tire via YouTube—Meet Matt's new daily driver: a 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera modified by The Keen Project into a streetable "Safari" car. Inspired by the 911 SC/RS of the mid-1980's, racer and builder Leh Keen, has turned Matt's car into the ultimate city-and-weekend 911. Featuring a 3.2L flat-six engine built by BBI Autosport and tweaked by GoldCrest Motorsports, body and
paint work by Classic Livery of Atlanta, and BF Goodrich A/T K02 Tires mounted on Braid RSR-Style wheels with a properly wild interior, this 911 brings fun, capability, character, and flair to Matt's personal garage. |
Jalopnik—We all spin fantasies about ourselves. We’re better looking than we are, smarter than we are, more morally pure than we really are. I thought I knew who I was. I would stand for the vanguard of the cheap, fun car. The secondhand Mazda Miatas of the world, the Craigslist gems. Porsche 911s? They could get stuffed, far as I was concerned. They were for
rich people, posers, and rich posers. Then I drove the 2019 Porsche 911 GTS, and it was so good that everything else has gotten infinitely worse.
| | Autocar via YouTube—For the road, the GT C is the best version of Mercedes-AMG's V8 sports car. Is the Carrera T the sweet spot of the Porsche 911 range, too?
To find out, we drive both cars back-to-back on some of our favourite roads. In the process, we realise that sometimes less really is
more.

CNBC—Luxury car company Porsche, founded in 1948, made more than 4.22 billion euros in profit before taxes in 2017, according to its annual report. Based on the Nov. 8 exchange rate, that's more than $4.82 billion.
| | Motor Trend—"How was it?" a former colleague asked me upon my return from the Kingdom of Bahrain where I drove a Panamera Sport Turismo GTS around the island and lapped the slightly lighter Panamera GTS around the Bahrain International Circuit. Turns out, my old coworker now works for Porsche in Germany, and after 22 hours' worth of flights home, I unloaded on him with something like
this. "How is it? Well, it fits perfectly between the Panamera 4S and the Turbo. Right smack in the middle. It's like they built it by numbers. And, for just $24,000 more than a 4S, you get 13 extra horsepower!" |
The Smoking Tire via YouTube—In this video,
Matt Farah and noted Porsche collector and enthusiast Spike Feresten hit the canyons in a pair of Porsche's newest enthusiast-focused models ending with the letter T: The Carrera T, and the GT3-T, both for Touring. The $175,000 (as tested) GT3-T is a very special car; absolutely belonging in the "buy and hold" department. But the Carrera T is no slouch either; its engineered lightness and choice combination of performance options mean this "entry level" model is truly oriented towards the kind
of folks who want a GT3 but can't get one.
| | Motor1—Informal drag races like these are less about the cars and more about who’s behind the wheel. You see, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and McLaren 720S are nearly equal when it comes to performance. However, a series of drag races, including a rolling start, proves a skilled driver can make a huge difference behind the wheel. These two supercars competed in three runs, and the results
are surprising. |
Kelley Blue Book—The letters “GTS” on the back of a Porsche, an acronym for Grand Turismo Sport, define a specific objective — the vehicle has been configured for driving enthusiasts who want to enjoy uncompromised sport tuning for both the street and track. With enhanced cosmetics, upgraded mechanicals, and a more inclusive list of standard features than the base models, GTS variants are engineered to deliver the best of
both worlds – they are as competent on the daily commute as they are on a challenging racing circuit.
| | Car and Driver—Porsche recently made the controversial move to switch to four cylinders for its 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman lineup. There's still a chance that upcoming track-focused versions of these mid-engined sports cars will use one of the company's vaunted flat-six engines, but for now Porsche is doing its best to convince doubters about the legitimacy and performance potential of
these flat-fours, and the new GTS variants of the Boxster and Cayman are its latest argument. |
Evo via YouTube—If McLaren is
serious about its on track credentials there's one car it needs to take the fight to: Porsche's 911 GT3. Steve Sutcliffe heads to Rockingham Motor Speedway with a pair of fast shoes and some timing gear.
| | |
| | Road & Track—There are people out there that love to drive on twisty roads. There are also people out there that love to go off-roading. But there are some that love to do both. If you needed one car to satisfy those people, it's this car: an off-road-capable Porsche 911. |

Top Gear—A big one, this. Porsche vs Ferrari vs McLaren. Last time we refereed this inter-marque fight the contenders were hybrids collectively referred to as the Holy Trinity. That was a couple of days I won’t forget. Mainly for praying the rain would stop falling. This time my prayers are focused on the barriers. Whoever thought concrete was
the right protective barrier for spindly Seventies F1 cars? Emerson Fittpaldi must have thrashed around here in the full knowledge that the only impact cushioning would come from his sideburns.Read More |
PCA—To celebrate 70 years of Porsche, the world’s greatest sports car, Porsche Design has created a timepiece exclusively for Porsche Club of America (PCA) members: the Chronograph 70Y Sportwagen PCA Edition. Strictly limited to only 70 timepieces worldwide, this masterpiece pays tribute to the passion, commitment and camaraderie of PCA members, as well as the legendary Chronograph I,

Motor1—Porsche unveiled the refreshed 2019 Macan at the end of July and assembly began in late August. While we know one is on way, the company isn't showing off the Macan Turbo yet, but these spy shots provide a great look at the higher performance, upcoming model. This one is even hauling a little trailer, proving that the company's smaller crossover can tow at least small amounts of weight.

Photo by Jim Grubman. Northeast Region. "This is a photo of my 2005 911 Carrera
S, taken June 2016 at the Jay Peak Porsche Parade on the first day. The juxtaposition of my car with that brilliant red 964 was not a shot to be missed. The picture was taken in the parking lot during registration, after a number was assigned at tech inspection for the autocross event." Got a stunning shot you want to share? Submit your pictures to potw@pca.org. Be sure to include your contact information, your region name, and a few sentences about your picture. |
