PCA—Porsche announced three new models yesterday, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe, and E-Hybrid Coupe,
| | and E-Hybrid Coupe, which will soon join the Cayenne E-Hybrid that’s been on the streets since early 2019. The new Turbo S E-Hybrid models produce 670 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque, making them the top-of-line Porsche SUVs, while the E-Hybrid Coupe uses the same 455 hp setup as the standard-body model.

PCA—Modern, low-production, high-performance Porsches have developed an impressively strong position in the collector-car market. Porsche’s ability to deliver cars with a compelling combination of looks
and Nürburgring Nordschleife-proven performance has resonated sufficiently with buyers to push prices well above the MSRP and maintain them there even after the introduction of newer and more capable versions. Recently, however, some softening in the market has been evident as fear of an economic downturn looms. So, the question going into the Monterey auctions is whether modern Porsche prices will hold or tumble. Here are a few of the Porsches from the 1980s to the present that we’ll be
watching.

| | Kelly Telfer via YouTube—It’s every automotive enthusiast’s dream to buy a rare car from a prominent collection. These seemingly unattainable beauties that live behind stanchions and locked doors, usually only see the light of day during a rare concours or museum appearance. That is unless you can get a private tour, and prominent automotive artist, Kelly
Telfer, did just that. See the story of how a lifelong passion and a casual comment turned into the acquisition of a low mileage, original 1968 Porsche 911 from the exclusive Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, Florida. Sometimes all you have to do is ask…

Motor Trend—It's difficult to overestimate the significance of the Porsche Taycan. It's the first electric car from one of the world's most accomplished and acclaimed performance vehicle manufacturers, the product of more than five years' work and an investment of more than $1 billion. It's also the first electric car
that will sorely test the loyalties of the Teslarati.
| | |
| | Autoblog—We've watched the Porsche Taycan get incrementally closer to reality for years. Now, Jonny Smith of the "Fully Charged Show" on YouTube has become the first automotive journalist — and "the first non-Porsche employee, if you take Mark Webber out of the equation" — allowed behind the wheel of Porsche's battery electric performance
car.
|
Auto Express via YouTube—According to Porsche the new £75,348, 414bhp Cayman GT4 is “a brutal driving machine that is perfectly irrational.” It’s also a car that is “razor sharp in its responses that’s been designed for people who take their fun seriously and who would rather sit in a sport seat than a leather
armchair.”

| | SunTek—The SunTek team had a great time meeting the curious, knowledgeable Porsche Club members at Boca Raton two weeks ago. Many of you enjoyed the Brewster Green GT3 Touring at our booth, immaculately wrapped in SunTek PPF Ultra by our expert installer Auto Super Shield, Boca Raton. We loved the discussions it sparked and telling you a bit more about
how SunTek, with its self-healing and hydro-resist top coat, protects your Porsche and keeps it clean.
We think you will also enjoy watching this Porsche GT2 RS owned by professional golfer, Ian Poulter #GetRoadReady with SunTek. Ian chose SunTek PPF Ultra to protect his full vehicle and used SunTek PPF Ultra Defense, our thicker 11mm film, on the higher impact areas.
|
| | Carfection via YouTube—Henry Catchpole reviews the new Porsche 718 Spyder on the road in Scotland. It's the first Spyder to be a GT4 car. It has the same engine and performance, a manual gearbox and the ability for you to feel the wind in your hair. Is it any good? What do you think?
|
Overcrest—Kris interviews Bob Garretson, racing driver and one time owner of Garretson Enterprises, the muscle behind some legendary Porsche 935's, on his history with cars, how the Apple Car came about, crashing at Le Mans, The Old Warhorse itself, and more.

| | Autoblog—For the first time, the ultimate version of the Porsche Cayenne is a hybrid, as the brand moves to make electrification more central to its powertrain strategy. The Turbo S E-Hybrid is the new range topper of the Cayenne lineup, in place of the non-electrified Turbo S that was the ultimate iteration of the previous-gen Cayenne. With the new
Cayenne, the Turbo S comes only in E-Hybrid form and a regular Cayenne Turbo sits one rung down, a hierarchy that mirrors the offerings in the Panamera family. Like all other Cayenne models, the Turbo S E-Hybrid is offered both in a traditional SUV body — now shapelier as a result of the third-gen redesign — as well as a fastback Coupe. We drove the former at a launch event in southwestern Oregon.

| | Automobile—That’s got to be the real thing, no way that’s a toy, I thought to myself when viewing pictures of this handcrafted 1:8 scale 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster model. Well, I was wrong, it’s not a toy for starters, it’s a model crafted by Bristol, England-based company Amalgam Collection. They specialize in making some of the most detailed,
high-quality model cars you will ever see ranging from 1:4 to 1:18 scale.

Motorweek via YouTube—
RLast year we took a European cruise in the redesigned Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. Now we take another test drive, but this time it's stateside in a U.S. model.

| | Barron's—A 1959 Porsche 718 RSK “Center Seat” Spyder, one of the rarest and most sought-after Porsches, will headline Bonhams’ auction in Carmel, Calif., this week.

Motor1—The 2020 Porsche Taycan is here – well, almost. But now we have a date. Mark your calendars as Porsche has announced that its first all-electric model will make its global debut on September 4, 2019 and it will be live-streamed on the company's dedicated online TV microsite.
| | |
| | Motorious—Long before the Cayenne was even a dream, Porsche was a force to be reckoned with off the pavement. The German automaker saw wonderful success in grueling races like the Paris-Dakar Rally. This 1981 Porsche 911 SC has been converted into a Safari car, making it perfect for hitting fire roads or plowing through the snow.
|
Car and Driver—The Porsche 911 GT3 turns 20 this year. We've grown to love the lighter, faster, beefed-up and hunkered-down version of the 911 over the years. Oh, who are we kidding? We loved it the moment we first drove it.
| | |
| | Road & Track—Hillclimb cars are some of the most exciting race cars out there, and this Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is no exception. It broke a record at Pikes Peak this year, setting a time of 9:23 in the Time Attack 1 class. It sounds absolutely fantastic.
|
Car and Driver—At the beginning of April, August Achleitner retired after 36 years at Porsche. He worked first at the chassis department, in the 1980s, then on packaging for the first-generation Boxster and 996-generation 911 in the 1990s. He helped bring the Carrera GT to life. But his most important role at Porsche
was as chief engineer for the 911, the car that defines the company.

Motor Trend—Ever wonder how some of the world's best automotive technicians got to the top? It's a good question, especially today when the automotive industry advances quicker than ever in terms of new technology. Indeed, there's a large
demand for skilled technicians; the U.S. Department of Labor predicts that around 46,000 new jobs in the field will need to be filled by 2026.
| | |
| | Motor1—Porsche is known for offering a wide range of options on its vehicles, especially the 911. That’s no joke either – if you jump into Porsche’s configurator for the 911 Carrera you’ll immediately find 18 color choices for just the exterior, and if you’re still not satisfied with any of those shades, you can spend an extra $11,430 for a custom color of
your choosing. Similarly, there are 26 different options for interior materials and colors, and that’s without any individual customization.
