| | PCA—Every year the Motor Press Guild recognizes some of the best work in automotive journalism, and contributors to Porsche Panorama are no strangers to receiving top awards. issue.

PCA—Founded in 1939 by Alois Ruf Senior, Ruf Automobile GmbH as we know it originated as a humbler general automotive and mechanical repair workshop. Mechanically gifted as well as entrepreneurial, Ruf Senior conjured vehicle
designs of his own by the late 1940s, subsequently building and marketing a tour bus in 1955. In 1963 the company became a representative of Bavarian brand BMW. Dovetailing with this event, Alois Junior, born in 1950, discovered he had a passion for sports cars — specifically ones from nearby Stuttgart — later recounting that eye-witnessing a Porsche 901 prototype was one of the pivotal moments that set him on his intended life journey.
| | PCA—Due to high interest in the 2020 PCA Sim Racing program, Series 4 starting March 6 at Mid-Ohio will feature two separate broadcasted races on March

Motor Trend—It's not every day you see a Porsche 911 Turbo S pop a giant wheelie. Then again, it's not every day you come across a Porsche 911 Turbo S like Mark Blackwell's.
Despite its mostly stock looks, this 991-series Porsche packs more than 1,000-hp from its twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. Of course, Blackwell's Turbo S wasn't always the manic machine it is today. "I just wanted to get a 911 Turbo," Blackwell told MotorTrend, "and then I started tracking at Laguna Seca and it went on from there."

Trend—Porsche encounters bad press about as often as the Dalai Lama. About the roughest that things ever get is looking too lucky after winning Le Mans (for the numbing 19th time) in 2017 after the underdog Toyota conked out at the last moment.

Carfection via YouTube—Henry Catchpole reviews a Porsche 911 that’s been meticulously restored by Singer Vehicle Design in the hills of Los Angeles.

| | Autoblog—When most people think of movie cars they think of American muscle, maybe the Bandit's black Trans Am, the blown Charger from "The Fast and the Furious," or Steve McQueen's "Bullitt" Mustang, which recently sold for $3.74M at auction. Others think Porsches.

Formula E—Formula E—Porsche has two 99X race cars entered in this weekend’s Marrakesh Formula E-Prix. Formula E is the only event in the world that lets fans play an active role in influencing the outcome of the race. FANBOOST gives fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite driver and award them an extra boost of power during the race. The five drivers with the most FANBOOST votes are awarded a significant burst of power, which they can deploy in a 5-second window during the
second half of the race. Let’s show our PCA spirit by voting for either Porsche factory driver, ANDRÉ LOTTERER or NEEL JANI. You can vote once a day right up until fifteen minutes into the race itself.

Motor Trend—Even the internet doesn't know how it started, but it's been associated with California culture as long as anyone around here can remember. The California Double: surfing and snowboarding (or skiing) in the same day. With ski resorts only a few hours from the beach, it's easier than it sounds.

Hagerty—The Porsche 911 has become synonymous with the idea of tradition over the past fifty or so years, but when it comes to resale value the beetle-backed 2+2 prefers to walk its own path. Many sports and specialty cars are worth more as convertibles; for most Porsches, the opposite is true. This odd inversion applies everywhere from mid-eighties 911SCs to the final 996 Turbos, but it is
even more true for the years when the only available “convertible” Porsche was actually the rollbar-equipped Targa.

EVs—Marques Brownlee manages to do incredible interviews with really relevant people. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Elon Musk… The video above is his second interview with Bill Gates. Although Brownlee probably did not want to talk specifically about electric vehicles, the conversation drifted there when they were discussing global warming. That was when Gates said he just bought his first EV: a Porsche Taycan. Ironically, when he was praising Tesla for the prominent role it had in promoting
these cars.

Top Gear—This, dear readers, is what commitment looks like. In 1976 Canadian businessman Bill MacEachern took delivery of a brand-new Porsche 911 Turbo. Rather than lock it away in the hope it might gain value, or use it only sparingly at weekends, MacEachern decided to drive it. Lots. 44 years of almost daily use has seen it rack up an astonishing 779,000 miles. And it’s still going
strong.

| | Jalopnik—What does "Jurassic Park" have in common with the latest innovation at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur? This line: "Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." The technology itself promises a new realm of detailed customization: Designers in Porsche's commissioning department created a direct printing method on painted parts with precision control down to the
droplet. It's like photographic quality inkjet printing, except on sheetmetal instead of photo paper. The first application of the technology is a head scratcher: Printing a stylized image of a fingerprint on the hood of a 911.
|
Motor1—Now that Porsche Taycan deliveries are really getting underway, it's getting easier for publications to get ahold of the brand's new electric sedan for testing. In this video, Autovisie takes a Taycan Turbo S on an extended top-speed run on the Autobahn and does some acceleration testing.

Hagerty—Jerry Seinfeld and Porsche go together like golf and marine biology. The host of the popular show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has an incredible collection of Porsches, some with more… interesting histories than others. One such car in his stable is the Porsche 917K that was prominently featured in Steve McQueen’s 1971 racing flick Le Mans.

| | Road
& Track—It's hard to believe the Porsche 918 Spyder is seven years old. Futuristic looks and explosive performance figures that can humble even the latest and greatest exotics make it feel just as modern as it did in 2013. And when it comes to straight-line speed, it continues to impress.
|
MotorTrend Channel via YouTube—The Porsche Taycan has a lot of expectations to live up to. First, Porsche. Second, it’s the only true competitor for the Tesla Model S. Will the first-ever all-electric Porsche live up to the automaker’s performance reputation? The MotorTrend testing team is ready to find out.

| | Motor1—Welcome to an electric car drag race that doesn’t involve a Tesla or Porsche Taycan. Instead, we have two hybrid vehicles with the ability to drive for a very short time in fully electric mode. Have you ever wondered if a BMW 330e hybrid is quicker than a Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid in fully electric mode? Well, we have the drag race video for you.
|
Motor Trend—Were Team Lotus genius Colin Chapman alive today, the thought of the 5,100-pound, four-door 2020 Porsche Taycan lapping a racetrack might spark his own spontaneous combustion. How would the Formula 1 master of "add lightness" reconcile racetrack handling with an EV's elephantine weight?
The better word is "mitigate." Porsche has done just that, last fall cajoling the Taycan to somehow dance around the Nürburgring in a swift 7 minutes and 42 seconds.

| | Motor1—In an era where sports cars are increasingly under threat from stricter emissions and fuel economy regulations, launching a sports car with a large, naturally-aspirated engine and a manual transmission is an occasion worth celebrating. And if instead of two sports cars instead of one, as is the case with the 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS 4.0, is worth double the celebration.

Inside EVs—This week Porsche opened a new fast-charging park in Leipzig, Germany, called "Europe's most powerful" one.
According to the German manufacturer, the total capacity of the facility is 7 MW. "This means that Porsche Leipzig currently has Europe's most powerful rapid-charging park, which is operated entirely with electricity from renewable energy sources."
