PCA—Each time we successfully complete what we think will be an epic adventure the next one proves to be even more challenging. This was the second winter Alcan 5000 we entered with our
Porsche Cayenne ‘Otis’. The 2020 Alcan went beyond what even the professional drivers competing were expecting. The ALCAN 5000 Time Speed Distance rally has not failed to deliver an event that is both challenging and rewarding on many levels. Alcan 5000 has been sponsored by the Rainier Auto Sports Club since 1984, alternating every two years between a winter then summer event.

| | PCA—Each fall and spring, Porsche Club of America opens a member only raffle, in which you, the member, may purchase entries for a chance to win
a brand-new Porsche. For the Spring 2020 Member Only Raffle, the grand prize is a Porsche Taycan 4S plus $25,000. Alternatively, winners may also choose $85,000 instead of a car plus $25,000.

Car and Driver—Most of the C/D crew has been holed up at home for about a month. Because of that, this long-term Cayenne, as well as the rest of our fleet, has not been gathering miles at the
usual pace. During this (so far) roughly monthlong containment, our Cayenne accumulated fewer than 1000 miles. (Someone at Porsche reading this just did the mental math, and no, it will not take 30 months more to complete this test.)

| | Car and Driver—The Pontiac Aztek looks somewhat decent these days. Hummer is coming back to make electric SUVs. Tesla just built its millionth car. To that pile of things we thought we'd never
say, we can now add: Porsche builds two sedans. For our recent Tesla Model S Performance versus Porsche Taycan Turbo S comparison test, we used a new-for-2019 Porsche Panamera GTS as a chase and photo vehicle, seeing as it could keep up with the ridiculously quick EVs.

Forbes—After a year’s hiatus, 2020 sees the return of the Porsche Macan Turbo, which was so far ahead of its competitors when introduced in 2014 that a limited refresh of the entire Macan model
line has helped it remain one of the best choices in a packed and ruthlessly competitive field of German and English middleweight high-performance SUVs. Porsche’s Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch gearbox is every bit as important as the sweetly smooth twin-turbo V6—funny to give a gearbox first mention ahead of the engine, but it’s warranted.

| | Motorauthority—Porsche's second-generation Panamera is set to come in for a subtle facelift as it reaches the midway point in its life cycle, as
evidenced by camouflaged prototypes spotted in the wild. The latest prototype is for the Panamera's Sport Turismo wagon body style. Earlier testers showed the regular liftback sedan. The current Panamera arrived in 2016 as a 2017 model, so we'll likely see this updated one around the end of 2020 as a 2021 model.

Motor1—In a casual conversation about off-roaders, you’ll rarely hear someone talk about a Porsche – not even a Cayenne, the marque's biggest and most capable luxury SUV. Being a luxury vehicle,
owners most likely won't subject their Cayenne into an extensive journey, more so, a cross-country safari from Austria to South Africa. But this one’s different – an original Cayenne that has been modified by Delta 4x4, a German off-road tuner, and it has an interesting story to back up the rally racer look.

| | Savagegeese via YouTube —We review the 2020 Porsche Macan S. Many will complain about the SUV and CUV market takeover. Lets get real, people are
buying more and more of them and we dissect whether or not this is a good or bad thing for the Porsche brand. With other vehicles like the BMW X3, X5, Alfa Stelvio, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q5 you had better get your schedules cleared to test drive all of them.

YahooNews—Porsche's first purely electrically powered vehicle the Porsche Taycan is on fire these days. Not only has it won the World Performance Car for 2020, but it also bagged the World
Luxury Car at this year’s World Car of the Year Awards 2020 (WCOTY). Porsche, which had the most number of nominations, also swept all three finalists in the performance car category at the World Performance Award. This historic feat included Porsche Taycan, Porsche 911, and Porsche 718 Spyder/Cayman GT4 .

| | Autoblog— Here’s our second sighting of what might be the ultra high performance Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT. We wrote about the possibility of the
car’s existence nearly a year ago, and the first spy photos surfaced at the beginning of this year. Just like before, the dual exhaust exits toward the center of the rear bumper, and the regular exhaust exits are filled in with plastic coverings.

Hotcars—Having received a cult-like status from Porsche fans, the Macan is becoming one of the most popular modern models and may outdo the Cayenne. The Macan was announced in 2011 and premiered
in 2013 in Los Angeles. In the beginning, it was known as the "Cajun", but the company saw the possibility to make it the face of the brand and changed the name to Macan.

| | TFLCAR—With the trails starting to emerge from a long winter in the Colorado Rockies, Tommy and Roman decided to see how TFL’s two AWD project vehicles, the Volkswagen Touareg and the Porsche
Cayenne Turbo, compared on the Ironclad off-road test in the snowy, icy, muddy slop called “mud season” around here.
|
Insideevs—The Porsche Taycan has not only proven that a legacy OEM can design and produce an incredible high-performance electric car, but also that EV powertrains are arguably far superior to
internal combustion engines. Sure, the Taycan is expensive, but so is the rest of Porsche's lineup. People planning on buying a Porsche aren't prioritizing value and savings. Aside from vehicles produced by Tesla, the Taycan is one of the first performance EVs with the ability to match or outclass high-performance gas-powered cars.
| | |
| | Road and Track—It's been like this for more than 50 years. Models like the 914, 924, and 944 eschewed the form factor that made the company famous. One—the front-engine, V-8-powered
928—was intended to replace the aging 911 and its weird layout. Yet the 928 died in the early '90s while the 911 is still produced today.
|
| | TFLCAR—The folks over at taycanforum.com saw that the lower-end Porsche Taycan 4S received its CARB certification on March 16. Its range is 289.7 miles, according to their figures. By
comparison, the Taycan Turbo got 281.8 miles and the Turbo S 273.8 miles range. The Porsche Taycan has a mixed bag of reviews from various outlets, including our own review.
|
Hot Cars—The first spy shots of the long-rumored electric Porsche Macan have now been released, and new and additional details about this new EV from the Stuttgart brand have also been trickling
in. Although the photos depict a Macan that looks almost exactly like the current, gasoline-powered SUV, there are some giveaways like the covered air intakes in the front that confirm that Porsche is working to bring this EV to the market, likely in 2023.

| | Motor1—Buying a Porsche is a challenging proposition, even before you crack open the legendarily expansive options catalog. Something as simple as deciding on a trim can paralyze
prospective customers with choice. Here's a healthy tip to cure your purchasing paralysis: buy the inbetweener. Porsche is better than any other automaker at bridging gaps in its trim line with new variants.
