| | PCA—Hot off the heels of driving Porsche’s tarmac-tearing 911 Turbo S for a week, Porsche Cars North America delivered this gorgeous 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet to the PCA National Office. From the moment I looked out of my office window and saw the brown-topped convertible pulling up, the stunning exterior color combination ignited my senses.

| | PCA—Over the past 25 odd years, I’ve owned no less than five air-cooled 911s. It’s rare for me to be without one for more than about five years. And since I sold my last one (an ’82 SC coupe) in 2014, it seemed like I was well
overdue. My 968, while entertaining, wasn’t as kid-friendly as a 911 — the 944-style curved rear seat bottoms found on an early 968 don’t accommodate a booster seat very well. And since my kids like to go in the Porsche, the 968 needed to go.

Watches—We’ve always been inspired by the things, people and places we admire, so for our latest limited-edition pieces, we decided to travel back to the 1960’s era car races.
From the sweet revving sound, to the exciting smell of petrol and burnt tires, to Le Man 24-hour race, where bold and fearless drivers race the unbelievably fast cars. This is where, everywhere is quite except you hear the extremely loud engines and your own heartbeat. Hands sweating, teeth grinding, eyes wide open and heads turning for 24 hours.

PCA—On May 4, the PCA Schonesland Region board started a dialogue about how to make the most impact in their area due to the devastating impact Covid-19 had on the economy and the lives of so many local residents. It was decided that the best organization to team up with would be
the Food Bank of Iowa.

Motor1—We open this article by discussing a potential elephant in the room. Yes, this driver is tacking the 12.9-mile Nordschleife section of the Nürburgring with his very young daughter riding shotgun. It’s not illegal, and while some might feel it's irresponsible, she’s securely
strapped in and dad clearly knows the course. A cute crash helmet for her might be better, but we’ll leave it at that because honestly, this clip is absolutely adorable.

| | If you’ve
been keeping up with the PCARMARKET LIVE podcast on YouTube, you’ve seen some of the biggest names in the Porsche industry like Bruce Canepa and Rod Emory talk about how they found their passion for the marque and what it’s like building the highest level Porsches in existence. Coming
up this week on PCARMARKET LIVE, host David Jacobson goes inside the market and recaps a handful of the top auctions with industry experts. Breaking down the current market values on particular models, the status of collector grade Porsches, and tips for auctioning your car are just
some of the topics you’ll see covered. David and guests also answer questions from viewers like why the auction format is superior to standard classified listings, concerns sellers may have auctioning their car, and how to protect yourself after winning an auction. Motor Trend—A Porsche GTS is, "Always the sportiest offer within the model line." So said a Porsche presentation about the latest flavors of the 2021 Cayenne, the GTS and GTS Coupe. The five minute-long video began with—of all things—a 904 GTS and none other than the legend
himself Walter Rohrl talking about said 904 GTS.
| | |
| | Motor1—Hands down, Porsche has outdone itself with the 2021 911 Turbo S. The new range-topper 911 is a huge improvement from its predecessor; it's now the quickest and most powerful 911 Turbo ever.
But there's another car from Stuttgart that can challenge the 911. Despite being silent, it's definitely a threat. And yes, it's all-electric and carries the same moniker – the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
|
TheSmokingTire—Let's be honest: The Cayenne is probably the least exciting vehicle Porsche makes. It's the heaviest, the slowest, and the tallest, pretty much the antitheses of the traditional Porsche formula. If you don't need to tow, and you don't need to fit tall people in
back, you should probably just buy a Macan, which is faster and more athletic, for less money. However, if you wanted a Cayenne, the new GTS model is the lightest, sportiest, most aggressive version. With a 460 HP twin-turbo V8, a beautiful exhaust note, and, perhaps most importantly, the best brake-to-weight ratio I've ever seen in this class, the GTS is able to stand up to the rigors of true performance driving without skipping a beat.

|
Roadshow by CNET—Oh, the humble manual transmission. How do we explain your appeal? I've yet to hear anyone lament the loss of manual timing advance levers nor choke pulls and the hand-operated windshield wiper has long-since been relegated to history. Good riddance to
that.
| | |
| | Jalopnik—What defines a successful car? Is it how it sells when it’s new? They fly off of the lot, you see them everywhere. They’re affordable, a dime-a-dozen on the roads, and super popular. But, decades later, many of them sit underneath a highway overpass gathering dust, someone wrote “wash me” on the window, it has been rear-ended a few times, and overall looks neglected.
|
CarBuzz—Porsche builds some of the finest sports cars in the world. That's what it's known for, and that's what the company has been so successful for the better part of a century, but who could have guessed that they would take to the sky? Yes, we've come across a plane that has
undergone a heart transplant and is now powered by a Porsche 911 engine.
| | |
| | Autoblog—The puzzling ducktailed Porsche 911 Turbo prototype has been spotted at the Nürburgring, but this time Automotive Mike did us the favor of capturing video. It was first spotted in November of last year, then in March this year doing winter testing, but we still have no clue what the development model portends.
|
Motor1—The Porsche Taycan Turbo S benefits from a launch control system that temporarily boosts the output to 751 horsepower (560 kilowatts). A new drag race video from Motorsport Magazine shows off just how impressive its performance is by putting one against a BMW M8
Gran Coupe in Competition trim. With 617 hp (460 kW), the Bimmer is hardly lacking power but not enough to keep up with the Porsche.

York Times (limited free articles)—The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S plots our escape from New York, luring me to play hooky from coronavirus home-schooling. The latest, wide-hipped version of the classic sports car burbles happily in eighth gear. I relax in the sculpted embrace of sport seats, Fiona Apple’s new album chiming through a Burmester audio system, and allow S.U.V.s to pass me on Manhattan’s West Side Highway. For now.

Motorsport.com—The Porsche pairing of Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber say they are “OK” with a podium finish in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar’s second round of 2020 at Daytona since it has boosted them to the top of the GT Le Mans-class points table.
| | |
| | Electrek—Porsche announced that it has reached a new production milestone of its new electric Macan at its Leipzig, Germany, factory.
The German automaker is already having some success with the Taycan, but the next few years are expected to bring a much greater wave of electrification.
