PCA—Macan owners don’t need to be reminded of the inherent desirability of their cars, but it is nice when validation comes in the form of impressive resale value. Since its introduction, the Macan has been a perennial top-ten
nameplate in terms of resale. Kelley Blue Book recently announced that it has retained its top-ten spot for 2019.

| | Gear Patrol—You know you’re living in unusual times when a Porsche and a Jeep can rightfully be considered competitors. Yet here we are in late 2019, a year where Porsche’s first crossover is well into its third generation and Jeep
builds a Grand Cherokee with a 707-horsepower engine. Porsches for off-roading, Jeeps on the track; it’s pure Bizarro World logic. Indeed, the Jeep’s outlandish specs are so wild, they might well distract you from the fact that the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Road and Track—The day ran on forever, 16 long hours of sunlight. Early June in Gotland, Sweden, is a treat that way, recompense for the dark winter months. The island’s 60,000 permanent residents refuse to waste a second of it. They
bathe in the daylight, turn their faces to the sun, close their eyes, breathe it in. Over the summer, the place will flood with some 1.6 million tourists, but that was a few weeks away. For the moment, it was just the locals, an empty race circuit, and us in the 670-hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, now the fastest production Cayenne in existence.

| | Motorauthority—Porsche's second-generation Panamera is set to come in for a subtle facelift as it reaches the midway point in its life cycle, as evidenced by camouflaged prototypes spotted in the wild. The latest prototype is for the
Panamera's Sport Turismo wagon body style. Earlier testers showed the regular liftback sedan. The current Panamera arrived in 2016 as a 2017 model, so we'll likely see this updated one in 2020 as a 2021 model
|
Autoweek—The Macan is Porsche's small sport utility vehicle that includes both premium materials and price tag. For this model year and this model year only, the Macan S stands as the top trim of the Macan lineup, above the base
four-cylinder model. 2020 brings back the traditional top-bill Macan Turbo with a new engine making 434 hp. The 2019 model year Macan received a midcycle refresh from Porsche. There’s the cosmetic stuff like new LED taillights and revised bodywork to give the Macan a wider appearance.

| | TechCrunch—The Porsche Taycan Turbo, one of several variants of the German automaker’s first all-electric vehicles, has an EPA estimated range of
201 miles, according to government ratings posted Wednesday. This is the first variant of the Taycan — Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle — to receive an estimated range from the EPA. The range, which indicates how far the vehicle can travel on a single charge, is far behind other competitors in the space, notably the Tesla Model S. But it also trails other high-end electric vehicles, including the Jaguar I-Pace and the Audi e-tron

Traction News—Yokohama Tire announced it is supplying its ‘Advan Sport V105’ tires to Porsche AG as original equipment (OE) for use on the Cayenne premium SUV. Yokohama tires have been used as OE on Porsche’s Cayenne since the SUV was first introduced, with the new Cayenne the third model to be fitted with Yokohama tires.

| | Autoweek—What is it: In 2002, Porsche built the Cayenne, a midsize SUV, and by the reaction you would have thought the enthusiast world was ending. It was the
company’s best-seller for a while. Now its other SUV, the Macan, holds that title. It was the same with the Panamera sedan when it came out in 2010. Now it sells right around 911 numbers, depending on what’s newer at the time. It was a funky-looking thing until its second generation, which solved all my qualms with it.
|
Car and Driver—In the quest for speed, you’ll need power and grip, but you’ll also want the confidence to exploit them. The Porsche Macan excels at power and grip, but it’s the confidence it inspires that makes it exceptional. It
communicates in many subtle ways. Bits of information come up through the steering, brakes, and suspension. The result is that it feels alive at any speed, a trait that runs through Porsche’s entire lineup. Keep pushing and the steering effort builds in just the right way
| | |
| | PCA—Partly because the other three Mart Fresh picks are 911s and also because I have an economy car and sports car in my stable, I’m imagining what my next vehicle realistically would be. The natural choices would be a sports utility
vehicle or a pick-up truck, and Porsche doesn’t make the latter. So the first-generation Cayenne S, then, could be the way to go. This one is in a nice shade of Basalt Black Metallic and has a low asking price, though the fairly high mileage helps to explain that.

