| | PCA—At recent press event sponsored by the Washington Automotive Press Association, Porsche Panorama was able to spend some seat time in what are arguably the closest competitors to the Cayenne and Macan, namely the Maserati Levante and Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Here are some quick impressions on how they compare.

| | PCA—Emory Motorsports' Porsche 356 RSR is well known, making appearances at various car shows throughout the US. Rod Emory, the builder of this Outlaw Porsche, has given plenty of details, such as a twin-turbocharged air-cooled flat four derived from a 911 air-cooled flat six, beefy Momo wheels reminiscent of those found on 1970s and 1980s 935, 956, and
962 race cars, and more. But Petrolicious now has the inside scoop from the man himself on how the car was conceived and the story behind the build.

Automobile—So, I didn't get to join the cool kids at Luftgekühlt 6, the latest edition of the best, most exclusive, and most buzzworthy Porsche event of the year. The sold-out show was held this time on the iconic Universal Studios backlot, which I was bummed to miss, but even worse, several of my colleagues were
there, sharing more photos of classic 911s, 356s, and Porsche racers than I cared to double-tap. Needless to say, I was seriously jealous.

| | Inside EVs—There have been many people questioning how the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan will stack up when it comes to real-world testing. We were already aware that the all-electric Porsche wouldn't prove quite as quick off-the-line as the Tesla, however, it reportedly has better endurance and it may be more agile, at least for now. It also seems to
have more power at higher speeds.

| | TheSmokingTire via YouTube—The 2020 Carrera 4S is the AWD variant of the all-new 992-generation of Porsche 911. With a twin-turbo 3.0L flat-six engine making 443 hp, it's got the power to hit sixty in under three seconds and crack 190 at the top end. There's a new 8-speed PDK gearbox, a new interior, and a new sound.

Roadshow via CNET—The Tesla Model S isn't the only big-body electric car in town anymore. Following the introduction of the 2020 Taycan in its hi-po Turbo and Turbo S trims, Porsche has now unveiled the less expensive 4S, which is available with an optional Performance Battery Pack option that turns up the performance
wick a smidge, in addition to piling on the range.

| | Car and Driver—In the latest chapter of the Porsche 911 at VIR, we have the Carrera T, a 911 equipped with the outgoing base car's 370-hp engine, a few weight-saving measures like thinner rear-window glass, and some sticky dealer-installed Pirelli P Zero Corsa PZC4 tires. Dropping a few pounds and adding grip will always improve performance, but since we've
never lapped a base 911 at Lightning Lap, we don't know how much quicker the T's tweaks make it. We can say that it's 5.5 seconds quicker than the 2013 Carrera S, which made 400 naturally aspirated horsepower but wore less aggressive P Zeros.

Jalopnik—A thirty-seven year-old respiratory therapist and Porsche fan Mike Savina didn’t know what to expect when he arrived at a fallen barn not far from his home in West Virginia. He’d been told that there was, somewhere under the rubble, a classic Porsche 911, a vehicle he’d always dreamed of owning. That’s why
Savina emptied his bank account down to the last $3.86 and, despite much of the car being obscured by debris, bought it without knowing if it could even be saved.

Autocar—The new model will feature an entirely different bodystyle from the existing Macan to reflect its status as a reinvented model for the brand.
Speaking to Autocar at the recent Frankfurt motor show, Porsche’s director of SUVs, Julian Baumann, confirmed that the existing, internal combustion-engined Macan will remain on sale alongside the new Macan during a transitional phase. The offering will broadly mirror that offered by the Taycan/Panamera duo.
|
| | Car and Driver—There's comfort in the familiar, and we're very familiar with Porsche's 991.2-generation 911, now at the end of its life cycle. The GT3 RS shares its chassis with the former Lightning Lap king, the GT2 RS, and while it may not have that car's 700 horsepower, it does have the strongest free-breathing 520 horses this side of a Cosworth
DFV.

Autoblog—If you’re reading this on a mobile phone or laptop computer, you might thank this year’s three laureates for the Nobel Prize in chemistry for their work on lithium-ion batteries.
Yet the batteries developed by the British, American and Japanese winners that make those devices possible are far more revolutionary than just for on-the-go computing and calling. The breakthroughs the three achieved also made storing energy from renewable sources more feasible, opening up a whole new front in the fight against global warming.

Porsche Newsroom—This race marked the 50th and final factory outing for the successful GT vehicle from Stuttgart, which won six of the eleven rounds on the 2019 IMSA calendar. The Porsche works drivers Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) have been crowned the drivers’ champions, with the team title
going to the squad campaigning the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR. In the GTD class, the Pfaff Motorsports customer team achieved a podium result with the No. 9 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
