PCA—The central California coast was PCA’s playground for the spring Treffen North America from April 3-6, 2019. More than 140 cars made the journey to the red-tile-roofed town of Santa Barbara and
spent four days enjoying the sunshine, gathering with their fellow Porsche friends, and touring the American Riviera.
| | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff and guest
contributors pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1977 911 Turbo, 2003 911 Carrera 4S, 1992 968 Cabriolet, and 1979 928.

PCA—The name RUF immediately evokes the 1987 CTR prototype "Yellowbird," the company’s most well-known custom Porsche. We drove RUF’s newest creation, the 220+ mph CTR4, on the autobahn in “Rare Bird.” Northern Ohio Region member Keith Inniss was able to customize his 997.2 Targa without having to order it from the
factory. Read about it in “Special Wishes.” In the 1970s, U.S. regulations required automakers to implement crash safety standards in a very short time. Porsche rose to the task with the G-series 911 "Bumper Car," tastefully integrating the bumpers into a timeless design. Very few manual-transmission Cayennes were sold, but Chesapeake Region member Minta Miller is a proud “1.8-Percenter.” Kim John Crumb is the sort of person who pours his heart into everything he does, including his 928 GT. Read
about his triumphs, tragedies, and ultimate “Renewal.”

| | Road Scholars—As many of you know, my parents own the Ingram Collection. Perhaps it’s better known as the People’s Porsche Collection, as I’ve come to understand from the heartfelt messages we have received from across the globe. We have received an overwhelming number of messages of support after the tragic gas explosion in downtown Durham last Wednesday killed a local
businessman, sent more than a dozen people to the hospital, and caused major damage to the building that houses the Ingram Collection.

Petrolicious—Zagato is turning 100 years old this Friday, and over the course of the past century the Milanese coachbuilder has been quite prolific—Andrea Zagato, current CEO and the third generation of the family to run the eponymous company, estimates the number of unique Zagato creations at 440. That’s a staggeringly
large amount of highly bespoke works, with many of these designs being one-offs, created for customers, auto shows, racing teams, and the like.

| | Automobile—It would be easy to dismiss Porsche’s new T-badged models (T = Touring) as little more than a global marketing exercise, but the no-frills, 300-hp 1,988-cc turbo boxer-four that powers the Cayman T (and its Boxster T sibling) is actually a decent piece. Thanks to the impressive, real-life performance of its downsized engine, the Cayman T doesn’t feel like an otherwise
complete athlete with a weak heart like Porsche’s other T car, the 911 T.

Motorweek—Our first drive of the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S and 4S was on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. Staggered tires… wider tracks… and Porsche’s Active Suspension Management tackle each turn with great grip and Porsche flat finesse. With 23 extra horses… the twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six surges to
443…racing 0-to-60 in just over 3 seconds.

| | PCA—The rules and regulations set forth herein are the Parade Competition Rules, known as the PCRs. The purpose of the PCRs is to provide for the orderly conduct of all official and unofficial competitive events of the Porsche Parade and to make provisions for participant and spectator safety. Fairness to and among competitors is the goal of the PCRs.

Autoweek—The Audi e-tron SUV we recently reviewed begins an onslaught of electric vehicles from the Volkswagen Auto Group and acts as a canary in a coal mine for internal combustion engines. Volkswagen AG houses several brands sold all over the world, but we’ll focus on the three best known that are sold in the U.S.:
Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche. Those three brands will use four platforms -- that we know of thus far -- to set Volkswagen AG’s EV future in motion.

| | Road & Track—The first few Porsche-designed Beetle predecessors, called KdF-Wagens, were built in 1938, and before the War took complete priority, Ferdinand Porsche also commissioned fifty high-speed variants, powered by the "Berlin-Rome" Porsche Type 64's hotter flat-four engine.

Motor1—We all know that RS is to Porsche as LT is to McLaren, but pitting the 600LT against the 911 GT2 RS is a bit of a mismatch, isn't it?
If you agree to our statement above, then you might want to rethink your viewpoint. Motorsport Magazine's Youtube channel pits these two unlikely rivals in a straight-line race, to see which one is the faster beefed-up model.

| | carwow via YouTube—Here it is, Mat’s in-depth review of the all-new Porsche Panamera! It’s the third time Porsche has attempted a luxury saloon, and based on the exterior looks it seems to be the best one yet! But with a starting price of £68,000 and the ability to add almost £100,000(!) of options, can Porsche now compete with class-leading saloons like the Mercedes S-Class?
Stick with Mat to find out!

CarBuzz—Porsche is set to bring back one of its most well-known 911 variants, the Speedster. The German Automaker revealed a silver concept version of the car last year, which was later followed up by a more production-ready red car at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Since then we've only seen test mules of the Speedster
lapping the Nurburgring, with no confirmation of when the production car would make its debut - until now. Thanks to an anonymous tip from a Speedster customer, we now know that the car is set to make its debut next week at the 2019 New York Auto Show.

| | Porsche Newsroom—On April 9th, 1969 – precisely 50 years ago – the first British made Concorde began its maiden flight from Filton Airfield, Bristol, England. The airframe was a prototype that would go on to complete 438 flights, created to test an aircraft that would set new speed records at the time, peaking at 2,179km/h, and for which new materials and technologies had to be
invented in order to make the ambitions of an Anglo-French group of engineers a reality.

Digital Trends—Porsche is a brand without a present blemish – each one of its vehicles is a standout in its respective class. Sports car enthusiasts invariably find themselves comparing every automotive contender against the iconic and continually evolving Porsche 911, or the spectacular mid-engine 718 twins. Sedan and
wagon junkies get their fix with the stylish and dynamic Panamera. Compact crossover shoppers with a taste for driving fun can do no better than the Macan. And then there’s the Cayenne, the vehicle that saved Porsche when it was at its lowest, and has been the brand’s sales leader for years.
| | |
| | Motor1—The sighting of a completely-naked 718 Cayman GT4 isn't a new thing. Porsche has been testing its hardcore Cayman out in the fields without camo wraps (nor a Porsche crescent) and it's an indication that its imminent reveal is just around the corner.
|
Ars Technica—If everything had gone to plan, you'd have read our review of Porsche's mighty Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo last summer. Maybe one of the longest names of any car on sale today, it has the specs and a price tag to match. How does 680 horsepower (507kW), 626lb-ft (848Nm) and a starting price of
$190,200 sound?
| | |
| | Autoblog—German authorities have ordered a blinged-out golden Porsche off the road for being too shiny.
Hamburg's Morgenpost reported Friday the 31-year-old driver was stopped in the northern city last week and told his Porsche Panamera, sporting a reflective gold foil wrap, might blind other drivers and was a danger. He was told to remove the foil and re-register the car, but police say he continued to drive it.

It's one of 80 Targas built for US market to celebrate 250,000th 911 crossing the production line. In Europe the cars were called Jubilee Edition and sometimes also referenced that 1988 was the 25-year anniversary of the 911's debut as a Type 901 at the Frankfurt Auto Show."
