| | PCA—Two of the most exciting and unexpected cars Porsche has produced in the past few years were the Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder, both with the 3.8-liter normally aspirated flat six sourced from the 997 Carrera GTS. Porsche announced the successors of those two cars today, the 718 Boxster Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4, both of which have a 4.0-liter normally
aspirated flat six.

PCA—Executive Director Vu Nguyen owns a 2006 Porsche Cayenne S, and after being exposed to the elements for more than a
decade, his stock headlights were in a sorry state. We decided to restore them using Griot's Garage's Headlight Restoration Kit, which clears up the foggy lenses, and put in new Xenon bulbs. Watch the video to see how it's done, plus before and after comparisons.

PCA—Going out with a bang, not a whimper, is the Porsche way, as evidenced by the extraordinary GT2 RS and GT3 RS versions of the outgoing 991-series 911, which editor Sass had the enviable task of driving at Road America in “Full Speed Ahead.” As if that weren’t enough, there is a limited-edition lightweight 911
Speedster version of the 991 as well, which we drove in Sardinia. Ted West has vivid memories of a a 914/6 GT flashing by on the Nürburgring in 1970. He recently got a chance to revisit that “Giant Killer” in Pennsylvania. Some might think it mad to cram a 4.4-liter engine into a 1973 911T. Not so Jae Lee, who “Maxed Out” his street-legal track beast and loves every minute of it. Our cars are meant to be driven, at home or in exotic locales, and planned road trips are the answer. “Hit the Road”
in your Porsche at Treffen North America or on a customized tour.
Plus, tips on finding the perfect used Porsche, and a 1939 Type 964 just may make auction history.

| | PCA—The response during Rennbow’s first week has been incredible. It’s closing in on 150,000 page views, and we’ve added over 500 images to the database thanks to your efforts. Here are five of the most wanted colors—if you own an image of any of these, we’d love to add it to Rennbow:
- Coral Metallic (1989-90) It’s a pinkish raspberry color that is actually quite striking on a 964.
- Magenta (1974-77) Magenta was one of the fabled 1974 IROC colors
- Apple Green (1976-78) Apple was one of the few fluorescent colors that lived on into the 911SC era. It’s a near-mythical color that most people have never even seen.
- Olive (1966-75) Olive must set a record for longevity for a color that almost nobody ordered. It’s roughly the color of the pimento stuffed olives you see in jars at the supermarket
- Salmon Silver (1989-90) Salmon Silver is a pinkish silver

| | Porsche Newsroom—The successful duo from Denmark and France, Michael Christensen and Kévin Estre, who shared driving duties in the No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR at the season finale at Le Mans with Belgian Laurens Vanthoor, scored enough points at the 24-hour race in France to clinch the title. Porsche had already claimed the manufacturers’ title prior to
the endurance classic. The Project 1 customer squad won the GTE-Am class and at the same time claimed the drivers’ and team championship titles in the FIA WEC. Now with 108 class wins, Porsche has cemented its position as the most successful manufacturer in the history of Le Mans.

USA Today—Look at the cars around you in traffic today and one commonality stands out. Virtually all have tailpipes, meaning internal combustion engines. That is about to change dramatically.
| | |
| | Top Gear—The new 992-generation Porsche 911 is, as expected, another hit from Porsche. The Carrera S model has gotten so capable, it can even hit an indicated 200 mph, given the right circumstances.

Motor1—Vinyl wraps offer a way to give your vehicle a custom look with a complicated design that's far simpler and cheaper to apply than painting the scheme on the body. Now, an upcoming service launching in July lets Porsche buyers in Germany have the opportunity to order body wraps for their car that include some of
the brand's famous racing liveries.

| | PCARMARKET—The last few years have been quite tricky for many of those looking to sell or even buy a Porsche. As the market continues to correct itself, asking prices seem to be all over the map. As a result, more and more Porsche classified ads remain unsold, making them stagnant and sometimes hurting the cars' perceived value. PCARMARKET has had the pleasure of
working with many Porsche owners to assist them in selling their cars through its auction platform. PCARMARKET helps to cut through the noise, bringing buyers and sellers together for a swift and fair transaction. We invite you to sell your Porsche on PCARMARKET today.

