PCA—My two-car garage has two SUVs. Call me typically American, as we Americans simply love our SUVs. Porsche has now long understood this, capitalizing on it with its introduction of the Cayenne in 2003, followed by the
smaller, more agile Macan in 2014. While the Cayenne is more likely an American’s idea of an SUV, the Macan is much closer to an actual Sport Utility Vehicle.

veterans and people with disabilities.
The idea to adopt Patriot PAWS(link is external) as a non-profit organization for Maverick Region fundraising was presented by Don Sebert, who was introduced to the organization through his membership in another organization. Don introduced the idea to the Maverick Region Board of Directors, who embraced it wholeheartedly.

Car and Driver—The electric 2020 Porsche Taycan does everything fast. In Turbo S trim, it rips to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds on its way to a claimed top speed of 162 mph. A prototype Taycan lapped the infamous 12.8-mile Nürburgring circuit as quickly as a 2016 Cayman GT4. Put to use in the real world, the electric Porsche will even refill its 93.4-kWh battery from 5 to 80 percent in just 22 minutes
or so at the most powerful charging stations.

Trend—Porsche landed itself a 60-second Super Bowl commercial slot this year, its first time advertising during the game in a long, long time, and it didn't waste the opportunity. Its spot was a cinematic car chase dubbed "The Heist," in which a new Taycan Turbo S EV goes missing from the Porsche museum in Stuttgart, Germany—and the facility's security staff gives chase in a gaggle of historical Porsche models, from a 917K Le Mans racing car to a 918 Spyder to even the blue 911 Carrera
S from the new Bad Boys III movie.
|
Adweek—Tonight’s Super Bowl ad for Porsche—60 seconds of twisty roads, growling engines and epic driving created by agency Cramer-Krasselt—was pretty much the sort of sleek production you’d expect from a pricey German nameplate equipped to buy into America’s priciest air time. But while “The Heist,” which featured security guards in hot pursuit of a thief who’d stolen a new Taycan Turbo S from
the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, was good fun, it was also a monumental step for Porsche that, like many of its competitors, finds itself in a fast-changing market.

Autoblog—Automakers ranging from hypercar specialists to mass-market budget brands have created Vision GT concepts for Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo. Porsche for various reasons, remains a conspicuous absence among the list of contributors to that most conceptual of realms. A report in Car magazine says the situation will change sometime in "the next few months," when Porsche releases a
Vision GT concept for GT Sport. When it arrives, it will join the Taycan Turbo unleashed in the game last November, and the 917 Living Legend concept that's due to be available to players in the first half of this year.

| | Motor1—A classic muscle car lines up against a much more modern European sports car for a drag race. The results are very interesting.
This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is far from stock. It packs a massive 9.3-liter (565-cubic-inch) V8 that pumps out a claimed 720 horsepower (537 kilowatts). The gearbox is GM's venerable Turbo 400 automatic, and it runs to a nine-inch rear differential with 3.89-ratio gears.
|
Porsche Newsroom—The idea came from Porsche. Ferry Porsche wanted an entry-level Porsche that would give young drivers inexpensive access to the world of Porsche. This alone makes the 914 a typical Porsche. Because he was trying something new. Because the heart of the car, the engine, is mid-mounted. And because the form follows the function. The 914 is typically Porsche, even though it doesn’t
look like it at first glance. But the first known design draft quotes a Porsche that could hardly be more typical and steeped in history – the 550 Spyder.

and Driver—When we got the go-ahead for a long-term 40,000-mile Porsche Cayenne, we pretty much knew what we wanted. Well, we knew at least whatever configuration we decided on would spark more than a few arguments among our staff. Because one of our favorite things to do is tinker with Porsche's online car configurator, everyone here at C/D HQ had some idea what they wanted, individually. Coming to a consensus took some work.

USA Today—For generations, Porsche has been known to its loyal fans as a brand with exquisitely designed and engineered sports cars.
Specialty vehicles like the tiny-but-powerful 911 sport coupe have been central to its identity.
But in recent years, the Volkswagen Group luxury brand has transformed itself into a maker of sport utility vehicles brand with lower prices and bigger sales.

| | Motor1—Modern Porsches are often criticized for being way more expensive than most of their direct rivals are. We are not here to judge and make final conclusions, so we’ll just share the facts - an Audi RS5 starts at $75,195 in the United States, while a comparable new 911 Carrera S has a price sticker of $113,300. To put that into perspective, that’s almost 40 grand difference for nearly the same performance. Or is that
true?
|
Autoblog—A nondescript white van rolls up beside my blue 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo as I sit at a red light on the Pacific Coast Highway near Huntington Beach, Calif. The driver rolls down his window, gives a hearty thumbs up, and makes it clear via additional hand signals that he wants to see me stand on it. His grinning passenger leans forward and seconds the motion with an enthusiastic
nod.

| | Car and
Driver—Porsche's slope-shouldered 911 sports car is arguably one of the most recognizable automobiles in the world. It's undergone 56 years of evolution, changing so slowly over its seven generations that no one could possibly question its lineage—except us. Now that the latest 992-generation 911 is here for the 2020 model year, we were curious about how much of the original 911's DNA, if any, comes through in it. Is there a clear genetic relationship, or has it morphed into a
completely different animal?

Motor1—Here’s something we’ve never seen tackling the miles-long runway used by Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds. It’s not the Porsche 911 – we watched a bone stock GT2 RS hit 219 mph last May. This 911, however, is a full-on GT3 Cup race car and we won’t even try to tease you about speed. With a flat-out pass of 172 mph, it’s not remotely as fast as other cars recorded at the Space Shuttle
runway. But it’s probably the only one that could take a corner flat-out and not end up spinning like a malfunctioning UFO. And it sounds absolutely glorious.

Kelley Blue Book—The all-electric 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S arrives just six months after the debut of the celebrated Taycan Turbo and Turbo S models. The new four-door sedan, which undercuts the premium models by nearly $50,000, shares the same chassis, front motor and suspension as its more powerful siblings, but it arrives with an abbreviated standard features list, slightly less power, and a choice
between two battery capacities.

Motor1—Personalization is a keyword in the modern automotive industry. Many manufacturers rely on factory programs which give customers the ability to customize their brand new cars according to their own wishes. That’s usually an expensive process and this easily explains why it’s more popular in the upper end of the automotive spectrum than in the mainstream segments. One of the undisputed
leaders in that regard is Porsche’s in-house Exclusive Manufaktur division.
| | |
Autoblog—Porsche currently has seven different experience centers around the globe that allow fans, owners, and curious minds to see, explore, and feel the world of the famous German automaker. None, however, have been directly in the one of the company's biggest foreign rivals' backyards. Porsche announced it will build a new experience center in north-central Italy at the Autodromo di
Franciacorta racetrack.
