| | PCA—The Porsche 959 was the greatest supercar the world had seen when it was first put on sale in the mid-1980s. Yet here in America, it wasn't possible to buy one — at first. Enter Bruce Canepa. This is the story of how he federalized the 959 and now has it making 800 horsepower.

PCA—Kris Clewell owns a 1972 Porsche 911 that he drives everywhere at almost any time of the year. It’s seen what his home state of Minnesota has to offer plus several trips out to the West Coast over the years. That includes
rain, salty air, snow, and snow treatment on the roads — a fast track to a rusty front pan. As he’s done most of the work on his 911, he decided to get rid of the rust and replace the front pan himself, learning along the way and documenting the job. Follow along, starting with this first installment!

| | PCA—“Oh come on, nobody’s favorite color is brown.” It’s a quote from American playwright Lee Blessing. That particular quote’s only real claim to fame is the fact that it generally tops the Google search results on the exceedingly rare occasion when someone actually looks for quotes about the color brown. You can trash talk all you want about beiges, but beiges (at least of the metallic variety) remain perennially popular choices,
whereas brown cars, after a brief period of popularity in the mid-1970s, became the butt of tired UPS quips and, even worse, scatological jokes.

Gear—We were about four hours into France when the texts started pinging. “Geneva motor show cancelled”. Rowan and I were unfazed by this development. It was Friday, we weren’t due in Switzerland until Monday and besides, we had plans for the weekend. Plans that involved two super-estates, a ski resort and a pair of roof boxes. You join us in a pizzeria a couple of nights later.

Autocar—We arrive in Inverness with the far north of Scotland under a severe weather warning and conditions bad enough to have earned a name. This is going to be the Porsche Boxster T versus Storm Brendan.

| | Autocar—What is it?
Time was when the wildest Porsche generally took the form of a turbocharged 911 with four-wheel drive and a wing, at least as far as spec-sheet figures went.
Following the launch of the latest 911 Turbo S – a car with 641bhp, a 2.6sec 0-62mph time, hips wider than a bin lorry, and a wing – you could argue that nothing has changed. However, if you accept modern Porsche is really now an SUV company that builds proper sports cars mainly to protect its pedigree (last year, it sold almost 200,000 Cayenne and Macan models compared with only 80,000 of everything else) then the
'wildest', most ambitious model it makes is now the £123,000 Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
|
Motor Trend—After plugging into the electric-car market the blisteringly quick Taycan, Porsche isn't anywhere close to being done with its EV offensive in the coming years. We already knew that the Macan crossover was destined to go pure-electric, and thanks to a new report, we now have a clearer idea of when we'll see the Macan EV hit the road.

Autoblog—2020 is off to a rough start for the entire automotive industry, but Porsche ended 2019 on an extremely positive note. It notably increased its global sales by 10% to 280,800 units. The company told Autoblog it plans to continue growing in the coming years, and it doesn't expect it will need to cap sales to maintain exclusivity.
|
| | Motor1—In a casual conversation about off-roaders, you’ll rarely hear someone talk about a Porsche – not even a Cayenne, the marque's biggest and most capable luxury SUV. Being a luxury vehicle, owners most likely won't subject their Cayenne into an extensive journey, more so, a cross-country safari from Austria to South Africa.

Roadshow by CNET—It doesn't take long to fall in love with the Porsche 911 Speedster. Wind the free-breathing flat-six engine up to its 9,000-rpm redline in third gear and you'll immediately want to slow down so you can do it all over again.

| | Road
& Track—The Porsche 911 isn't the most logical rally car out there, but it's proven itself time and time again at events all across the globe. This 997-generation GT3 has been transformed into an R-GT-class competitor, and it makes a brutal flat-six sound.

Motor1—The Porsche 911 is a very adaptable platform that can be anything from a hardcore track car to a sporty, yet comfortable grand tourer. This new project from German's DP Motorsport exemplifies that adaptability by taking a 1985 Carrera 3.2 Coupe and turning it into a tribute to the RS and RSR performance models from the early 1970s.

Trend—The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S is an undeniably attractive (and hugely powerful) car, but say you want to make it stand out a little more? Then Porsche's recently unveiled Sport Design package might interest you. While the sports car manufacturer initially showed photos of the package on a Lava Orange 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, it did not share the kit's specifics or price. We now have details on those specifics, though, unfortunately, no word yet on its cost.
|
Motor1—The most powerful Porsche 911 is already out and about. In fact, real-life images of the 992-generation 911 Turbo S have surfaced the web, showing us what 640 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton-meters) of torque look like in the metal.
But the Stuttgart-based automaker isn't stopping there. According to a report by Autocar, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume confirmed that a hybrid version of the 992-generation 911 is coming – and it's going to be "very powerful."
|
Autocar—Porsche has announced record sales for 2019 at its annual financial presentation, just two days after closing its production facilities for two weeks as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Autocar, Porsche boss Oliver Blume also confirmed that the company would launch a ‘very powerful’ hybrid version of the latest, 992-generation 911, and would make a decision this year on a hybrid version of the 718 mid-engined sports car.
