| | PCA—Porsche Panorama, the multiple-award-winning official publication of the Porsche Club of America, has teamed up with bestselling author Alma Katsu and illustrator Victor Santos, creator of the ground-breaking webcomic “Polar” (now a major Netflix® release), to produce “Spy Collector.” The graphic novel is a globe-skirting, Porsche-centric
fictional spy tale involving a recently deceased vintage Porsche collector who took to the grave a Cold War-era secret that remains dangerous enough in the present to kill for.

| | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff and guest contributors pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 2009 911 Carrera S,
1994 968, 1993 911 Carrera 4, and 1988 924S.

The Drive—If, for some reason, none of the revived Porsche 935's classic racing liveries float your boat, here's a version of the ultra limited-run track car that features no scheme at all, save for beautiful bare carbon fiber. Replacing steel and aluminum body panels, this 935 is apparently even more stable than before
and weighs just 3,042 pounds.

| | CNBC—The auto industry has seen a significant shake-up in recent years, with the rapid development in areas such as the electrification of vehicles, ride-sharing and autonomous driving technology. Yet, more changes may be on the horizon.

Petrolicious—The 2019 Peking to Paris Motor Challenge is a torturous 36-day rally covering almost 10,000-miles of ice covered passes, chassis-rattling desert paths and just about everything in-between. Renee Brinkerhoff and her 1956 Porsche 356A are taking on this arduous journey not just to conquer the elements but to
share her mission of helping to end child trafficking at every stop along the way.

| | The Drive—Are you the kind of person who wants Porsche styling but disagrees with the company's rear-engine favoritism? "Say no more," as the youths would reply because one French tuning house has taken it upon itself to stick a Hemi V-8 in the front of a 997-generation Porsche 911.
|
Motor Trend—Lamborghinis and Porsches parked in the paddock at Willow Springs International Raceways' "Big" track isn't unusual, especially when MotorTrend's around. The phrase "production car lap record" follows us around, too. What's strange this particular track day is that the cars are SUVs, the 2019 Lamborghini
Urus and 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. They're here to break the production SUV lap record.

| | Hagerty—As you get settled in this morning, organizing your thoughts as you prepare to tackle the day’s tasks, let yourself be open to inspiration. Change things up a little. Leave some room for something unexpected. Take a 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo to a dirt track in Oklahoma and just drift around like a madman.

Motor1—We are probably living in the best of times when it comes to performance machines. As long as you are rich enough, you can buy anything from a humble pocket rocket to an AWD hot hatch and even a hybrid monster hypercar. It doesn’t matter if you prefer the front wheels driving the car, all-wheel drive, or the good
old RWD – manufacturers got you covered.

| | The Drive—Before officially unveiling the production model this September, Porsche is taking a Taycan prototype on a bit of an international promotional tour. Making an appearance in Shanghai—the heart of what is empirically Porsche's biggest market, China—is our least obstructed look yet at the company's upcoming electric car.
|
Roadshow by CNET—The first-generation Porsche Cayenne proved that it's possible to seamlessly inject a whole lot of sports-car elements into a utility vehicle. It wasn't the first sporty luxury SUV to hit the market, but it immediately rose to the top of its field.

Road & Track—There's a reason some tracks have been around for decades and others are popular for a minute and then fizzle out. The legendary ones are fun to drive and make racers into heroes. Here are the ones you need to find a way to drive before your time is up.

CarBuzz—Porsche has made eight iterations of the 911 over the past half-century-plus – the original, bear in mind, having accounted for the first half of that. So you'd think there would have been ample opportunity by now to bring them all together on the open road they were designed to master. But apparently this was
the first.

Hagerty—Ohio’s Taj Ma Garaj is sending a collection of air-cooled automotive oddities and collectibles to a special RM Sotheby’s auction on September 28. There are some very nice original cars in the collection, but the oddities and one-off cars really grabbed our attention. Engine swaps, custom bodywork, ridiculous
paint—it’s all here in an boxer-engine menagerie that is unlike any collection we’ve ever seen.
| | |
| | Road & Track—Porsche understands the value of nostalgia, which is why it just launched a new program it calls the Heritage Design strategy. Aimed at bringing design elements from its classics back to the showroom, this strategy is giving some of Porsche's most iconic exterior colors and interior materials a new lease on life.
|
Motor1—After finding the Porsche 911 GT2 RS can reach 219 miles per hour (352.4 kilometers per hour) on 2.7-miles of pancake flat airstrip, the folks from the Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds are back to show what the turbocharged terror can achieve in the standing mile. Despite covering less than half the distance this
time, the Porsche is still able to hit over 190 mph (305.8 kph).
| | |
Jalopnik—Pretty much anywhere both cars and humans are present you’re bound to hear at least one of them talking about how amazing an aircooled 911 is to drive. If you’ve been a car enthusiast for more than a few minutes, you’ve likely heard more than you ever car to know about an aircooled 911. Whether you like old
Porsches or not, you probably know that the steering is unparalleled, the sound of the flat six engine is evocative, and the driving experience is transcendental.
| | |
Motor1—Porsche is just getting started with its 992-gen 911 rollout as more and more derivatives are on their way. One of them will be the track-focused GT3, which was recently caught by our spies in its natural habitat at the Nürburgring. Far from being a production-ready prototype, the test vehicle was wearing some
clever camo to hide its actual bodywork, even though at a first glance the car might look virtually undisguised.
|
Autoblog—Singer is celebrating 10 years of existence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and it's bringing along some special 911s for the party. Like all Singers, these are also gorgeous works of art that happen to be quite fast.

| | Autoweek—There is no stopping Porsche right now in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Le Mans (GTLM) class.

PCA—The rules and regulations set forth herein are the Parade Competition Rules, known as the PCRs. The purpose of the PCRs is to provide for the orderly conduct of all official and unofficial competitive events of the Porsche Parade and to make provisions for participant and spectator safety. Fairness to and among
competitors is the goal of the PCRs.
| | |
| | Road & Track—If you keep up with Porsche in motorsports, you'll know that it switched to a mid-engine layout for its 911 RSR race cars in 2016, despite the road car version staying rear-engine. The company did this for better weight balance and aerodynamics. Now, those cars are getting some more upgrades for the 2020 season.
