Up this week are a 1986 944 Turbo, 2000 911 Carrera, 2002 911 Carrera Cabriolet, and a 2012 911 Carrera.

| | PistonHeads via YouTube—The new Porsche 911 has grown in size and is heavier than ever. So does it still thrill and entertain the way a true 911 should?
In this video, PistonHeads’ Dan Prosser answers that question and wonders if for the same money, you’d be better off with an Audi R8 RWS instead.

Motorweek via YouTube—In the late 1980s Porsche was running out of options as the pricing of the 944 ballooned out of reach of many American drivers. As they had done in the past with the 912E, Porsche introduced a stop-gap price leader to attempt to keep the competition at bay and continue to garner foot traffic in
dealer showrooms, the 924S.

Motor1—The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is out and about, as well as the Speedster and the Cabriolet. It has a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine under its hood, capable of making 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque to pull its almost 3,487 pounds of body weight. It's definitely a fast car, there's no doubt
in that. Even Top Gear's Chris Harris was pretty impressed by its performance in his review.
| | |
| | Motor Trend—Porsche is kissing its 991-generation 911 goodbye with a series of 1,948 very special cars, and we can now reveal more about what's under the hood. The wraps were pulled off two new 911-GT3-based Speedster models—the first to be prepared by Porsche's GT-car department—at the 2019 New York auto show. One was a $275,750 "base" model in Guards Red;
the other was a Heritage Edition version resplendent in GT Silver and decorated with $24,510 worth of additional vintage racing graphics, badging, and a two-tone black and cognac interior.

3, 2019 at COTA, Austin, Texas.

| | Hagerty—We reported last month that Porsche was painstakingly restoring 917-001, the original prototype for the 917 that conquered Le Mans and Can-Am, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that exact vehicle's debut at the 1969 Geneva Motor Show. Now, the automaker revealed details on that meticulous restoration, along with a video commemorating 50 years of
the 917.

| | Jalopnik—A new Porsche 911 Turbo built on the new 992 generation of the iconic car is coming, and this video of it testing around the Nürburgring proves the new car will be at least 80 percent pure turbo noise.
|
Porsche Design—The 8th generation of the Porsche 911 continues its evolutionary development. It has remained true to itself. But has never stood still. With its unique combination of continuity and advancement, the Porsche 911 has become the dynamic benchmark in a changing world. The “Timeless Machine”. Is there a
better occasion to honor the next generation of the legendary Porsche 911 than with a very special design piece? With a watch created for timelessness: the 911 Chronograph Timeless Machine Limited Edition. The same innovative spirit and demands in terms of quality and design are visible in this exclusive chronograph edition limited to 911 pieces.

| | Road & Track—Porsche is most famous for its rear-engine 911, but it's built its fair share of mid-engine sports cars as well. One of those cars is the 910, a race car that competed in the Targa Florio, 12 Hours of Sebring, Le Mans, and all sorts of other top-level events in the 1960s.
|
Autoblog—German prosecutors imposed a 535 million euro ($598 million) fine on German luxury carmaker Porsche AG, a unit of Volkswagen, as punishment for lapses in supervisory duties which allowed the company to cheat diesel emissions tests.
|
Motor1—The last spy video of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 testing at the Nürburgring is getting old, so here's a fresh look at the hardcore coupe lapping the Green Hell. It sounds fantastic, too.
| | |
| | Jalopnik—I’ve lamented before about how carmakers have been treating the word “coupe” like it was some meaningless but spicy term they could just slap on anything they wanted to feel “sportier,” but now I’m ready to take action. I’m officially issuing a formal demand that automakers stop misusing the word coupe in reference to, usually, four-door SUVs and
crossovers with a slightly sportier design. Don’t worry, though—I have a much better replacement word in mind.

Auto Express via YouTube—A Frenchman far afield. A Porsche 928 is his passport. Philippe Delaporte and his sons on their extraordinary travels.
Retracing the route of the old Silk Road to Turkmenistan and back to Paris—and then all around the world: Frenchman Philippe Delaporte took two adventurous trips in his Porsche 928 S4, accompanied in turn by each of his two sons.

| | Motor1—You’d think that a car discontinued some 13 years ago would not be of interest to tuners anymore, but the Carrera GT is no ordinary car. Porsche built 1,270 examples of its naturally aspirated masterpiece, with the final example rolling off the assembly line at the factory in Leipzig, Germany back in May 2006. Years later, owners of the 918 Spyder’s
precursor are still handing over their cars to aftermarket specialists to upgrade what some refer to as being the very last analog supercar.
|
Road & Track—Porsche's sports racing cars of the 1960s pushed many boundaries. The 910/8 Bergspyder took light weighting to the extreme. Designed for the European hill-climb championship, the Bergspyder had a tubular space frame chassis overlaid with fiberglass body panels so thin, you can shine a light through
them. According to Paul Frère's excellent The Racing Porsches various Bergspyders raced with aluminum chassis tubes, beryllium brake discs, titanium steering arms, and comically small 3.2-gallon fuel tanka. The lightest 910/8 was around 925 lbs in race trim.

Motor1—The new generation Porsche 911 (internal code 992) is already on sale in coupe and convertible body styles, and several more versions are planned for the near future. Among them are the GT3 and Turbo ranges, and probably this – a mysterious hard-top variant previewed in these spy photos.

well as a stunning RSR backdate. Additionally, Porsches of all variations are being added daily targeting all types of buyers. Whether you are looking to bid, sell or just simply spectate the live auctions, visit pcarmarket.com.
| | |
Motor1—More than a week ago, spy photos of the Porsche Taycan almost without any camouflage have surfaced and we're lucky enough to get a hold of them from our friends at the TaycanForum. But the quality of those images were pretty low, which somehow distorted the details of the first-ever, all-electric
Porsche.
