| | PCA—In this video, we show you how to replace the mufflers on a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera with OEM Sport Exhaust mufflers as well as the ignition coil packs and spark plugs — because why not do them while you're in there. In addition to making this 911 have a more sporting sound, it now also runs a bit better.

PCA—Porsche in collaboration with RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning the very last 991-generation 911 to roll down the assembly line, a 911 Speedster, and the proceeds will be donated to United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community
Response and Recovery Fund.
| | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff and guest contributors pick what they think
are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 2018 911 Carrera T, 2011 Boxster, 2001 Carrera Cabriolet, and 1995 968 Cabriolet.

PCA—Each Thursday PCA will release an article from a vintage issue of Porsche Panorama, mainly consisting of road tests but also other interesting articles we find in our archive. This week's edition of From the Archive features an article by none other than Hans Mezger, one of the main engineers behind some of Porsche's famous race and production car engines from the 1950s until he retired in
1994. Read "Turbocharging Engines for Racing and Production Cars" for an inside look at how Porsche approached turbocharging when it was still a relatively new technology.

| | PCA—In our most recent Performance Car of the Year test, the staff of this publication crowned the Hyundai Veloster N the winner. My personal ranking, however, put Korea’s best three (and a half) door hatchback in second place, behind the Porsche 992 Carrera S, a vehicle whose only real flaw is that it costs more money than I have: around $130,000 for that test, loaded up with stuff.

Motor1—Generally speaking, there are two main ways to improve the dynamic capability of a car. You can either reduce the weight or boost the power output. Of course, it’s always best to combine these two measures but that’s not always possible. In cases where upgrades to the powertrain are too expensive or too time-consuming, the easiest thing to do is to strip out the interior of a
car.

| | Hagerty—As much of the world presses on with shelter-in-place policies designed to stall the spread of the coronavirus, brands the world over are doing their part to help encourage such practices. Automakers, too, have decided to put down the market-share boxing gloves (at least outwardly) and reach across the aisles to urge their audiences to practice smart social distancing. Porsche has begun a particularly neat campaign to do
so.

Motor1—While many weekend warriors will spend countless hours detailing and taking care of their vehicles, Topaz detailing takes it to the next level in its latest YouTube video. It features a very special Porsche that receives an equally special pampering.

Gear—Nine-time F1 race-winner and 2015 WEC Champion Mark Webber might not have raced since 2016, but he’s clearly still got it. As this on-board video of him driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 around Estoril so ably demonstrates.

Motor1—The Nissan GT-R is an old man by sports car standards by dating back to a premiere at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, but incremental updates over the years have kept the vehicle very competitive in the segment. Do you want proof? Check out this four-way drag race between a 992-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, Audi R8 Performance, BMW M850i, and a GT-R Nismo.

Car and Driver—The GT4 reintroduced Porsche's flat-six to the Cayman line after the latest redesign replaced it with a turbocharged flat-four. That 4.0-liter makes 414 horsepower. The RS's six will also displace 4.0 liters, but in the vein of the 690-hp 911 GT2 RS, figure on output approaching 500.

Gear—Taken objectively, the last Porsche 911 Turbo was all the sports car you’d ever need. Its jet speed and sure-footed handling combined with all the boring-but-true facts about being reliable and easy to live to make it nigh on perfect. But, thanks to our monkey brains’ insatiable desire for more power, control, grip and car park status, it wasn’t all that you’d want forever.

Inside EVs—This high-speed long-distance Autobahn trip proves plenty about the Porsche Taycan. In order to pull something like this off, the car needs to have a respectable range, it must charge rapidly, and it has to have the stamina to endure continuous high speeds. Moreover, it has to be able to pull off decent range numbers even though it's being driven quite fast.

| | Car
and Driver—Most of the C/D crew has been holed up at home for about a month. Because of that, this long-term Cayenne, as well as the rest of our fleet, has not been gathering miles at the usual pace. During this (so far) roughly monthlong containment, our Cayenne accumulated fewer than 1000 miles. (Someone at Porsche reading this just did the mental math, and no, it will not take 30 months more to complete this test.) But we have driven it just enough to break the 10,000-mile seal,
triggering an update.

Motor1—With its low, raked windscreen, bucket seats, and minimal folding top, the original Porsche 356 Speedster became an instant hit when it was launched in 1954, especially in some parts of the United States. Just a few thousand of these were built on a unibody construction, which made restoration difficult.
Basically, this means there are probably just a few hundreds of the original cars still in existence and each one of them costs a little fortune.

| | Motor1—The latest Bad Boys For Life trailer features all of the typical ingredients for Hollywood success. Yes, the movie hit theaters early this year, but this new clip from Porsche highlights a big chase scene as part of the promotion for the film’s arrival on digital formats for home viewing. It’s got all the makings of a high-budget chase, including flowing shots of the coastline, a hip soundtrack, and high-speed precision driving. Let’s
take a closer look.

Motor1—Many auto manufacturers are shutting down their facilities temporarily in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Porsche announced the closure of its German Zuffenhausen plant and its Leipzig production facility beginning on March 18th, and just two days ago, said that those same facilities would remain closed until at least April 14th. Today though, the company is extending a kind
gesture to many of its out-of-work employees.

Photo by Julian Devlin. North Country Region. "I have always had a compulsion for choosing my route based on topographical maps. I’ve done this wherever I’ve been over the years, whether it’s Napa, Italy, or Vermont. Sometimes this gets me to a destination
(only slower) - other times the roads become the destination. So naturally when I was staying in Lake Placid, I had to venture up Whiteface on the Veteran’s Memorial Highway."
Got a stunning shot you want to share? Submit your pictures to potw@pca.org. Be sure to include your contact information, your region name, and a few sentences about your picture.
