| | PCA—It’s May 19. I’ve just been told to turn left into the parking garage which sits below the headquarters of PCNA and the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta. In doing so, my wife Linda and I have our temperatures taken via forehead thermometer and are given masks. Failing this test would have had us immediately exiting the premises and that would have been that.

| | PCA—We all know that Porsche colors tend to cluster around reds, blacks, silvers, grays and whites. Dealers knew what sold, and that’s what they ordered. But every so often, a few intrepid souls went for the outliers, the
interesting, unconventional colors. Over the years, many wound up underneath a respray in a more popular color, making an already rare color, even more seldom seen. Here are six that most of us have never seen out in the wild.

PCA—The Mart will likely always be a work in progress. It’s a constant object of our attention to keep it as safe a space as we can, weeding out scammers and those posing as commercial sellers. Although it looks like little has changed for some time, we haven’t been ignoring the
presentation and usability of The Mart. In fact, we’ve been working on an improved version for well over a year. The online version will make its debut on June 1, and the August issue of Porsche Panorama will reflect the changes made to the print version.
|
| | PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff and guest contributors pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1974 Porsche 914, 1990 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, 2001 911 Turbo, and 2011 911 Targa 4.

Ferro & Company—We’ve always been inspired by the things, people and places we admire, so for our latest limited-edition pieces, we decided to travel back to the 1960’s era car races.
From the sweet revving sound, to the exciting smell of petrol and burnt tires, to Le Man 24-hour race, where bold and fearless drivers race the unbelievably fast cars. This is where, everywhere is quite except you hear the extremely loud engines and your own heartbeat. Hands sweating, teeth grinding, eyes wide open and heads turning for 24 hours.

| | PCA—Many Porsche owners understand that their cars are meant to be driven, not stowed away in a corner of the garage, yet it's taboo to see a an old Porsche 356 being slung through a gravel road with a large canoe strapped to the roof. That, apparently, is exactly how director and photographer Jeff Zwart likes to spend his offtime with his dog Jezzebel.

PCA—It’s been written many times in PCA history and lore, something to the effect of: “At the first national gathering there was a parade of Porsches and the name stuck.” Porsche Parade: catchy phrase, we like it – but that story is simply not true. So, let's go back to December
1955 and the first issue of Porsche Panorama.

Rennch via YouTube—Ed.: This video is the start of a Porsche DIYer's journey to turn his 911 race car back into a street car. Of course, there are many other DIY videos on the Rennch channel, from general to 911-specific.

| | Motor1—There’s no denying that coronavirus lockdowns are frustrating. However, there are bright sides to this pandemic that are worth noting. The worry and uncertainly can have a negative effect on creativity, but we’re continually seeing folks rising above that to achieve all-new levels of awesomeness. Porsche brings us a taste of that with this epic photoshoot of iconic moments in the automaker’s past recreated in Lego.

Road & Track—Since the Porsche Taycan Turbo S came out, people have wanted one answer. Magazines, websites, and anxious customers have tried to figure out whether it's truly quicker than the Tesla Model S Performance. Now, thanks to a new YouTube video, we have some good
evidence on video that it is. Despite a bad start, the Taycan beats the Model S.

| | Motor1—If you’re in the market for a luxury SUV that packs some serious performance, well then you’re in luck, as there are several examples to choose from. Legendary performance car brands like Porsche, Audi, and Alfa Romeo all offer performance SUVs for their sedan averse customers. Although these brands built its reputation on fast sports cars and sedans, their ability to translate much of that experience into some seriously impressive SUVs.
With much of the market purchasing SUVs over cars, there’s a lot at stake in the way of potential revenue. So who builds the quickest SUV in this highly contested segment? Well the team at Carwow decided to find out.

Hagerty—Bruce Canepa may be best known for bringing the Porsche 959 to America and tweaking the platform ever since, but as a specialist dealer, his highly equipped workshop also houses over 100 other rare cars at any given moment. As a former Pikes Peak, IMSA GT, sprint car,
supermodified, and Trans Am racer, Canepa also maintains what’s known as the The Canepa Motorsport Museum, a collection of his favorite historically significant speed machines.

| | Jalopnik—I’m not going to claim a car that costs $94,120 is “practical” in every sense, but if you’re cashed up and want an easy-to-use luxury vehicle that’s fairly fun to thrash–and basically elite at everything it does–the Macan Turbo is undeniably impressive. Purist Porsche it ain’t, but, I’m a performance crossover cynic and I can’t deny that this thing is just good.
|
Autoblog—There is always going to be a better Porsche 911. Yet, that fact is hard to care about when in the driver’s seat of any variant on the performance ladder, because every single one of them is enchanting to drive. This time, it’s the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera
4.

Road & Track—It was 2013. R&T had just completed its first review of the new Tesla Model S Performance (April ’13 issue), photographing the car with a group of pastel-colored Fifties American sleds. “The last time the world was in awe of an American car,” the review said,
“it had fins.”

| | CarBuzz—Porsche is renowned for building some of the best sports cars in the world, and in recent times, the 718 Cayman GT4 has taken the title of being arguably the best junior sports car on the planet. A high-revving, naturally aspirated engine mounted midship is paired to the rear wheels via a good old-fashioned row-your-own-gears manual gearbox - the perfect recipe for automotive enthusiasts. But time and time again, the gearbox has come
under fire for the gearing being too long, with second gear taking you well beyond 60 mph, meaning you don't need to use the sweet shifter as much as you'd probably like.
|
Motor1—As we deal with the coronavirus pandemic, automakers are looking to expand their online customer services and cover everything from ordering to delivery. Porsche even introduced an online platform that helps you find your desired classic Porsche, and now the Stuttgart-based
company is expanding its digital services even further.

The Drive—If you've got a set of Harbor Freight jack stands somewhere in your garage, stop using them immediately because many of them have just been recalled over pawls that could "disengage from the extension lifting post" under a shift in weight, causing them to suddenly
collapse. We feel like this shouldn't have to be said but we'll say it anyway: bad jack stands that could suddenly fall are extremely dangerous and being underneath a car supported by one could very easily result in serious injury or death.
|
Motor1—At only 384 kilograms (847 pounds), the 909 Bergspyder will go down in history as Porsche’s lightest car ever. Then there was the 718 Formel 2, tipping the scales at just 456 kg (1,005 lbs). We also mustn’t omit the 356 SL with its aluminum body to keep weight in check at a
remarkably low 640 kg (1,410 lbs). These are just three examples of Porsche’s expertise regarding lightweight sports cars, an expertise the company’s head of designer would like to be channeled towards the development of a new back-to-basics model.

"In May of 2018, Grand Forks, British Columbia suffered a catastrophic flood. The entire downtown business section flooded including a building that I own. I decided as part of the downtown revitalization to paint an interactive mural on the side of my building. Pictured is my 2016 GT3 RS 'wing delete' which shows the potential of the mural. I am inviting all Porsche owners, if passing through, to be part of this dream."
