PCA—Did you love coloring as a child? Taking a trip down memory lane, not only was it fun, but you made art. And if it was good enough, maybe your parents even displayed it. You chose the colors, decided to color within the lines — or not — and if you were particularly artistic perhaps even conjured up new effects or
elements into the picture to truly make it your own. Moreover, it was a fun, relaxing, analog activity, a respite from spending too much time staring at a screen, which is far too commonplace these days.

Roadshow by CNET—Restomod cars shouldn't feel like one of Frankenstein's monsters. The best examples of these modern classics are the ones that pull off feeling totally authentic while possessing a demeanor all their own. They need to look and feel like a million bucks -- and since many restomod classics are hideously
expensive, that's not necessarily hyperbole.

| | Automobile—Porsche has certainly produced some extra special cars of late—911 R, GT3 Touring, GT2 RS, and the latest 911 Speedster, to name just a few—so perhaps the good old 911 Turbo S has become somewhat of an afterthought or yesterday’s news when Porsche geeks get together to breathlessly go into raptures about Stuttgart’s latest top performers, and to argue
with each other about which one they’d choose. And, of course, there’s always the fun of speculating about which cars will appreciate to astronomical values.
|
Road & Track—Displacement is no longer a suitable metric for engine output. The Porsche 911 you're looking at here has the same old 3.4-liter in its ass—but don’t tell your ass, because it’ll swear there are five liters worth of grunt on tap. The trick? VSD, short for Vonnen Shadow Drive.

PCA—Its F1 time again in Austin, Texas. And yes, the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. PCA Hill Country Region (HCR) has worked with Circuit of the Americas (COTA) to provide an exclusive ticket offer for PCA members planning to attend the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix, November 1 – 3, 2019 at
COTA, Austin, Texas.

Road & Track—After spending an afternoon driving the hybrid Vonnen 911, I wanted to dive into the numbers. Instrumented testing would have been fun, but on a car like this, I really wanted to see the dyno numbers. Luckily, the Vonnen guys did, too, and so they invited me to join them for a day at the dyno
shop.

Petrolicious—The first Peking to Paris endurance rally took place in 1907 as the result of a general challenge to automobiles and their drivers. Cars were still novel, new, and at the dawn of their potential in the very early 20th century, and the article in Le Matin wondered if anyone was willing to attempt
the 9,000-plus-mile route from Peking to Paris in one; if the personal motorcar really was a revolutionary means of freedom bound only by the amount of fuel in the tank, completing this grueling journey would make for compelling evidence in support.

| | carwow via YouTube—Introducing the all-new Porsche 911! Rolling in with a six-cylinder, twin-turbo 3.0-litre that can hit 450hp, this new 911 992 is set to be THE sports car to beat in 2019! The question is, does the new 911 maintain the heritage and reputation built by its predecessors? Stick with Mat to see what you think, and then let us know in the comments
below!

Autoblog—Over the course of three generations and nearly 17 years, the Porsche Cayenne has followed a similar format: a familiar 911-like face grafted onto a conventional SUV body. However, other brands have tried to shake things up with their own luxury SUVs, offering controversial, yet ultimately successful "coupe"
variations. BMW X6, we're looking at you. And so, in a decision that should've been seen as inevitable, Porsche has finally followed suit.

| | Roadshow by CNET—If you're even casually into air-cooled Porsches, then you probably have heard the name Rod Emory. His shop Emory Motorsports in LA is the home of some of the world's most beautiful restored and hot-rodded Porsche 356s. His latest car is arguably one of his craziest yet.

Autoblog—Porsche is celebrating two 50th birthdays throughout 2019. The 917 party came first, and next up is a salute to the 914, what Porsche calls the first production mid-engined car from a German manufacturer. To honor the achievement, and the car's entangled history with Volkswagen, the Porsche Museum will open a
new exhibit called "'50 Years of the 914 – Typically Porsche."

| | Roadshow by CNET—It's so often the way; the best drive is proving to be the one after the cameras stop rolling. Producer George Peck and I are on something of a mission to get the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster back vaguely on time, and I am doing my best to shrink Sardinia. Fortunately the Italian island isn't riddled with motorways, so the most direct route
is also proving to be a spectacularly good piece of road. Well surfaced, wide enough and winding through undulating terrain -- it is just wonderful. It's one of those drives that you get drawn into, gradually getting quicker and quicker as you get more and more comfortable with how the car's moving, how the tires are behaving.
|
Motor Trend—Pure driving enjoyment is why the Porsche 911 Speedster exists. It's a soft-topped swan song for the 991-generation 911; a celebration of the sounds and sensations that make the car great. The Stuttgart brand will only build 1,948 Speedsters, and prices start at $275,750. That buys a majestic driver's car
with a list of bespoke parts, but there are also some head-scratching omissions from the spec sheet. Here are things you get, and others you don't, on the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster.
|
The Drive—Last September at the Rennsport Reunion in California, Porsche announced the return of the 935 as a track-only sports car. Inspired by the historic 911-based racer, the neo-935 will be built on the basis of the 911 GT2 RS in limited numbers, with the 77 planned cars each selling for $817,000
apiece.

| | Petrolicious—The Porsche 964 was a big step up from the long-lived classic 911 that it replaced in 1989. Gone was the decades-old silhouette, to be replaced by, well, a very similar silhouette, But this was no re-skinned old 911; the 964 was completely redesigned, with a new 3.6-liter M96 engine, coil spring rear suspension and power-steering, and ABS were introduced
for the first time. As always with a 911, the best was yet to come and in 1992 a lightweight RS variant was introduced for the European market, featuring a revised and more powerful M64/03 motor, close ratio transmission, limited-slip diff and track-prepped suspension. It also had numerous weight-saving features to bring it in almost 350 pounds lighter than a regular Carrera 2.
|
Automobile—The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe offers a handy guide to the evolution of SUVs. The provocative 2003 Cayenne saw Porsche reimagine itself, but that imagination was still bound by the era’s literal, truckish conception of an SUV. Flush with that Cayenne’s global success, Porsche realized it had no need to
apologize.

| | Digital Trends—If you can dream it, you can see it and even put it in your driveway — as long as you limit your dreams to one of three models. Porsche just lifted automobile manufacturer websites “build your own” car configuration tools to another level. The new Porsche Augmented Reality Visualizer App (PARVA) is available now for iOS and Android augmented
reality-enabled mobile devices.