Road Show by CNET—Porsche has never built an electric car. The company once dedicated to sports cars alone expanded into more luxurious territory in the past few decades, but with the Porsche Taycan, we greet a new era. Apparently,
buyers are greeting this new era with open arms because Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Germany's Handelsblatt newspaper that it has 30,000 preorders for the electric sedan. Reuters first reported on the comments on Wednesday.

| | Motor1—There are three factors that should be considered in a drag race: engine output, vehicle weight, and launch. In this episode of CarWow's weekly drag race, Mat Watson went aboard a Porsche Cayenne Turbo to go head to head against
an Audi RS4 Avant. On the surface, considering that the Cayenne is an SUV and the RS4 is a station wagon, the race looks like a mismatch. Or is it? That's actually the clincher in this episode.
|
Carwow via YouTube—We’re bringing you an SUV showdown for our latest drag race! For starters, Mat’s in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo which comes with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can hit 540hp! His competitor? The Range Rover Sport SVR,
with its 5-litre supercharged V8 and 575hp! They’re going head-to-head on the track, after which they’ll be taking it off-road along with a special guest.

| | Edmunds via YouTube—In this video, Alistair Weaver gets behind the wheel of the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S. During the drive, we explore the abilities of Porsche's first-ever electric car, from its acceleration to how well it handles.
While we were suitably impressed with the power and acceleration found in the Turbo S variant, the far less expensive 4S truly stands out.
|
| | Engadget—Porsche's follow-ups to the Taycan may make its powerplants seem conservative by comparison. The Stuttgart crew has revealed that it's working on a four-motor powertrain for electric SUVs, twice as many as what you'll find in
the Taycan. This isn't about improving quarter mile times, though. Instead, the design is focused on control -- one motor for each wheel lets Porsche rapidly shift the power distribution based on where it's needed, whether it's to counteract slippery roads or take corners at high speed.
|
PCA—The Porsche Taycan has been making the rounds for various automotive publications, yet we've been anxiously awaiting the verdict from The Smoking Tire's Matt Farah, who unflinchingly gives an honest opinion in his One Take videos.
This morning he finally released his review of the Taycan Turbo S, and it makes us even more excited to spend more time behind the wheel of the EV.

| | Forbes—Porsche, the maker of premium high-performance sports cars, is venturing into new territory. Today, the marque revealed a fantasy starship, created in collaboration with Lucasfilm. Named Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter, the
1.5 meter-long model will be presented at the ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ movie premier in Los Angeles later this month. The project has taking over two months to complete.

PCA—Little did we know just how interesting our weekend would be and how spectacular the roads would become. Richard, Otis (our Cayenne) and I left Seattle on November 15th on our way to Cache Creek in central British Columbia. This
was third time we had participated in RallyBCs Totem event, a Time Speed Distance (TSD) rally, and based on our previous experiences, we were looking forward to an exciting and fun weekend. As we left Seattle there were a few sprinkles but nothing to worry about. However, as we reached the Fraser River Valley all hell broke loose.

| | PCA—Do you dare to go where the pavement ends, and the dirt road begins? It was time for Rocky Mountain Region’s 4th annual off-road event. We had a cool morning as it rained a lot the night before! What was the trail going
to be like? Big mud puddles? Washed out trail? A fallen boulder blocking the trail? Our tour group started our drive from Boulder, CO with 31 members and 17 vehicles. We made our way up Boulder Canyon to have our first break in Nederland, CO before heading just a few miles out of town to begin the tour. The tour group started out by driving on a Forest Service Road that has many campsites along the way.