Motorweek via YouTube—We thought Porsche was just being nostalgic when they showed two different 911 Speedster concepts at recent auto shows. Turns out their plans were much bigger, as 1,948 people will actually be able to buy one.

duPont Registry—Guy Berryman, the bassist for Coldplay, started loving the Porsche 911 back when he saw Steve McQueen driving one in “Le Mans” (1971). We learn this tidbit of info in a new video from Porsche, where Berryman talks about his classic 1967 Porsche 911 S.

Petrolicious—This year marks the 50th anniversary of an icon, a winner, a terrifying race car that will forever belong to the greatest hours of racing history: the Porsche 917.
Sebastien Crubilé, the head of Crubilé Sport located near Rambouillet, an hour’s drive from Paris, knows these cars well.

| | Motor1—There are few race tracks in the world as iconic as the Nürburgring. For over 90 years, the track has played host to countless racers – both professional an amateur – and leisurely drivers, too. The track has changed a lot since it first opened in 1927. It’s gotten safer as the cars have gotten faster – better engineered, and more capable than ever before.
The famous Nordschleife circuit at the track has 154 turns, and the asphalt is far from wide. To honor the track, Gran Turismo, the racing video game franchise from Polyphony Digital for the Sony PlayStation, released a mini-documentary about “The Ring.”

Hagerty—Auctions are necessary asset-conversion devices, I know that. Like gilded wood chippers, they swallow up possessions and spit out cash at whatever rate the market will bear (minus the auction company’s fees, of course). But I have never understood why the crowd cheers at a classic-car auction when a car gavels
at a particularly high figure.
|
The Drive—In Porsche-landia, finding a matching-numbers Type 356 is far rarer than seeing an actual example of the model being driven on the road. In this case, the term means that it comes with nearly every single part that it was built with from the factory, most notably the engine and the transmission. BarnFinds.com,
however, has stumbled upon what appears to be a true unicorn, a matching-numbers 1962 Porsche 356 Coupe, listed for sale on eBay.

| | Oversteer by Autotrader—When I purchased my 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo a little over six months ago, the response wasn't like most of my new car reveals. Usually, a chorus of people begin singing a familiar tune, telling me how stupid I am for buying the next automotive equivalent of the Chernobyl disaster. In the case of this Porsche, I must have done the
opposite, since it seemed like everybody wanted to buy it from me. Another pleasant surprise was the reliability I've been rewarded with over the past six months. Of course, it only took one trip to the track to bring things back to normal.
|
Motor1—Everyone knows the connection between Porsche and Volkswagen, though we suspect few people might know about this particular creation. It sort of looks like a vintage VW bus, but there are Porsche badges front and rear, not to mention a peculiar likeness to the classic 356 with its big round headlights and bullet
taillights. Technically speaking, it’s not a Porsche product at all, but rather a Tempo Mikafa Sport – a curious camper built by German coachbuilder Mikafa on a Tempo chassis. No, not the terrible 1980’s Ford Tempo; this was another German company that built a range of vehicles from the 1920s through the late 1970s.

| | Road & Track—The 996-generation Porsche 911 RSR was one of the first true top-spec 911 race cars with a water-cooled engine. It makes one hell of a noise.

Fairness to and among
competitors is the goal of the PCRs.

| | Roadshow by CNET—A lot of people like to hate on the Porsche Cayenne. It dilutes the brand's image! Stick to sports cars! Get off my lawn! Never mind the fact that the Cayenne (as well as its smaller SUV sibling, the Macan) accounts for the vast majority of Porsche sales. To all those haters out there, I have to ask: Have you actually driven
one?

Newsday—A Porsche dealership has cruised into a new, $40 million home nearly nine times as big as the old one.
Porsche Gold Coast, formerly known as Porsche of Roslyn, recently held a grand opening event for its new, 125,000-square-foot facility in Jericho, at 125 S. Service Road.
|
Motor1—Remember the Mission E concept? It debuted nearly four years ago at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, and now Porsche is about to take the wraps off the production model. Confirmed for a September reveal, the company’s very first EV has been caught for the umpteenth time at the Nürburgring flaunting those hilarious
“exhausts” to prove the Germans do have a sense of humor.
